  • I know you've all been dying to see this one finished, and here it is!
    The long-awaited Beyer-Garratt. This monstrous project was started back in mid-2020 when I first announced it as a secret project to my Patreon members. However, this loco became a mammoth of work. I began to lose motivation halfway building it, and the side rods continued to be a bother.
    It wasn't until Alexander (narrow_gauge@flickr) helped me again to resolve the issue after I figured out how I rushed to get it up and running! Not only to move on to other projects but to celebrate reaching 7000 subscribers!
    I hope you enjoy the video and the model. More is always on the way to stay tuned!
    FLICKR: @Britishbricks

    Enjoy!
    Note: These videos are intended for a general audience and are targeted towards a wide range of model enthusiasts.

    0:41 wait what, no I'm pretty sure it was because it was too far for the fireman to walk back and forth between the coal (the back of the tender) and the firebox and so they installed a revolving coal bunker (with a screw in it, Archimedes' screw) to bring the coal from the rear of the tender to the front for easier fueling.
    Edit: also was there any reason in particular you decided to build it in photographic grey? Availability of parts? These engines would have spent their working lives in black.

    • @Britishbricks
      @Britishbricks  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      This could also be true, it's just what I read off wiki. I first saw this loco on Sam's Trains, where he was reviewing the new Heljan model. I liked the look of the grey compared to the black, thought it would've been fun to build!

    Is it minifig-scaled?

      I’d say so? It’s more sized the gauge of the track, minifigs are a bit whacky in size so they look a little too stubby next to it. I usually add a plate to their legs for extra height, and pass it off as shoes!
