Cops are trained to the teeth. Training is not the issue. We spend more money on police in this country than any country on earth does on their military except for the US and China. All these failures we see in law enforcement are not training issues, not funding issues, not lack of equipment issues, not lack of personnel issues, they are police issues. Meanwhile they take up all of the resources the city has and the only things they do successfully is bring in revenue, typically for themselves and protect wealthy people's property. The cops now take more money in asset forfeiture every single year than the total cost of burgalries in the entire country, and that has been the case for a long time. It is also extremely difficult, if not impossible to get your money or property back. We need to stop defending these guys and wake up.

Police have NO duty or legal obligation to "protect" anything but government property and officials. "Serve and Protect" is a dirty lie, and a myth, and people need to stop believing it is a thing. This has been CASE LAW for over 40 years, based on the "Warren vs. DC" decision of 1981, and is backed up by more than a dozen subsequent State and Federal Court cases that support this policy.
Personal safety is an INDIVIDUAL responsibility, and the police are NOT your personal bodyguards or security detail (unless you are a government VIP).
