I feel like this had to be this bad on purpose.....I mean that it is so strange how long the police waited to take this monster out. Over an hour. Why?? How did this kid have so much money to buy these guns?? Why was he allowed to be left alone knowing that he was a menace to other kids, cut himself for pleasure and tortured animals??? I don't trust our government at all. mkutlra and other CIA mind control ops....I am just saying this is suspiciously bad and over top. Every teacher no matter what grade refers to their students as “my kids”. Most teachers genuinely care about their students and this is so heartbreaking to hear

As a former teacher it hurts when he said I lost 11 because it’s true. There is no words if the Police chief had not made a poor decision. Most victims would have been saved. He should be recalled. We do not want this leadership mistake again.
One of the most OVERFUNDED police units in the whole state and this is all they could accomplish? Don’t retreat when you take fire. You’re literally the only ones capable of stopping the shooter. You guys with rifles and body armor are standing outside while kids are being fired upon and unarmed civilians were willing to rush in. It’s disgraceful
To me, it makes it abundantly clear that these PDs are purchasing all of the tacticool military equipment to scare civilians into compliance. When there's actually a time to use it, they're afraid to put themselves at risk. The police chief is a disgrace to his town and this country.
Imagine if your house get caught on fire and the fire department standing around outside while you inside being burned alive. Or worst being in car accident and them not trying to free you from the wreckage. How are the teachers "heroes"? They failed to save a single life and one of them left a door unlocked which allowed this massacre to happen. When they said more 911 calls came in from Mr Reyes classroom, that hurts my heart. That means those children were still alive and waiting to be saved after being shot but instead were just left to die. They could have been saved. They should have been saved. 😓
I did hear that some officers were ready to go in and were ordered not to. They are also feeling grief, remorse and being called cowards. It's a terrible situation.
No teacher could’ve been prepared for that situation and we shouldn’t have to! It’s just like he said, no matter the trainings you go through, nothing would’ve prepared you. My heart breaks hearing him talk about losing his 11 kids and having them go under their desks like sitting ducks. That’s heartbreaking. The police should have those children's lives on their conscience. That poor gentleman going through that, and those poor children asking for help and their prayers not answered, their deaths COULD and SHOULD of been saved and the 2 teachers and the wounding of the male teacher. The police let them all down. Shame on them.
The blood is on their hands as much as the shooter's. They could've saved lives that day. They arrived fairly early. The gunshots were still ringing out as officers entered the building and approached the classroom before immediately fleeing down the hall. Every child and teacher dead, family shattered, parent and staff member detained and threatened with a taser when they tried to go in because the cops refused to do something, and the survivor, Mr. Reyes, shouldering this grief that will follow him for the rest of his life-that's on their heads. The shooter is dead, so the only ones left to blame at this point are the police. I want to believe the guilt of their failure will rot them from the inside-out, but you have to be rotten to allow such a tragedy to persist in the first place.
I could never be a parent of one of these dead child and NOT plot my revenge. No way I’d let this go. I’m taking blue lives down with me. That’s a true parent.
I would imagine that the parents knew him well. That is normal when you entrust a teacher with your child. However grief shows up in many ways. It’s not his fault, hopefully he can come to terms with himself that he did everything he could; risking his own life. I’m hoping the parents aren’t upset at him, they must be going through the stages of grief and it’s possible for them to blame the teacher; but I’m sure they’d understand, with time, he didn’t have the resources to protect all 11 angels.
Grieving parents can be cruel sometimes. They want to unleash their anger and frustration at someone, and if that person is dead (the killer), then they turn to the person responsible for their kid’s welfare. It’s not his fault, he was a victim too ):

@Tiny Princess wow that’s interesting because when you google that the first things that come up is exactly what it means lol. “The first “police badges” were the coat of arms worn by knights. The coat of arms identified the knight and his allegiance to justice, chivalry, and his royal leaders by on his shield. Police Officers swear to protect and serve, the same as knights from the medieval era were often sworn in and asked to “Protect the weak, defenseless, helpless, and fight for the general welfare of all.” Before any officer takes the Law Enforcement Oath of Honor, it is important he or she understands what it means. An oath is a solemn pledge someone makes when they sincerely intend to do what they say: Honor... means that one's word is given as a guarantee. Betray... is defined as breaking faith with the public trust. Badge... is the symbol of your office. Integrity... is being the same person in both private and public life. Character... means the qualities that distinguish an individual. Public Trust... is a charge of duty imposed in faith toward those you serve. Courage... is having the strength to withstand unethical pressure, fear or danger. Accountability... means that you are answerable and responsible to your oath of office. Community... is the jurisdiction and citizens served.” By the way that’s from a police website it’s the first one on google to show up when you look up that phrase. A Ruger Mini-14 is functionally the same exact weapon as the AR15, and you would instantly see a wooden stock and think it's just a hunting rifle, but it takes the exact same cartridge, same magazine, and has the same "semi-auto" ability. The Ruger Mini 14 was not banned during the AWB 94-04. I'm not convinced at all on your first two points at all. The third point has a valid point, and I agree that giving options to people to access mental health would help.
@@sysoptech all the metal detectors or security won't protect kids lining up to get into the school, playing outside during recess or do u suggest keeping kids inside like prisoners so sick people can buy guns at 18
Mr. Reyes I am praying for you. This was not your fault! Absolutely not your fault! Not your fault! Please focus on yourself and do whatever you need to do to heal from your wounds. You have endured enough. Thank you for sharing your story.
So sorry for your and the families loss Mr. Reyes. Thank you so much for telling your story. It's so important for understanding how things unfolded. I'll be thinking of you from New Hampshire.
Which makes perfect sense if you think about it. If he knows he hasn’t shot them yet, why would they be dead. Just like the teacher said, playing dead didn’t help, it only lined them up like ducks.
The shooter was 18 and not a terrorist.. An hour could saved those students in the hospital. So heartbreaking.. Thank you so much Sir..as a teacher I really felt your pain.
As a teacher, I've personally met and sat through seminars with many active shooter experts. We are all sitting ducks in schools and none of those experts felt that arming teachers would prevent shootings, it would only increase the likelihood of a shooter/hostage situation by a student in the building. We've have 280 school shooting since 2009. The next closest is Mexico with 9. Only someone with a truly corrupt heart would still think that our gun situation is acceptable. Things MUST change.
Take the guns away, and we'll have class bombings. Nail bombs. Cars running bus kids over. Mental health needs to change. Treat them, don't let them have access to weapons, or put them away.
If teachers were given Gun safety lessons and could conceal carry it would help. Most schools are run by liberals so of course they would tell everyone it wouldn’t be a deterrent, but the gangs, mentally ill, would get the message if they knew. Schools open door policies is ridiculous. If any administration cared they’d have barriers in place, alarms and metal detectors. Even having 1 armed officer on staff would help. Banning guns won’t stop people from buying them illegally on the streets. That’s rainbow and unicorn thinking, because guns will never go away. If teachers are armed that would be a great deterrent because most school shooters are cowards and knowing they might die before they can succeed in killing would give them something to think about. Active shooters normally don’t attack places where most people are armed!!
I am with you Mr. Reyes. 😭😭😭 you are a hero even though your babies lost their lives. Thank you for speaking and letting us know the laws have to change and there is no way to prepare for this.
As a teacher, having to do ALICE trainings to prepare for this kind of event, there is still the randomness of where the shooter first gets in the building. If a teacher is lucky enough to be at the far end of the building, they MAY be able to barricade or evacuate but there’s no guarantee it will be in time. If you are unlucky, and the shooter gets into your room, there is not much hope. This teacher did the VERY BEST HE COULD! Police Officers swear to protect and serve, the same as knights from the medieval era were often sworn in and asked to “Protect the weak, defenseless, helpless, and fight for the general welfare of all.”
Before any officer takes the Law Enforcement Oath of Honor, it is important he or she understands what it means. An oath is a solemn pledge someone makes when they sincerely intend to do what they say:
Honor...
means that one's word is given as a guarantee.
Betray...
is defined as breaking faith with the public trust.
Badge...
is the symbol of your office.
Community...
is the jurisdiction and citizens served.”
By the way that’s from a police website it’s the first one on google to show up when you look up that phrase. That took me less than five seconds so do you mind explaining to me what you think it means? With sources please

Just think if the school was hardened (metal detectors, security checkpoints, etc), that gunmen would have never made it inside. Hopefully this incident will inspire people to do the right thing, and make it harder to get into a school like that. So sad!
Or, you know, not let mentally unstable people obtain assault weapons and tactical gear…
@@sysoptech and with that, we also need stricter gun laws to make it harder to own a gun, ban lethal weapons like the AR, and make it accessible for resources in mental health because this is a gun problem and people problem.
@@animecookies8784 I disagree with stricter gun laws, or banning guns. I've studied this for about 25 years, and one of the biggest fallacies that is projected is "banning weapons like the AR". There was a ban from 1994-2004, and although studies have proven that the ban's effectiveness was inconclusive, the fact that the bayonet lug was so "dangerous" that it had to be banned, shows just how little people know about firearms.

Lovely thought. Please do pray for him to find peace, and tell your political leaders to institute gun control.
Hi Cindy how you doing.
Active shooters normally don’t attack places where most people are armed!!
it's not his fault, this is so heartbreaking, loosing all of his students, i hope he will be ok and take care of his mental health
