@@thor8447 most companies arent really giving us new (completely redesigned from the ground up)....just reusing the same electronics and chassis...then adding different wheels, longer/shorter arms, different body or colors as well. Or just scaling a popular platform/model to a different size.

I just bought that charger the other day it's a really good charger I like it and I bought it cuz one day I plan on getting an x-max so I can charge the 4-in battery it was worth the 100 bucks
Yeah I am the same way. I know obviously the majority love and used the Wide Maxx kit, but I love the stock width of the V1 Maxx personally it's fun and feels like a monster truck. I had the wide Maxx kit on mine but took it back off after a week or so. But it's great this V2 Maxx came out for those that want a longer, wider Maxx straight out of the box.

Here in Australia it is almost impossible to get Traxxas cars or parts. There are no retailers or hobby shops that have them and if you want one it has to be pre-ordered. This one is listed at $1.670.00AU and any 1/10 scale cars start at $1.000.00AU. I did manage to get the C10 Drag Slash and it cost me $1.100.00AU making it the most expensive RC Car I own and can not even get any spare Traxxas wheels for it. I got 2 DR10's for less than that. Then if you want parts or upgrades you can forget it as even U.S. hobby shops can not ship them here as there seems to be some B.S. restrictions on doing so.

Traxxas shouldn't discontinued the old maxx (v1), just put the wide maxx on v1 and keep selling it, some people like short wheel base, just like arrma outcast 6s and kraton 6s.
Finally ordered mone last night, should have it just before the weekend! I debated driving to Dallas to buy it at the shop there, one day I'll head out there. I'm in Houston. Edit: I went with green to match my Rustler 4x4 vxl.

Hopefully the shock tuning also changed to avoid the excessive chassis slap of the original, if that was changed too it fixes all the big flaws of the original design. Thankful that Traxxas didn’t have a huge price increase. But I feel for the people who recently bought maxx, widemaxx, every upgrade part and now they made a longer chassis and body and centre driveshaft and all the other bits you’d still need to do to get up to full v2 spec.
Seems like nobody wants to do upgrades to there R/C's anymore they want it out of the box the best it can be, that's not directed at you MSM, I know you can build,fix and do anything to a R/C. But it will be a very cool truck for sure. I will buy the parts and make my Maxx longer I already have widemaxx kit so will buy the other parts when available...
i stay with the v1 lenght, shorter wheelbase better flipping. also have an unbreakable shell on mine and the wmk so it's perfect as it is. also a 7000 4s from my hobby shop that fits perfect. cheers
Back in the day Traxxas did the same thing to the T-MAXX. 2.5 to 3.3. Only thing I don’t like is that Traxxas didn’t put bigger tires on the Maxx V2 like they did on the T-Maxx 3.3…. do they know something we should know??? I think the V2 Maxx looks bad with those wimpy sledgehammers…
I feel like larger tires decrease the durability of the car to a degree. When the car inevitably crashes/cartwheels/a bad landing, the larger tyres would exert a larger torque on all the arms and wheel hubs etc
Traxxas should let you send back your maxx v1 with proof of purchase & they should upgrade you're truck with the additional features for an additional 30 bucks 😁
It's not sooooo much longer its about 1.6 inches wider and about an 1 longer than it was before just buy the new replacement Chassis and then you have the V2 this isn't so amazing and out of this world. Traxxas should sponcer you if they quietly are not already because I promise you make them tons on money with your free promotion of their products Mr. Santa maria
He didn’t know what it costs or Color he got at start of video, so read between the lines that means Traxxas gave him this for promotional and review content. With the new charger update and the ID 4S they want promoted. Definitely an influencer kit IMO, and he should disclose that. Im not jealous, just think it’s needed for transparency and legal reasons.

It wouldn't cost $700 to upgrade a V1 to V2 spec, I don't think there is anything wrong with releasing an upgraded version of an existing truck. Other manufacturers do it all the time. Look at Arrma, they're on V5 of most of their trucks.

Am I the only one not seeing 300 difference in the new one?? Besides it’s a little longer they’re giving you a $50 widemaxx kit for $30 basically. I’d rather have the old one being shorter and more rigid, plus more of an 1/8 scale only on 4s that’s a slap in the face for $600!
@@alexp6409 The chassis alone will be close to $30. Widemaxx $50+. Tires $80+ for a set. Of course, you have to subtract the values of the original items, but this would still be worth around $30 more than the original. The longer chassis + widemaxx puts this in 1/8 scale territory. All it needs is revo size tires and it's a true 1/8. You want more, you pay more. It's fun to clown on traxxas for stuff, but an extra $30 to solve pretty much every single issue with the maxx? That's a good deal.
If you got the V1 is the really a reason to get this one? I'd be hard pressed to justify the means imo. Now as you said.. it would cost you $700 + out the door with the wm kit and lights. So if you don't have a Maxx (and you like the banana body more) then yeah get the V2.

It's a tank man. Our Arrmas handle a little better but our Maxx just keeps on chugging, the stupid hits I've seen my Maxx take and keep on running.

That would be quite a bit, you’d need an entire new longer chassis as well as the wide max kit with longer arms and drive shafts

They already have stopped production of the v1. So far they haven't stopped parts production, and they most likely won't, but time will tell.

I got that exact color on the way. Would have gotten the sledge but not feeling a aluminum chassie.

Pros and cons of v2 versus original?
Most specifically in regards to the longer chassis.
It will wheelie less and be slightly more stable. Plus it is larger and looks better proportionally with the widemaxx.
