I'm so glad I watched your video. I almost bought ones that, as it turns out, wouldn't have fit in my case. Now I'm going to get the Sunnylife ones instead. Thanks for this very helpful video!
Hello there. I am from Brazil and I have two out of the three you tested. I wanted to mention a problem I had. When I used the last one (black) you tested, I travelled with the drone to USA, that was two months ago, february. It bent the propellers slightly, but when I flew, I heard the drone had a different noise. After a minute or so hovering, it simply fell to the ground (luckil_ there was snow and it softened the fall)... No damages, and as soon I replaced the propellers all was good again. So, that one didn't work because of the propellers damage (left rear arm propellers were replaced). I guess the one which worked best for me was the silicon ones (you got a pair of gray and a pair of red), but I only use the upper ones in the original case. I also have similar dust proof case and on mine it fits perfectly with the protectors. One final word, I believe it work best because it holds the motors and don't press the propellers, while the other two models do. Regards and keep up with the good job
I did wonder about that, anything that puts pressure on the propellers has the potential to warp them over time. Especially as it looks like it holds them at an angle that would bring them in contact with the raised section in the fly more case which would put even more pressure on them.
Excellent info. Never considered interference with the case. I had ordered the DJI style, but after your video and looking at my case, I ordered the Sunnylife ones knowing that the drone will still fit!
I already ordered the Sunnylife and chose it because it looked like the one that would fit in the Mavic case. Looks like I chose the right one, Thanks.
I have been using the Sunnylufe propeller Holders for about a month now and Sunnylife propeller Holders do not fit in the original Dji mavic mini combo case this channel is giving mis leading information. Sorry
One rubber band going lengthwise and you're covered. Packet of a hundred at the Dollar Store. I WILL say that the biggest one here adds a lot of protection if you're not using the case and are going in a pack. Also, Merry Christmas.
How long have you left it with the rubber band on it? I have had instances where I've put a rubber band on something plastic and when I came back some time later, the rubber band had melted the plastic. Just wondering if the plastic that the drone or props would be affected by the rubber band.
@@daviddelle774 I have never heard of this, let alone experienced it. The elastic band has been on it since I've had the thing. I use one that only barely has to stretch to get around the drone so the band and device are not under much tension. Just enough to hold the props in place. Perhaps you had a band under great tension to get that result?
Thank you, Shawn. While watching the video, I was just thinking of asking you if you know how they fit in the hard case and then you answered it! Thanks for the nice review. Cheers.
Usually when I'm using the Propeller holder is when I'm not using the case, that's why I really like the DJI one . Much more secure to toss in my little backpack:)
I have the two separate rubber ones and despite your video, the Mini will fit back in the case that comes with the Mini. It is a bit tight though, so a little care is needed especially when removing them. However, a slight push down will easily put the Mini in place in the case. I also expect after time, they will fit better as removing them a few times will likely tend to pack the foam in the case. But either way, those little props can be so easily damaged by flopping around, that it's well worth it to buy the guards.
The SunnyLife holder - the one that fits in the Combo case - holds the rear propellers in exactly the position that has been causing all of the problems with warping, leading to motor overspeed and un-commanded descent since the 0.500 fw update. If anything it would make matters worse, as the width of the holder will compress the props even further. I have the Linghuang holders (bought from Amazon) that are similar to the iMusk holders but are solid (covering the motors and props completely). The Mini fits in the Combo case with them on, and although the bottom holder is retained by the case when you take it out it's as easy to hoik it out with a finger as it would be to remove it from the drone yourself. If you only want to carry the drone in your pocket or backpack the Cynova holder looks to be the best option, and if you only want to carry it in the Combo case an elastic band lengthways around the drone will hold the props in place (all 4 overlapping at each end) when packing it away, but if you want to do both the Linghuang holders are the only ones I've seen (and I spent a LOT of time looking) that fit the bill.
I can see that one that fits the case being a problem with prop distortion and subsequent prop overspeed warnings. I think the Cynova could result in the same problem, Seems like the iMusk may be the best for the prop, but will it affect the motor if it is too tight...
VERY useful, thank you. I wanted to get some and you have helped me make the correct choice (#3 since I have a case). Very very useful indeed. Thumbs up and thank you!
The sunova and sunny life require a gentle torqueing of the prop tips to secure them into/under the guards. Is there any danger of the props developing memory from being tucked in changing the pitch of the props and affecting stable/controlled flight?
Michael Close You made the right decision. I use the type that strap around the props and they distorted them, had to buy replacements and also bought the imusk, threw the other guards away.
Hi has anyone figured out which is the best propeller holder? I've only had my mini for a month (didn't use a holder) and found the propellor error when flying it... I've done so much research into it and just completely confused lol is it necessary to use the fly more case if I travel around with the cynova holder??
3:58 - ouuuuuch! you just bent the propellers with the raised area of the case... that actually happens if you press in the propellers without any protection, but not properly aligned.
I have installed the covers and find they work well. Living in Arizona we have a lot of dust so I feel they give some protection other than that I may not have use them
I purchased a brand called Skyreat that looks just like the Imusk and the Mini does fit into the carrying case. It's a little snug but I can take it out of the case without the guard being pulled off, so its not too snug.
very cool video, answered lots of questions, i purchased the last one you reviewed, you put it on backwards in the video lol but still my favorite of the 3
Hi I am using the Sunnylife propeller holder with the Dji Mavic Mini but it's a really tight fit in the Dji Combo case and the case doesn't close. Have you modified the case? Is your case an original Dji case? Have you tried closing your case? I have seen other video saying exactly the opposite to what your saying about the Sunnylife Propeller Holder. If you could answer my questions about this product that would be great thanks.
I started out with a strip of tape until I could get a solution ordered on line. I went with the silicone but now I have to say, for a case, I’ll get something more customizable than the one DJI sells in the fly-more kit. Anything with foam that could be trimmed should do.

I have the Fly More Combo and you would not really need the Prop holders if you are careful when putting the Mini in the case, the main issue I have with the Mavic Mini Combo is that the case that comes with it can hold the Drone, controller, cables, batteries / multi-charger but not the actual power adaptor! It would be great to have all in one case DJI failed on this one :(
Second one is best because they keep pressure off the blades the best. With the overload sensor update thing you dont want to bent the props tword the body at all Every single strap based one is no good for the mini

The secobd set put a little strain on the arms tho they have a plastic version of those that fits better and offers more protection 92 flights in and still swinging original props using the plastic version
@@grahamwalkingshaw6344 depends how hard its being pressed on, for me anything plastic on plastic is a no go since my bag is always tied down hard on my bike, have you ever used 'plastic' yagi antenna boosters? they give small micro scratches on the antennas, what's even worse is i've already had my more expensive mavic Air 2 bottom shell severely scratched from just it's own propellers even using propeller holders, been through 3 new bottom shell replacements before i decided to travel with the propellers off, basically if its not soft and there's pressure on it, it's gonna scratch

I simply used a piece of half inch Velcro. The light weight thin stuff that has hooks on one side loops on the other. Made a loop slightly wider then the widest root area of the prop. Slide the loop to that area on one prop and then start the tip of the other prop into the loop, once it's in the loop you slide the loop to the middle of both props. Easy, stays put, cost nothing since I already had it, and takes no space at all. Just have to remember to remove it before opening the arms. It blends into the props so well you will forget it's there. I put a remove before flight note under the props. If you don't remove the Velcro when the arms swing out it still comes off (flexible) but you will notice the resistance and you will be bending the blades slightly. That's why I made the note.
I was just going to put a velcro strap around the whole body to catch the propellers (like the product in the video), but your way would keep them straight. Cool idea!
Keep the propellers tucked in when you’re shoving with the drone in and out of the bag or backpack. They are always flopping about and you can catch them and snap them in half
