Hello brother my truck is doing rough acceleration from 1000-1300 rpm I have spend so much money I thought def is there problem I deleted it still does it u think it’s meter valve causing it or dirty throttle or dirty egr pipe please help
I have a 2017 Cascadia, DD15, DT 15. At about 1100 RPM, 12th gear, it surges. When I downshift or increase RPM, the surge goes away. No codes or check engine light. Can this be the metering valve?
Hey man, I watch all your videos and I'm reaching out because I'm in a bit of a bind. I'm a mechanic out of California, and I am having an issue where the truck won't build up enough heat to regen. On the regen screen on the lap top the fuel cut off valve stays at 0% and no dosing. I changed the 7th Injector, doser block, and line, engine harness, qcv, and still have the same issue. Any ideas what it could be? I'd appreciate any feedback
Thanks for reaching out and your support. You sound like your in the right track. I would Deff test the doser block and see if it’s putting out fuel. Run the hydrocarbon purge routine and see if fuel is sent to the doser valve. If it is than run a low temp regen and monitor your temps. One sensor should be drifting not allowing it to tell the doser block to dose.
I run the hydrocarbon purge and everything looks normal for about a second, the cut off goes to 100% and dosing says 95, then everything goes back down to 0 in about a second
@@bestweststarinc6607 if the valve gets replaced and he unit keeps surging. The issue is in the high press circuit. Fuel pump, fuel rail, or failed sensor in the rail.
Yes it is. But just a bit harder to get to. Everything on those are. There’s a nipple 3/4 socket size just to the left of the fuel filter module. I would drain it from there , just put a hose on it. I should have that in multiple videos incase that helps.

Isn’t the whole idea of watching TH-cam vids on repairs because you dont know what your doing,so your reaching out for help. Good luck fighting that back qcv bolt with the bracket not taken fully off.

Thanks for the positive words. Always need the good comments instead of all the hating from random people.

Thank you brother.
I was able to get this done because of your video.
Always appreciate the positive feedback. Hopefully more vids on this channel prove useful
Great job. It’s an idea to change that coolant hose while doing that job just because.
@@rambro24 changing that hose is a great idea if you have high mileage.
@ You right, like myself 900k still rollin.
I have replaced it twice without draining coolant i just moved the bracket away from that third bolt
Best Freightliner tech out there
You are awesome technician 👍👍👍I always watching your video
Excellent video. Do you need to recalibrate the new valve?
Thanks for your time. And great videos of yours.
Thanks for watching and reaching out. The fuel meter does not need to be calibrated. Just plug , play, and prime the fuel system.
Thanks for your time. And of course, for your videos.
Great video. Thank you so much for the information. Quick question after replacing this do we need to calibrate truck or not ? God bless you.
Im curious why you gotta drain coolant to replace the quantity control valve/ fuel meter
Only if you want to remove the 90 ;left coolant line at the air compressor. Or just work around it and fight it a little bit.

What size orings on that fuel line?
Can you be having problems with it , without having any codes popping up. I get surging when the truck is cold, when its warmed up its runs fine
How much would this job cost on a different cascadia where you have to remove the fuel filter base?
Good job Sir.
Good job!!

@@edder1128 great. Than that part is fine. Run the low temp regen and see if a sensor is drifting so much it’s stopping the regen to kick in.
What to do if after replacing the valve nothing changes? The truck keeps surging

I had the same issue and had to end up changing the fuel rail pressure sensor.@@bustedknucklebydieseldr3228
Is the fuel meter in the same location on the DD13? And do you have to drain the coolant

Nevermind i didn't watch the whole video
You don’t need drain coolant for replacing fuel meter he just built some extra time if you know what you doing should be only 15 minutes to replace
