  • We took a boat trip from Athens to the Greek island of Hydra for the day, and took a walking tour of the only town on the island to look at the sites and sounds of this glamorous town and the beaches and swimming spots available.
The history of the island is narrated during the tour.
Located approximately 70km from Athens, and 40km from Nafplio it is easy to visit via boat for a day trip, or a longer break in one of the many hotels.
Experience the glamour of the 50's and 60's heydays with a night round the amazing harbour in one of the many bars or restaurants or shopping around the town.
Where to visit in Greece, Island of Hydra.

Nice video. Only one correction. That 1st museum was the Lazaros Kountouriotis Mansion. The museum you mentioned is next to the Cathedral Church of Hydra.

Hydra is a beautiful island and extremely relaxing but tourist numbers have become excessive to the point where many regulars have started to avoid the island in the summer months. I would always recommend a visit here but just be prepared for huge crowds of tourists between June and September. Get up early to enjoy a more peaceful (and cooler) Hydra and avoid staying at a hotel or guest house around the port area if you want to experience real tranquility. 👍

Which island would you recommend for me for a day trip. I’d like a nice sandy beach and to sightsee! We wont be renting any vehicles maybe a bicycle depending on the island. Here are the islands im considering:
    Hydra, Aegina, Poros, Spetses, Andros

Any are good that you mention, I like Spetses, very relaxed vibe no cars and plenty of beaches, especially on a Bicycle. Hydra is nice (also no cars), more expensive, exclusive and rockier, but has beaches if you can get to them.
