Hi Steve, I really like the way your Stevens 44 is set up with the lever and sight combination, you were lucky to find that one. Love those long skinny cartridges, the .25-25 and also the .28-30 !!! Best regards......Doc

Thanks Doc. It was an unusual find and having a great bore is a big plus 😀

Excellent video. I have a soft spot in my heart for old Stevens Single Shot Rifles. You do an excellent job on your videos and I really learn a lot from them!
Oh, and one other thing, that is a great bow tie sir!

Hi Steve, In case you don't already know, You can source brass for obsolete, odd ball and long forgotten Calibers from Midway USA. I have a lot of the old, less than popular calibers and I have always been able to obtain brass form Midway.

What a neat gun. Love the old stuff. Especially WWI Military.

Very interesting. Are the bullets the same diameter as other .25 Caliber rifles? Did you slug the bore? Are those heeled bullets? Are the brass for those blank primers?

Nominally, yes. Same size as other 25s. But this one is tight at the muzzle - .253". But a cartridge with a .258" bullet chambers and shoots fine. It may be choked a little. This is a centerfire case.

What color acorn blank, powder, and grns are you using in the 22 hornet / 25 Stevens coversion.

Your question is under my Stevens .25-25 video, which is centerfire. But to answer your question, I use starter pistol blanks in my .25 Stevens with a separate powder charge.
