Joseph Tingle I’m so happy being useful 😊 thank you for your comment. No I haven’t read Zhang Ailing but i watched a movie “Lust , caution” and I loved it. I’m going to read the book. Did you read any Zhang Ailing?
@@nadzeiya_teacher Not yet. I'm not at the level yet where I can effortlessly read Chinese authors and want to save Zhang Ailing for when I can. I am currently reading Lotus by Zhang Lijia (in English) which is a little bit like Shanghai Baby. I am at HSK4 at struggle to find things I can read effortlessly other than graded readers.
Just here as a Chinese reccomending two GREATEST chinese authors. 1. Lu Xun, he is almost officially considered as the greatest chinese author. He was the father of modern chinese literature and the one who literally CHANGED the way EVERY SINGLE CHINESE thinks. 2. JIn Yong, his name is known by every chinese. He is famous for Wuxia genre, a very unique type of novel that is kind of similiar to ancient tales of knights or things like that which emphasize chilvary. His novel really started a kind of Chinese culture. It will be very hard, though, for people who aren't familiar with CHinese culture to read his novels. I really do not recommend anyone to read the translated version, because a lot of words and phrases in Wuxia novels can only be expressed precisely in Chinese.
Thank you for uploading! I’m studying abroad in China soon and wanted to read some books by Chinese authors✨
lulu that’s great, you will definitely have great time in China 🤗
