    This auction itself is so far the oddest and strongest piece of performance art online I've seen. Crazy energy! These people make this art live, money melt and time condense.

    • @thiscosmicshirleytemple8301
      @thiscosmicshirleytemple8301 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      "money melt and time condense" Yes. As with Sartre. Human existence, burdened by facticity and contingency, is on the other hand condemned to freedom. But is the event anti-performative or simply non-performative? 😏In any case, Pina Bausch could have made a great production out of it.

    They had to have an intermission in order to raid the local kindergartens for more pieces to sell. The Lot 17 Joan Miro which sold for 20,650,000 pounds was a world record for a 4 year old artist I believe!

BUT people like beltracchi, did his crime also only for the money, his own art didn't work to survive! if you fake a 'max ernst', a man who dedicated his whole life to art after terrible WWI experience, create a unique style and 60 yrs. later a fool come a stain it!

    Who said that the economy is going bad again?

    • @kayem3824
      @kayem3824 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      When the economy goes bad things like paintings become good investment, because they have the potential of rise in price more than other commodities, as well as the fact that they always keep their moneysry value, meaning no risk. In bad economies a minority become very rich, and there are always speculators who shift their investments to things like art works. In good economies people spend their monies on luxury.

      Glad to know someone else mentions that Vienna-based AB must be looking at Egon Schiele

    • @lluhu
      @lluhu 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@sildibar3631 I must say that I like some of the works of Boafo. However, in my opinion, Boafo uses Egon more than as an inspiration, he literally copies him, rips him off!! Even his signature is in a box like Egon's!! The only reasons why for many Boafo's works may seem "new" is that 1) he paints black people; 2) he uses pop-art colors for the clothes. That's all. Nothing else. And then, as Boafo himself gets so extremely close to Egon's works, then we can easily compare them and 1) Boafo does not have the drawing skills of Egon. Also not the painting skills of Egon, also not the composition skills of Egon and 2) Egon did his works around 100 years ago.
      It is true that Egon copied a lot from Klimt in his beginnings, but soon after he proved to have his own view and "style". Boafo's recent mega-success is not understandable, as there is little new in his works. Now, why is Boafo making it to the top so quickly?...answer: he clearly has the right contacts.
