This is one of the best Bruce's songs written by him ..brings tears to eyes everytime.
Live After Death.... aside from a video, it's an entire live album.
their best live album, also my 1st Iron CD back in the 90's
@@agauermEn Vivo in Chile is a close second. I was there and it was amazing. Live after death is the undisputed champion of live albums.
This song was written by frontman Bruce Dickinson. One of his first Maiden songwriting credits
My favorite live maiden concert!!
World Slavery Tour was my 1st concert (Accept opening). Started out at the top, 2nd show was Dio. Talking about being spoiled.
I agree. And I was at Rock in Rio. But LAD was top
I loved this album when I was a teenager first hearing it in about 1988. It was constantly on my walkman or stereo. It made me want to see them live for myself even more! Yep, even after 36 years, hearing this one song again, makes me realise how lucky I was discovering all this great music back then!
Classic Maiden! LOVE IT
At the time in 1985 and still so, regarded very highly as a live album and video. But they were still young boys comparatively speaking, and subsequent tours and professionally shot live recordings reveal much better versions of some of these songs. They've learned and matured so well as a live band, even to this day almost 40 years later.
Up the Irons🤘
The best, the best live Iron Maiden album. Live After Death. I remember first time when I saw it 1989. Long time.. in that time is was top album.
Best live album of all time \m/
The opening lyrics are from a poem by the great G.K. Chesterton. You guys should check out his writings. His poetry is great and his critiques of modern society still stand one hundred years later.
I believe it's actually I hymn that Bruce had to sing back when he was at his posh school!
My favourite iron maiden album…Piece of Mind!
This is the one of the best live albums ever.
Steve Harris, the bass player is the founder of Iron Maiden and writes a lot of the music & lyrics. He’s also one of a kind & irreplaceable.
In fact, apart from a couple of songs written by the other band members, 99% of the songs are written by him.
@@Stonefalconetti 70% max
I'd have to say Steve and Dave are the true irreplaceable members but if anyone left now I think they'd call it quits. I worry for Nicko's health but still wouldn't want to see them with another drummer
Guitarist Adrian Smith left the band for a few years in the early 90's and you are right, his sound could not be replaced.
They kept Janick still. Pardon my spelling.
They kept Janick still. Pardon my spelling. Im seeing em live in October
It's weird but to me always sounded like he played the guitar backwards...unique sound and one of the most underrated players.
Fun fact: This is the only Iron Maiden song where Bruce plays guitar, and in Brazil, at the historic Rock In Rio in 1995, when playing this song, he hits the guitar on his left eyebrow and blood starts to spurt and he continues singing with the bloody face.
UPS THE IRON!!!
it was being filmed on tv and the manager when he tried to stop the bleeding said no bruce it looks great on tv
1985
Such a great Maiden week its been
Attitude.....Bruce Dickinson doesn't take shit from anyone.
That guy lives life to the fullest! Who else would perform a WWI dog fight reenactment above the stadium then land & perform with the band right after?
They were just hitting their stride as this period began. Quality sound and chops from the guys-Rush quality transitions and time signatures, AND lyrical content as well.🤘🖖✌️🥁🎸🎸🎤
Iron Maiden, Best Rockband, ever💥👽
Wow never had seen Bruce with a guitar. Cool video of a terrific song. Classic Vin and Sori discussion, loved it!
saw them back around 1990 or so. iron maiden is one of those bands that doesn't like to do anything in the studio that they can't do live, so they are really good at replicating their songs live the way you hear them on the album.
They were my first concert at 10 in 86 for Somewhere in Time & now I get to take my daughter to see em in Chicago in October. They’re still just as energetic as they were back then. Pretty good for a bunch of grandpa’s!
Iron Maiden live is a life enhancing experience, have no doubt 🎼🎵🎵🎶🎶❤️
Iron Maiden is the band of my life. Greetings from Chile🇨🇱🇨🇱
Revelations is off their superior Live After Death live album. There's good reason for choosing this version.
Great Great You all gotta see this GREAT CLIP.... THANKS....
Best version of this song... a gem from the 80s
An easy way for the blind to go
A clever path for the fools who know
The secret of the Hanged Man, the smile on his lips....reference to tarot.
She came to me with a serpent's kiss
As the Eye of the Sun rose on her lips
Moonlight catches silver tears I cry
So we lay in a black embrace
And the seed is sown in a holy place
And I watched, and I waited for the dawn
The light of the blind
You'll see
The venom that tears my spine
The Eyes of the Nile are opening
You'll see.....kundalini rising up the spine.
Excellent analysis.
No!!! He’s meaning don’t take our ambition from us as in Thunder. Take not our ambition but take our ego that causes us to do wrong to get ahead in life
Peice of Mind album was a troll to the Santanic panic.
it's a song about opening a pair of curtains
Up The Irons 🤘
Iron Maiden is definitely a live band. If there is a live version of a song that is the one to listen to because 99% of the time it's way better than the studio version.
Maiden have to be live!
You guys reacted to this song already, four years ago.
For Sori - Sydney version is better....😃
This song may have been a major influence in actually reading some Bible 📖 🎸
Rime of the ancient mariner flight 666 live... les recomiendo saludos desde Chile.
No, please. No.
Bruce is actually a rather arrogant dude... Except "the big homie" has ALL the skill to back it up! But yes, he has an attitude/powerful personality.
Oh, by the way, don't hate me: Maiden is my favorite band, I ain't hatin'!
Maidens one of the few bands that's ALWAYS better.
OMG I stuck around for the review, jesus you guys are reading WAY too much into this... it's just a religion-themed rock/love song, nothing more. It's baffling how you attach so much of your own interpretation of christianity to this, like every christian I guess; making up shit they like and creating a god to fit it.
Because it is a great and well written song, it evokes thought and emotion. That's why they are having a genuine discussion. You can stick with songs like Pour Some Sugar on Me. I'll take Revelations.
@@Uuusssaaas Did I say I didn't like the song? I was just saying that these two talk a lot of shite, that's all:) By the way, Pour Some Sugar On Me is kinda bollocks.
A religion themed song on a reaction channel..............how else would they talk about it. I knew it was one of Bruce's but hadn't clicked to the G.K Chesterton poem. Maiden have often drawn from poetry as well as history and the bible.
@@jacksprat9172 I know all that, I'm just amazed at the ability of Americans to spout utter nonsense and make everything about them and their beliefs.
