Hi Francis I bought two new discs (Brembo) and they have been fine so far, I wouldn't try to fix the run out by shimming the disc the component is far to safety critical for that in my opinion. I look after my disc by removing them from the wheel if I have new tiers fitted because I think this is when they can be bent by accident by the tire fitters, hope this is of help and thanks for commenting, John from sunny Devon UK
Hi Egg1456, thanks for commenting and the tip I realise now that the run-out shown was within tolerance, I didn't know how to read the dial gauge, it turned out that the problem was knackered wheel bearings.

You can bend the rotor back to get rid of the runout +/- .01 mm is easily attained and wont be felt at all.
