    Interesting….. I’ve never heard of doing this, but I was interested to see the results and I was also waiting to see if you made another point. You didn’t, so I have to mention to not throw out these brushes if you’re into mixed media! - They’re perfect for ‘mark making’, where stray motley hairs don’t matter. - Even painting with plants out of the garden are perfect for making your own signature, random marks. Even tying a few together would work. That way, no brushes are wasted, and you might even discover a ‘secret sauce’ winner brushstroke in your mixed media paintings.

      I still love a lot of these brushes! We've got oodles of busted, old, ragged brushes at our school and you're very right - they are still useful for all kinds of purposes. Foliage, natural formations, fur, hair, and organic forms I think can be made using flayed brushes. My dad has made a long video using busted brushes he loves and has purposefully destroyed for this very reason 🙂 Jess
