Nice job, I’m looking into raising some quail in mid 2024 so I’m learning as much as I can. Thanks for sharing and hope you have a Merry Christmas.
I've never seen quail hatch. How neat!
Thanks for watch! It was so much fun and I'm hooked. Will definitely be hatching more.
So exciting, Today is my lockdown day, Just found your channel. You had a good hatch rate!
How exciting, Best of Luck, I've been lucky with the Hatch rates. Hardest part is not opening the incubator once they start hatching. It can take 2-days for them all to hatch and you have to leave the 1st hatchlings in there.
We have the same incubator. Not my favorite ones for quail eggs. We ended up buying a quail rail for our little giant. It now holds something like 120 eggs. And we got sooooo many babies.
Just finished my 2nd hatch and so far my hatch rate has been 95 % I live in an HOA neighborhood so I'm good with small batch. I start a batch a few weeks before I harvest. So far so good.
hi I wonder if you could show the set up that you have your quails living in please. appreciated
I would except I don't have any quail at this time. I will hatch again in spring. I havea hatching time brooder then they move outside to growout cages, basically 2 x4 rabbit hutch. I have 6 of those so I can separate them into color groups with 1 roo for every 6-8 hens. 1 cage just for extra roos
My eggs flown from California to Ohio started hatching on day 16 and last one hatched on day 19
65% successful on my eggs
That's awesome! I'm waiting on eggs now coming from Florida
Maybe I missed it but what was your hatch rate you got?
I've hatched several since the batch in this video. My average hatch rate runs between 85 - 95% I have had one batch that hatched 100% but lost 2 in the first week. My most recent batch was 12 eggs, 11 hatched lost 1 10 are now 2 weeks old.
I got like 300 eggs I hope we have good hatch rate, seems to not be so good
WOW! That's a lot of eggs! Are they from your own quail or did you get them from someone else? I'm gonna hatch some blue egg layers next.
@@go_Rogue they are from my quail....lol
@@NoneyaTexasontheback20 So you know the eggs aren't fertile untill 2 weeks after the male is with the female
That could effect your hatch rate
Are use the same incubator got the eggs from the same people almost none of them hatched out of that incubator, and then I bought a different incubator off of Amazon, and almost all of them hatched out of the other incubator that was cheaper. It was only like 100 bucks
I have 2 Nurture right 360 and typically get a 90% hatch rate. Got these off of Amazon too, not expensive
Bad to move to brooder on day 1 or no?
Chicks can stay in the incubator for up to 3 days but I find they get really hungry so I typically move them to the brooder after 24 hours unless I have several other eggs that have pipped then I will wait until it's safe to open the incubator.
New friends here just subbed, come on over for a visit. Look forward to connecting. We just hatched out a bunch of barnyard mix chicks. We have never done quail definitely on the list one of these days. Blessings
So you lockdown on day 15
For quail , Yes, of chickens No
What do you do with them?
I raise them for meat and eggs
How many out of your 30 hatched?
Thanks for visiting I had 92% hatch rate on this batch so 27 hatched. I just hatched another 30 last month and humidity issues but still had a 50% hatch rate. nd I have another 20 in the incubator now. should hatch out next week
I have 24 in the incubator right now jumbos I got from myshire. Can't wait to see what I get.
@@happyhoppershomestead8664 love myshire always have great hatching rates with their egg.
I got eggs from an Etsy seller and got 2 out of 30. Never again
Carla, if you're single and like your men big, buff and free spirited you should meet my stepson Jeffery!
Not sure how to reply to this...Thanks??
Creepy
I am addicted to this help 🥹 i keep incubating every 17 days 🤣
It is habit forming. And that's okay as long as you can care for them or have a plan for rehoming them. The first bad hatch and you'll slow down.
