    Those Nova drills are awesome! I've got both the 4000rpm & 2600rpm for my build...

      @PlaneLady  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah, it's great! We just have the 4000rpm; I'm curious why you have two - what do you use the 2600rpm for that you don't use the 4000rpm with? Always looking for good tips from other builders 😊

      @@PlaneLady I use the 2nd one so I can easily drill & countersink without constantly switching bits or switch between the #30 & #40 bit. Not sure I needed 2 different rpms, but just wanted to try them both just out of curiosity.

      Jason Tremper good idea! Clever use of 2 drills to make things a bit easier. Thanks for the response. When you mentioned the different rpm I was wondering if you found the speed made a difference somehow.

      @@PlaneLady I personally like the 2600 better because I can feather it slower to start or when countersinking, but not sure it really makes a whole lot of difference

    Why is there a rectangular hole in your wall at the left side of video? So far, your video is great!!!!!

    What tools will I need to build? Assume I have no tools in my garage, for clarity.

      Hey! The RV-10 tool kit on Cleaveland Tools is a great place to start. We started with that and have added other things as needed (or wanted, to make certain tasks easier/faster). You’ll also need a band saw to cut some of the necessary aluminum parts. A drill press would also be a great idea. Hope that helps!

    You have to debur the front and the back of the holes?

    • @PlaneLady
      @PlaneLady  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, both sides

    I didn't think the RV10 needed match drilling?

    • @PlaneLady
      @PlaneLady  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You might be thinking of final drilling. The pre punched holes are final sized in the 10 kits now, but there is still match drilling needed in the parts without holes (such as match drilling the skins to the stiffeners or longerons)

    I am totally subscribing to you guys. I am debating, no wait I am ready to start purchasing my kit. The question I have is 1. is there a list of tools I will need for empannage section which is what I am purchasing first. Also do you guys have experience building. I am a total beginner and a bit nervous. Instructions easy to read and understand? Here is my email if you prefer to answer that way. I am so looking forward to your build.

      Hey! How exciting that you’re ready to get started with your own 😊 I don’t see your email so I’ll answer here. 1) we bought our tools from Cleaveland Tools and they have tool bundles for the different RVs, so there is one for the RV-10 with all the different rivet sets and drill bits and what not that you’ll need for the emp kit. And you can switch stuff out in their kit, like if you want to upgrade from the c-frame to the DRDT2. 2) so we had never built a plane before, but the instructions are pretty clear and there are lots of diagrams. What we did before starting our emp kit that I would recommend is we bought a couple of Van’s RV training projects from their online store and made those. It was a good way to learn how to use our tools and get comfortable with them and see what the directions are like. We did 2 or 3 each and I think it was really helpful. Hope that helps! 😊
