ATTENTION ALL! in the video I stated the loose torso. *it wasn't really loose* but what you'll want to do before doing the knots is line all the body parts up in the correct position and do good tied knots till you get a good tightness. I've tried this with other bodies and it has worked! If your string breaks or its too loose. Try again until you get it!
You may get a tighter fit using a thicker cord being able to tie it tighter. The elastic band is essentially a rubber band wrapped in fabric. A thicker gauge cord could be stronger though it might be a pain getting it through the little eyelets on the joints.
I did restring a couple more and fixed the looseness, the cord isn't the problem since anymore thicker I'm afraid it would be to big for the holes. I think this is a process to repeat till you get the desired tightness. I did it with frankenstein and it isn't loose
@@JosephProductions I had the elastic cord break as I was tying it and thought if the cord was a wee bit stronger I could get tighter ties without the cord breaking and Mego parts flying to all corners of the room.
Hi i got two new Mego's and unfortunately, the J hook of the legs broke. I can not find J Hook pins for the legs. Could i just use string for the legs?
Thanks for the info!! I have the new superman but the shoulder keeps going askew. After taking a look at the set up I thought that hole was going to go bad fast. This should work on FTC as well?
Ah so that's what is breaking. Bought some other 1/9 scale bodies and they also have too much O-ring tension so it seems to be a common problem, why they don't just use a bigger ring idk lol. They must be cheaper or there are no factories that can string figures anymore. Probably need a whole other kind of band for Mego bodies, like a rubber starfish with a thick middle and arm bands spoking outward to the limbs.
@@JosephProductions the one I saw is a prototype so I was worried about the torso I can't wait for that Deathstroke I mentioned couple of days ago thanks for the reply take care and keep up the great work
So I remove head by heating it up with a hair dryer. Then I drill a 1/32 " pilot hole in the center of the top of the neck plug. Next, using the new pilot hole, open the hole to 3/16 ". I then string through the neck plug with 2mm beading chord. Same as how you did it. I finish by tying the knot using the new neck plug hole, so like vintage type 1, the knot is in the top of the torso. Finally reattach the head by heating up and pushing back into place. Same technique, different variation.
Yep! I do the same on other body's. But if someone doesn't want to remove the neck plug then I did this for a work around. I definetly prefer going through the neck hole.

Another JosephProductions hit!-Good work Shep!

@@DanClassic yeah definetly don't stress it too much. I did pull hard but definetly not too much pull.

Hey Joseph did you see the new mego body what's your thoughts on it ? I don't remember seeing strings on the new body
Oh yeah ive seen it, the new ones are bandless and thankfully, we won't have the restringing issue anymore. It's time for a great upgrade!

Half the video is out of frame but got the idea. Thanks
@ActionTeamJoe Yeah I had a piece of shit iPad and barely any skills on how to use it lol, glad to have helped
Now we know where robot chicken get their bodies from
That's because Paul Clarke supplied them with parts.
Can I use yo yo string instead of elastic string?
No, just elastic
Does anyone else notice that the Dracula toy has two left hands
Yeah it's kinda obvious lol, I replaced it a couple weeks later
Why does he have two left hands?
Factory error
Perfer "old mego"bodies, bodies were soft, gave figures a more doll like feel!
