That happened to my ex-husband as well. He didn't use the brake at all and then somehow the sled slipped out from underneath him on a turn and he slid on the slide about 10ft. It was awful. We ended up at hospital for hours while they cleaned and stitched him up. One "scrape" on his knee was so deep you could see the bone.

My friend fell off this in the early 90's and had to have part of her arm skin grafted from the injury. Scared me enough that I have never been on it.
