Opaz, I bit the bullet and purchased the HDMs. Took 10 months but finally came to my doorstep last week. You were spot on, on how great these speakers are. I was very proud of my Bose F1 system but, these HDMs are a different animal all together. Low volume, no problem, high volume no problem, indoor setting, no problem, outdoor setting, no problem. That's how great the DSP is on these speakers vs the 945s. I played many different types of genres on these speakers and was blown away at how different and better they sounded vs my F1s. Thank you for posting this video, it solidified my intuition about RCF and the HDMs.
I got the HDM 45a about 2 months ago and man let me tell you guys that this is the best speaker I have ever bought and ever heard. It will leave you in awwww. The only speaker that will compare or beat it is its higher end RCF speakers. Way worth the money.
Hey Opaz.. I'm a big fan of your videos. I'm a dj, and I want to upgrade my speakers from k12.2 this year. I'm split btw Hdm 45, Nxl 24, and Nx 45a. In 2024, is Hdm 45 still your go to speaker?
Hi. Love this video. My friend got these HDM45s and loves them. I have had QSC K12s and KSub for 10+ years. I’m due for a speaker upgrade as my DJ business is growing. Was considering going QSC K12.2 and KS212C Sub. How would you compare those to these RCF HDM45s? Also what Sub do you recommend pairing with HDM45s? Thanks!
I have K12.2's and the HDM's are on a TOTALLY different level. The 12's have a good mixer but That Is It!! The result is you'll have a very flexible & serious sounding PA system Demo the subs if possible to see what suits your requirements
Holy shit! What the heck! Opaz your the man! “Don’t demo it just buy it!”The HDMs are ridiculous. I have the 745mk4s and they sound excellent. But the HDM at higher volumes and the far listening and the changing DSP settings absolutely murders the 745s. It literally drowns my Rcf 8004 sub at high volumes. The detail even at high volumes slices your head off. Stand in front of these speakers turn up the volume and see who peaks first! Lol. Power! Just buy them! I have just bought a pair of these and I'm a singer and have always used passive speakers with separate amp in the past. I have set them at 7.0 but some people say run on full and others say run much less. I use WAV backing tracks rather than MP3's and on speakers like this you do hear the difference in quality. Thanks James. There isn't a setting that sounds the best. I change it depending on where I play, music I'm playing or positioning outdoor, indoors or pole.
@@opaz. I got them yesterday...WOW. The Detail!! The clarity up top is better than my HDL6a but also has way more bottom than those. I'm so impressed and thankful for your review.
I would buy the HDM over the 114a. More power, better fuller low end, cleaner more refined throughout the range. The HDM is a true 15" also has cleaner more refined HF. I've never heard the Mitus so can't comment
OK. So 2x RCF HD 10A (10 inch) and RCF Sub 702-AS II (12 inch) Sub or two RCF HDM 45-A? Price wise they are the same. I need a bass for Techno so I thought smaller setup would be better. However bigger speakers would be better for future upgrade and should have decent bass. I play max for 100 People in medium sized room. For bigger gigs we just rent stuff.
OPAZ, would the RCF 7005 AS 2 subs have enough power to run with either of these or would they overpower the subs? I don't have the space to carry 2 18inch subs. ( I will be running 2 7005 subs) I currently run with BOSE F1 SYSTEMS ( TOPS & F1 SUBS)
What about now New 945a series speaker, on paper 945 is louder about 2db at peak, so assume it would allways be 1-2db louder ad continuous power before clip each speaker, but hdm says its 2200w 945 2100w, wich is better without sub, with sub i have heard 745 and they can keep up with big ones of subs, but when u use just them without sub, is hdm more fatter puncher couse all rcfs i heard now are good in punch, they dont have that shaky "thing" in them wich is normal they are not subs, is 945 better for throw couse of extra "2db" and hdm for heavy puncher and 945 more thingt punching speaker or hdm wins in everything, exept they are just same in output? In overall wich is better now to buy as a pair ofc, and use without subwoofers?
Hi Opaz and thank you for this. How would you compare this to the DB technologies es1203 ? for example - would you take 2 HDM's over a single 1203 ? how about 2 1203's vs. 2 of HDM ? what would you prefer ? who has more power ? better sound quality ? Thx in advance :)
The HDM's are true winners in their own right! The HDM's have their own place in certain applications, the dB too. I'd have to choose the dB. One unit split in stereo is very effective and ideal for small to large crowds. Two dB's, well... that's absolutely something else!!!. The true punchy and hard hitting low LF performance is outstanding which if needed is there, making me to favour the dB over the HDM's
overall ouput volume is 133db for both models. when you do a shootout between the 745 and the hdm45 you realize how much better the HDM45 is. the low mids are much much better in the HDM45. The 745 sounds thin in comparrison.
Ok so now I need to sell my es1203 and get theses? I feel like the es1203 are missing low-mid a lot... and the sub is heavy, so 2 hdm no subs could cover 100 peoples?
Great review. I am thinking about buying them and later new 9004 sub. I was thinking more 12 inch size but there is no option there. So 15 must be it. I play mosty electronic music and Techno so I hope they will keep up without a sub for a while.
If you like your bass reinforcement, go for the combo. I have found that on many events I could just use the hdm's I have never heard the 735 or the 708 You must remember, guests and clients aren't bass mad. .. it's the dj If subs aren't at an event, nobody will know!
Purly on bass which has better, 745 i have heard in person even 1 is crazy loud for me so im happy with midh high level of 745 but in bass wich hits better shakes better, im talking without subs so smaller events etc.,?

Can't understand the recent interest everywhere concerning the Evox 12. It sounds good, nothing spectacular. I bought it 5 years ago, wouldn't even think of buying it today. There are so many column PA systems that are better. It is dated, very heavy, has virtually no DSP onboard, limited inputs & overpriced Evox might have more throw than the HDM (only might!!!) It will have better LF with its 15" sub More detail??? No! Although I'll have a complete PA system buying the Evox, all day long I would buy the HDM for what it is capable of. The HDM is a real stunner Think this calls for an upload 🤔
@@opaz. I haven't ordered them yet lol.I am in debate if to get the RCF 745 or the RCF HDM 45a to go with my QSC ks118 subs Big difference in price. What do you think? I like to play my music not push it.
Now I'm completely thrown, yeah don't demo it, buy it, now that's what we like to hear, Sounds to me yes your certainly blown away by the Rcf hdm 45 - A Hmmmm 🤔 and to walk into any size venue with just 2 of these is incredible to believe, Martin Audio CDD lives were suggested to me but crazy crazy price, But I'm sure from what your saying the Hdm at more than half the price of the 15's would be a very close match if not better than the CDD Live 🤔🤔🤔👍
Ok, i just listened HDM 45 Where is Wow effect? I must mention that my 745 are mk4, just look how RCF explain what is Fir Phase technology so it should sound much better then 745 old version. But instead hdm 45, i just not feel that difference. Shure there is, testing on Flac, Wav, but i'm a DJ, using a 320kps files This speakers on L1 feel like has more bass, but 745 with boost act the same. Hanldes are more confortable, couse they are slitly tiny, but not feel so solid as on 745. Powercon in out is must have feature! also DSP presets. But overall, the difference is not such noticible. I'll make more comparison tests later, but as i mentioned... 745mk4 is not 745 mk2 ;)
@@opaz. I must reedit that comment just finished to listen them side by side and its just like you sad Till i'v heard HDM, the 745 was etalon for me. So when I'v listened HDM only, i did't notice difference But when put them side by side, its just like you sad, like somebody change sound on 745 I feel them like - 745 sound like the artist is right in front of you, and HDM is like there is a Hall effect. HDM bass sounds like there is a bass unit hiden somewhere behind, and 745 like lost his bass. To be honest, i cant say what is better, is just a different caracter of sound And yes, HDM are defenitly louder, at list on low ends.
Not to worry Kristien, you still have an incredible pair of speakers. I'm still glad i bought my 745's, would never change that. They've got me so many great reviews with their performance. I still have mine and i always will 👍

@@opaz. I got them yesterday...WOW. The Detail!! The clarity up top is better than my HDL6a but also has way more bottom than those. I'm so impressed and thankful for your review.
So glad you're happy with them Nicholas. 👍🏻
How does it compare to the FBT ProMaxx 114a or Mitus 152a (if you've heard it)?
2 HDM-45A's 👍
mikelo303 dont even bother with 702 i had 705 it was okay nothing wow but you would need two. Think am
Going 2021 HDM
Hello,
Is it worth for live band?
Thanks
Yes
OPAZ, would the RCF 7005 AS 2 subs have enough power to run with either of these or would they overpower the subs? I don't have the space to carry 2 18inch subs. ( I will be running 2 7005 subs) I currently run with BOSE F1 SYSTEMS ( TOPS & F1 SUBS)
They will overpower those subs
OPAZ Thanks Opaz!
Hdm45 its better than rcf hdl10 for dj or band.?
No idea, never listened to the hdl10

The true punchy and hard hitting low LF performance is outstanding which if needed is there, making me to favour the dB over the HDM's
i also just bought a pair of 745 because HDM was out of stock, but shurely will get a pair of HDM
But the big question - is HDM louder then 745?
overall ouput volume is 133db for both models. when you do a shootout between the 745 and the hdm45 you realize how much better the HDM45 is. the low mids are much much better in the HDM45. The 745 sounds thin in comparrison.
@@thenightlifenj1 did you listen both models?
@@djsergiubulgar4922 all of them. It's my job. I work for RCF.
@@thenightlifenj1 where? USA?
@@djsergiubulgar4922 yes.
Ok so now I need to sell my es1203 and get theses? I feel like the es1203 are missing low-mid a lot... and the sub is heavy, so 2 hdm no subs could cover 100 peoples?
One HDM can cover 100 people
Omg ok im convinced lol 2x es1203 for sale over here!!!
Same price as an Evolve 50. So... 2 HDM45s or 2 Evolve 50s? (Wedding DJ 125-225 people)
No comparison, 2 HDM's
How does the HDM 15 compares to the ART 715 sound wise?
Never heard the 715
Great review. I am thinking about buying them and later new 9004 sub. I was thinking more 12 inch size but there is no option there. So 15 must be it. I play mosty electronic music and Techno so I hope they will keep up without a sub for a while.
You need to listen to these, they are that good!!!
Nice review
2x 735 mk4 + 708 as mk2
Or 2x Hdm 45a
Same price do I need the sub
Thanks waiting for your reply
If you like your bass reinforcement, go for the combo. I have found that on many events I could just use the hdm's
I have never heard the 735 or the 708
You must remember, guests and clients aren't bass mad. .. it's the dj
If subs aren't at an event, nobody will know!
@@opaz. thanks for your great advice 👍
Purly on bass which has better, 745 i have heard in person even 1 is crazy loud for me so im happy with midh high level of 745 but in bass wich hits better shakes better, im talking without subs so smaller events etc.,?
HDM
@@opaz. Thx sir, speaker in cart and cheks out ^_^ if i wrote correctly ^_^ buying specificaly for parties of mines with friends i wanna banger but not to clip it ofc so becouse of that extra watts of hdm is nice to have headroom to save speaker ^_^ but i have readed different oppinions so couldnd find just simple answer wich to get in wich scenario… thx
What is the difference from the HDM45 and EVOX 12?
Shouldnt the EVOX 12 have more Detail and SPL? it is bigger and more expensive.
Can't understand the recent interest everywhere concerning the Evox 12. It sounds good, nothing spectacular. I bought it 5 years ago, wouldn't even think of buying it today. There are so many column PA systems that are better.
It is dated, very heavy, has virtually no DSP onboard, limited inputs & overpriced
Evox might have more throw than the HDM (only might!!!)
It will have better LF with its 15" sub
More detail??? No!
Although I'll have a complete PA system buying the Evox, all day long I would buy the HDM for what it is capable of. The HDM is a real stunner
Think this calls for an upload 🤔
@@opaz. i currently have 1 EVOX 12.
so do you think it not worth the Upgrade of a HDM45?
They are similar in output?
Two totally different systems. What application do you use yours for?
@@opaz. Range from 50 to 200 people
Events, partys, weddings.
Looking for the best sound quality.
thanks.
I'd prefer the Evox for that purpose
Compared it hd45a vs pro max 14a fbt , what do you think
HDM is the better all-rounder
@@opaz. Is the hd 45 to aggressive for under 150 people wedding indoor outdoor?
Aggressive!!?
@@opaz.meaning like the highs and mids too strong for close listening
How many people do you think that can handle? I'm interested in them.
200+
@@opaz. that's it... That's disappointing. I do events with 400 people.
1
@@opaz. so two coupled with the two 8004 subs think will handle a decent crowd?
@850+
Would like to watch the block video how to get a copy
Block video?
good video bro!
Cheers Patrick 👍🏼
You like this better than the fbt prommax 14a
Yup
@@opaz. i just bought a pair right now u were absolutely right
Enjoy!
I find the srx815 more bass heavy but super heavy
How do you compare the low end 745 vs hdm45 :?
HDM has the greater and better LF performance
@@opaz. how many meters is the powercon cable :?
3
Which of these two is the loudest at max?
All day every day HDM, I can't get them to peak
I'm going to order these today :) Thanks for the review.
👍🏻
@@opaz. I haven't ordered them yet lol.I am in debate if to get the RCF 745 or the RCF HDM 45a to go with my QSC ks118 subs Big difference in price. What do you think? I like to play my music not push it.
Get the 745's. They are fantastic with bags of detail and will partner that 118 well
@@opaz. Thanks appreciate your advice. Keep up the Excellent vids
👍🏻
I need hear both of them
Are these better than the Yamaha DZR line?
Never done a demo of the DZR, however I am certain that the HDM would give it a very good challenge.
Is this RCF better then the 945A?
Yes, the HDM is better
hai @@opaz. this is better in bass as well then 745?
Yes!
thank you!@@opaz.
👍🏻
We need a turbosound iq series review please
Unfortunately they don't produce anything that I think will improve on what I already have
NX45a or HDM45a? Which sounds better?
I just saw your NX745 vs 745a where you indicted the 745 was better. So based on that I am sure you would say the HDM is better than the NX
Absolutely Scott. The HDM is in a different league.
HDM 👍🏼
Now I'm completely thrown, yeah don't demo it, buy it, now that's what we like to hear,
Sounds to me yes your certainly blown away by the Rcf hdm 45 - A
Hmmmm 🤔 and to walk into any size venue with just 2 of these is incredible to believe, Martin Audio CDD lives were suggested to me but crazy crazy price, But I'm sure from what your saying the Hdm at more than half the price of the 15's would be a very close match if not better than the CDD Live 🤔🤔🤔👍
Martin, have you considered the FBT Mitus 152a, (bit heavy) but that's worth a listen
I bought it because opaz
Ok, i just listened HDM 45
Where is Wow effect?
I must mention that my 745 are mk4, just look how RCF explain what is Fir Phase technology so it should sound much better then 745 old version.
But instead hdm 45, i just not feel that difference.
Shure there is, testing on Flac, Wav, but i'm a DJ, using a 320kps files
This speakers on L1 feel like has more bass, but 745 with boost act the same.
Interesting, as FiRPHASE is on my NX and it doesn't sound as good my old 745 🤔
@@opaz. I must reedit that comment
just finished to listen them side by side and its just like you sad
Till i'v heard HDM, the 745 was etalon for me. So when I'v listened HDM only, i did't notice difference
But when put them side by side, its just like you sad, like somebody change sound on 745
I feel them like - 745 sound like the artist is right in front of you, and HDM is like there is a Hall effect.
HDM bass sounds like there is a bass unit hiden somewhere behind, and 745 like lost his bass.
To be honest, i cant say what is better, is just a different caracter of sound
And yes, HDM are defenitly louder, at list on low ends.
👍
@@opaz. hi my name is George I like for you to Sen me the video on the hdm45 vs 745 thank you
I'm not sure if I want to spend that much money on 2 tops man. either way you will need a sub.
They're great, honestly you don't need subs. I agree it's a lot of money but it's a lot of speaker!
@@opaz. I wish I could listen to them.
Can't justify them over an upload, impossible!
They are good!
@@opaz. I can tell the diff on your videos. You should make one.
@@opaz. so if I get these I won’t need sub for small to medium events of 150 and less ..the low end are that good
Thanks for myth busting the wood vs plastic, it’s all about the design of the speaker not the material.
Exactly, It's really common sense 👍
I cant watch this video i just bought the 745mk4 a month ago😫👍
Sorry mate
Not to worry Kristien, you still have an incredible pair of speakers.
I'm still glad i bought my 745's, would never change that. They've got me so many great reviews with their performance. I still have mine and i always will 👍
Use the music from epidemic .com, no problem
Art 745 A is the best
Looks like ill be selling my HD32A
Onwards and upwards!
We want sound review! we want sound review! we want sound review! :)
No need, the HDM is that good. Hopefully somebody else might provide one. Alternatively pop down to your local store and listen for yourself, that is the best demo.
