I always thought this was a neat game concept I was too trash to play.
I loved splitgate 1 so hopefully this is less "hero-shooter-y" than I originally thought when they revealed it
I was hesitant too about "hero shooter" but it really doesn't feel like it - just factions that give different equipment but not individual characters that do specific things.
@@Mr_Fruitreminds me of what they did with xdefiant, each faction from ubisofts titles each did something different unique to what they had in their own games, can’t wait to try this new split gate
@@Mr_Fruit Yeah it's okay as long as they don't have "roles" like in mobas, but just different playstyles

Ik the meme is sorta “halo with portals” but I see that as only a compliment. It’s just solid gunplay with a low floor, high ceiling gameplay loop

One of my friends is a dev for SG2! it's super sick and I love the changes they've made to it. After the first one came out and did good they got a whole bunch of new money so they basically remade it in a proper engine I believe and got like actual map designers and things to get more toward big boy AAA game quality

The concept of halo meets portal was such a solid foundation, now they've added hints of hero shooters and fps. Very excited to start thinking with portals again

I would love to see "iron banner bets" style split gate videos, or some of the other arena shooter hijinks you and the extended dreamteam have been able to get up to applied here. It has the same energy and if you love to play it I'd love to watch it.
I guess I was out of the loop because splitgate drop off the radar so fast for so long I thought it died, like server shutdown died, then I hear there is a sequel and apparently they have been doing fine this whole time, enjoyed the first one for the bit I played it

I like that they have designated locations for the portals. Definitely reduces server stress without having to account for random portal locations. Found out with the first Unreal Tournament that I don't do well with fast-paced shooter games. Love watching them get played, though.

My main problem last game was when people could put their portals inside of a spawn point and camp it entire game

This game was cool in concept, but you make it great! We love Fruit!!!!!!!
Ok I like the options to pick your starter weapon and the attachments, I don’t like the characters/abilities and I think the only 3 starting weapon options should be the ar, br, and dmr. And more pickup weapons. Maybe pickup abilities but I think portals is enough of an ability
So hyped for this game and to see Fruit bust out those godly Halo skills
Dude i was fucking w the alpha so much but im afraid its not gonna catch on with the general audiences bc of how intense the skill ceiling is. I'm so iffy on the abilities, I don't think they needed to be added but I guess 1047 felt like split 2 needed some type of draw to grab people from hero shooters.
I can see what you're talking about. I don't mind factions so much, but they do feel unnecessary and I think Aeros will be spammed so much when the game comes out.
The whole thing that made splitgate what it was is high octane portal insanity with weapons everyone can use. I hope they bring back all the other weapons, or equivalents, and make it so everyone can use everyone else's weapons.
Also bring the bat. It's a necessity.
As well as all the party modes and then some.
