Wallace and Gromit is one of the greatest thing to come out of my country. I love the film and the shorts. But it’s just amazing how dark the series is and how surreal moments of it are.
I know I can respect a creator when they accurately call it "stop-motion" instead of immediately jumping to "claymation" just bc it looks similar and uses some clay
As a fellow Aardman-loving autistic I absolutely loved this video! The editing and humour were top-notch and I appreciate the amount of research that went into making this. I hope your channel receives more recognition in the near future :) Something I’d like to add that wasn’t discussed on this list is that there are a few references to Wallace and Gromit in Aardman’s underrated adult series ‘Rex the runt’. One of which is Wallace himself making a brief cameo, only to get pushed from a window by one of the characters (th-cam.com/video/-4YI4t5qLho/w-d-xo.htmlsi=cXxYnWAWeKRWt-de). Also, s1ep4 is about the characters going to space, encountering aliens and going to a fast food place on one of the planets. When you mentioned the scrapped extras from ‘A grand day out’, that was the first thing that came to mind. (Apologies for how long this comment is!)
An extra detail about the Wallace Unleashed shop, there's actually a physical location just outside Bristol, it's pretty cool, grabbed some stuff there once or twice. They've got a big model of the rocket in there and all. I am prepared to fight anyone who claims the Mall is in Bristol get off it.
How is Wallace not a billionaire. He built a rocket that has artificial gravity back in the 90's which even to this day we don’t have. Plus that rocket was able to get to the moon in a matter of minutes, whereas most rockets take days to get to the moon. And at tops Wallace made that rocket in a few days.
God im old here. I actually remember demanding to get updates of the "vegetable caper" movie from my older brother in 2003. He was the only one that had internet access and this was pre social media so the response i always got was "theyre working on it"
I had no idea W&G had made it across the pond, nice. I remember reading that when Nick Park was making A Grand Day Out, Peter Sallis took the voice job for something like 20 quid. Now look at what it's become. Talk about humble beginnings.
The continuity entry might have been referring to how in the w+g shorts theres a small reference to the next short to be released. For example, the scene where gromit is reading the newspaper in the cafe in the wrong trousers, theres an article on the paper about a sheep rustler on the loose. And in a close shave when Gromit is flying around the town square looking for Preston, theres a billboard advertising Baker Bob's bread :) (Also a bit far fetched but the marrow in the living room in the wrong trousers and the fact that NASA invented the techno trousers could be references to a grand day out and curse of the were rabbit?) EDIT: Also just realised that the newspaper Gromit reads at the start of The Wrong Trousers has an article on moon cheese soaring in popularity
The Cutting Room Floor has a page documenting a kart racer that was originally going to be a Wallace and Gtomit game for the GBA, but was later redone to be a completely unrelated game when they presumabky couldn't get the license for the IP
Gromit actually had some voice lines in the swedish dubs of the shorts. However, those were just some scenes where he read text out lout to translate english text (He says out loud "room for rent" in wrong trousers, for example)
Thing you missed: Whilst the taxi incident was scary, a true tragedy was the 2005 Aardman warehouse fire. All W&G props that were not in museums or on tour to promote CotWR were destroyed, including most of the AGDO and ACS models. Nothing could be salvaged as the fire was so bad the fire brigade let it burn as it was too big to be stopped. It was a national tragedy and I was shocked that you didn't include it! I expect a correction immediately.

I distinctly remember some time between 2014-2016 that the page for Phillip on the wiki was vandalized. What really sticks out in my memory is "Location: in my ass." Has anyone else seen this?
As much as I love W&G it’s a shame that they live in Wigan, yet are not ever shown eating a pie. Wigan is well known for liking pies (the locals are even nicknamed pie eaters), even better it could be a butter pie (a Prestonian delicacy filled with sliced potates, onions and butter. It was invented for the Catholic mill workers so they could have something to eat on a Friday).
That adds further weight to Wallace being behind the Pie-making machine. Wallace driving the truck also carries more weight now that it's been confirmed that Chicken Run takes place in the same universe.
That show gave me so many PTSD attacks as a kid it's not even funny I have beef with Wallace an gromit but at the same time I love it so much for some reason
The continuity entry is probably referring to a couple of references to previous films, like how the rocket from the first film can be seen as a decoration on a wall in the Wrong Trousers, and how the jail cell in a Close Shave has "Feathers was 'ere" written on the wall, referencing Feathers McGraw. Also, in a close shave, there's a large zucchini mounted on the wall in Wallace's house, foreshadowing Gromit's prized zucchinis in Curse of the Were Rabbit.
Wallace & Gromit/Shaun the sheep needs more love. I heard their making a new movie and Aardman should be focusing on something they ACTUALLY MADE THEMSELVES instead of focusing on Chicken Run 2 (which the first Chicken Run is technically DreamWorks). Wallace & Gromit franchise is becoming underrated now and I'm sad. Also, Early Man needs more love too! That movie's ICONIC!
The microwavable shaun the sheep is for when you need heat applied say for like stomach aches, you microwave it then apply it to the area, kinda like how a hot water bottle works
