Fantastic! Really enjoy you documenting your journey. While it's really fun to learn all different rolls, IMHO, they are all just progression rolls from the standard roll so getting your standard roll on both sides absolutely SOLID will make it so much easier down the line.
Really nice. A great stretch is to twist around as far as you can while in the kayak and reach for and the hold on to the opposite edge of the deck behind you. Don't tip over though! Its great for balance, getting a look behind you, and a powerful stretch. Great video. Going to go try crook of elbow today and see how i do. Tarantella,Kalleq paddle, Reed tuiliq, and quajak rolls on phone, lol. In cold Maine water.
@@Fishaholicboy Hey! Crook of elbow on right side nicely, left, not a chance! I actually wasn't even getting the kayak to come around from 180 to 90 on my left for some reason. I will put some time into fully extending and hip snapping better, and relaxing my arm. I will be back out tomorrow.
Your progression is remarkable considering you have no one to coach you. As you have a good butterfly roll you can go for a norsaq roll after that and progress to hand roll. Storm roll is also a good one to have. Myself, I did my first crook of elbow the other day, but I need a lot of more yoga. I'm not as young as you are 😂
Thanks Jonas! I've been watching "This is the Roll" videos ALOT. I actually believe I'm developing bad habits as I am not doing them properly but then again, it's just fun rolling :) You should do more rolling videos! I love watching them.

Thanks for watching and supporting! Yes.. definitely need to learn both sides of the standard Greenland roll and get that perfect!
you really have been progressing, that's got me enthused for next weekend when I'm going to a full Greenland rolling event
Thanks! What rolling event is it??
Buddy I have never heard of either of them rolls. However, you did ok 👍just like everything else practise makes perfect.
I can’t even remember half the names of all the Greenland rolls.. 😅 I kept saying “crooked” instead of “crook of” for one of the rolls in this video.
@@Fishaholicboy Yes I spotted that But too polite to mention it lol
You’re too polite 😉

That twist was hard.. I need to do more flexibility exercises at home to get better. Please let me know how you do with the crook of elbow roll!

@@Fishaholicboy Lol
any tips on how to hold the paddle when doing armtips roll
It's quite hard to explain but here's a great video for you to look at: th-cam.com/video/IHkAuccUOUg/w-d-xo.htmlsi=_KfqTOKITrVTTfS9
Is the armpit roll the same as the shotgun roll?
Yes it is.. just different names for the same roll!
