Not the worst by far for Canada. Nice find and best of luck with her. I subbed so I can follow along. A base crate engine, like from Chevrolet Performance or Jeg's and others, don't come with any accessories or associated brackets. ( yes you can get them fully dressed, your budget is the only limitation. ) The general builder has to add the power steering pump, alternator, water pump and fuel pump, AC and any associated mounting brackets. I just did a complete frame off, ground up, inside and outside rebuild/repaint of a 1988 OBS Chevy Silverado Sportside. ( 1st year model ) I gave it a 5.7L HO ( 350 high performance ) from Chevrolet Performance mated to a TH400 with a Gearvendor's Overdrive unit and 373's in the rear. Untouched, they're 383 HP on an engine dyno from factory. You might have one under the hood yourself. Mine's been severely molested, bored, stroked, big cam, hi flow heads etc. etc. It does a lot more than that at the rear tires with no power adders... yet. 😆
Hey! Thanks for the comment, I realize it's probably not the worst in Canada but I also think it's pretty rough 🤣. I have found some more info on the small block, will be posting a video on the next day or so explaining Your 88 sounds like fun, I had a 94 Shortbed that was slammed down with a built small block about 12 years ago, was a hoot!
