Wow, Brenton, I'm happily watching your video and I'm shocked to see you flatter me with highlighting my videos! Thanks so much!!! A little more on topic, I am very much enjoying your series! You are giving those of us who dream of doing the loop, a feeling of being with you on the trip! Thanks! AllthebestRoy
@@roydesignedthat you should have 50k subs Roy! The least I can do ;)
A little help from friends helps huge! Thanks Brenton! @backwatersandbackroads
Brenton, long time subscriber, enjoy your videos and lifestyle. Do you have any experience with a “Yukon Delta” house boat? I think they are built in Indiana and not the, “Yukon!” Was curious if they are a legitimate boat, for the shanty type life?
@babygoat1963 I think they can be. I've seen some made up really nice.
Keep it up, Brenton and Gravy! We need a little sanity and reminder of God’s glory all around us!
You know it doesn't take money to make a person happy. Ask anyone who lives on a fixed income. Watching videos like yours and ones like yours brings me happiness. Your Your videos is the only way I would ever see the things that you do.
Wow, loving South Carolina. Thanks. Yeah you can eat squid. I was a small crocodile in a past life & I can vouch for us loving Little Beagles 😊 Oh, & I love the Beagle Shanty Boat over all those looper cruisers, & the lifestyle, much better.
love your videos, used to have a boot too a while ago - greetings from thailand
@@huga-t3j welcome! I'd love to visit Thailand;)
must say this is one of my favorite part on the loop so far, these old towns got so much history in there past and beautiful not one big shopping strip, thank Wavey and you for letting us tag along.
Hey Brenton
Again from our Mother…
We love watching you. We watch everyday and might be half way through your trip. We love that you are a Christian. We are as well. Our mother would love it if you would share a little more about yourself. We love the info about your trip and would like to know more about you as a person. Also Wavey is adorable. Our whole family has puppies and we love them dearly and know they would love to take the trip you are on. Thanks for sharing with us!
Can I send your mom a BWBRS sticker and post card? ;)
Hi 👋 Brenton and Wavey 😊 you got my dog hooked on those treats 😀 now to 😊😊
Hi Greg! Blahahahaha! We need a Cesar's sponsorship! ;)
@@backwatersandbackroadsWavey loves the Cesar foods, don't ever let her try beggin strips or you will be in trouble haha
Definitely a little hunting refuge
Squid!!!!!!! Good grief, Brenton! You could have cut that squid up and caught dinner for the next three nights! Octopus? Are you kidding me? Bless you, bud!
We don't eat squid
Yayaya! New episode 😊
Keep em coming! Waiting for thr nrxt chapter......
Very cool video, so much to explore in Georgetown, great price on the shrimp. Next week Julie and I will be hopping on a jet to a destination that has been on our bucket list for many years, The Faroe Islands and Iceland. We are planning on staying for 3 weeks...... The Faroe Islands has a land mass of 540 miles squared with a population of 53,000 and a sheep population of 190,000....
@scable-eq7bp I've been to Iceland...and do want to visit the Faroe Islands;)
I would love to see that lighthouse in person..lighthouse and it’s been left alone for so so long..not original condition but cool..still listening..ha a rehab center they need a lighthouse
You have encouraged us to look into completing the great loop with our kids in the next few years.
A darn good idea Matthew. I wanted to do that with my family but life seems to have won. YOU HAVE TO MAKE IT HAPPEN!. So thats my warning to you. Do it for the kids. The thing about doing things for kids is how can you regret that? Kids are the only thing in this world thats worth a damn
What a wonderful life you guys have..sweet
I'd bet that the place you were at in the beginning of the video was someone's private hunting reserve land. In the days I lived in the Low Country, many people I knew had places like that. They usually had ones on the coast and up in the Piedmont and the mountains so they could hunt various types of animals depending on the season. It's been years since I was last in Georgetown. Thankfully it still looks the same. It hasn't been ruined by overdevelopment thanks to a once special place being "loved to death " I'm glad to see that Georgetown didn't get developed to an inch of it's life. A lovely video. That old lighthouse is a cool place to check out. Enjoy the end of the season up north. The fall is the best time of the year as far as I'm concerned.
Those are live oaks Brenton they keep there green leaves all year long. The leaves don’t turn brown and fall off in the winter.
Beautiful and impressive trees ;)
Still loving the music. Keep it!
Thank you for that helpful feedback.
Another nice calm video. Thanks Brenton. SC looks beautiful. Stunning spring weather makes it look like a dream location.
It was a perfect time to be there ;) Thank you for Watching and continuing to show up.

Loved that old building. Them fresh shrimp made me drool. Appreciate you guys
Nice technique, Gravy! Getting it all out and at a distance! Yee haw!
loved this video too !! the nature is beautiful ! the adventures you share with us are a treasure ! hugs to Wavey n you @ God bless you both ! God owns the waters n we share the land with him *
Feel came through well in this vlog. Memories. Thanks for doing what you do.
Another good vid Brent pet the pup for me
Another great episode of your adventure. Thanks for the tour of Georgetown. Costal South Carolina is so beautiful!
Really liked the closing song. Can we expect a music release, a sort of album from your travels?
@ptb-texas6111 I'm a little embarrassed to say: it's AI music;) I have a tech savvy buddy who makes songs for us occasionally
The dolphins... "... playing, mating or fighting" lord isn't that the truth, that can be the way for a lot of us!
I lived in Georgetown back in early 1970's. So glad you visited there!
Legally speaking, there are roughly 5 ways to not be trespassing… Nearly no property is properly posted along with the other requirements. “No trespassing” is for wrongdoers, not a guy walking his dog. I’m aware many disagree, and that’s ok. 👍🏻
@@rackemwells I agree!! ;)
Please be careful when entering those out buildings around the light houses. Alex told me that when he did the rehab on the Saint Mark's light house thst he had never seen so many snakes thst said if you recall that light house is surrounded by salt marsh
Was at the St.Marks lighthouse last month. Appreciated the maintenance.
Noticed you anchored near the Kaminski house (I am a local lol) ,As to the Lighthouse, the last time I was out there, it was a center for juveniles with different issues, and there use to be a light house and shell tour until the island tour company started abusing the privilege, and people were no longer allowed out there , lots of plantations along your route in Georgetown County, get a chance check out Sandy Island great place to camp at, any way stay safe out there
Thanks to both of you for another video blessings from Southern Oregon
Nothing is trivial with your videos. It's all good.
Good job doing your doody Wavey ❤
What a nice town. Pretty cool seeing the different looper boats on the water also, thanks for another great video from rainy Louisiana 👍✌️
@GJCAMPING Hi Lil G! For y'all want a Shallow Drafters T-Shirt? Just got a box of them. ;)
Another great adventure you had there.
Epic lighthouse side trip. Glad you got to see that one my friend👍
I'm glad you liked it my friend;)
The picture of large shrimp has me drooling!!! But it is sort of ironic don’t you think…not my drooling lol
if i rightly recall the claim to fame of georgetown is that is was once the rice export capital of the us when we were still a major rice producer. and you need to watch the gators there, mate. and yes, somebody probably owns that. a dock that size probably cost 250k or more to build so somebody had to pay for that. it could be hunt club land.
Love it brother!! I’m finally up to date 😂. I will have one soon
Great job I can read your text! Thank you for leAving them up longer. Love your videos!
@@davidKatzenmaier yes sir. I added .05 to the text, hoping that helps.
Great episode Brenton!
I'm a little late but would never miss watching another video of yours. There's always a chuckle in them somewhere.., this time was the Wavy pee and poop alert...lol
@@karaDee2363 the news report no one asked for! Lol ;)
Another great video
Everything okay? Haven’t seen a new episode lately. Missing you guys!
Some parcels are purchased or leased by groups of people for hunting clubs. They look like that. 🧐😊
That land at the beginning of the video 💯 feels like it's owned. The deer stand, the mowed trails, the canoe by the pond. The only dilapidated looking thing was that first patch of land after the dock. But as you pointed out, there weren't any signs. That does suggest the property owner is relaxed about people passing through, as long as they're respectful. I'm of two minds about that, because 99/100 passers-through will be decent folks, but the 100th could potentially be more than bad enough to make up for it.
Nice job
Nice video. Hi Gravy 😂
Squid is considered fancy eating most places, those shrimp did look good. You're getting better catching the dolphins on film🤠🐬🐬
Squid are not my favorite for human consumption. Too chewy! Good for bait though.
That was a KILLER shot of the moon! Also I don't mind seeing what ppl cook for dinner. At least you don't show us you actually eating! A lot of hiking channels for some odd reason think folk are interested in WATCHING them eat their dinner and I, for one, am not interested. LOVE the dolphin stuff. Am commenting as I go. XO
@LisaHouserman Hi Lisa ;) you got me thinking...dolphin for dinner? That might be a good video;)
@@backwatersandbackroads or gator!
Finally geeeze! I pay good money for these! Oo wait they're free lol Jk thanks for posting! I'm having trouble adjusting now that I'm all caught up hahaha cheers!
@18:32 In the cold open I saw this clip and thought it said $5.99 each, and went "Day um! Those are some yuaghty prices!"
There's only one place better in the spring than Georgetown. That would be mccllellanville,
About 20 miles north.
McClellanville is south of G'town
@stevenisbet5647 ...not being mean but maybe look at a map.
@@stevenisbet5647 sorry was meant for original post
@glenngraham7295 I grew up close to there and even misspelled it! 70 years and my noggin ain't what it used to be. Thanx for the correction.
your welcome my friend
👍
To bad you couldn't find one of these old lighthouses and fix it up for a house to live in
Brotherman, That was a Baby squid not an octopuss. Used to be able to get Wallyworld to steam them for ya with Crab Boil seasoning. Most people thought they were just good fer fish bait. Not! p.s. "Grandfather Oaks" Rock!
$5.99lb for shrimp….Im envious 😂😂😂😂last I bought I’m Baton Rouge a few months back was $12 a pound. Have you figured on timeframe for your 2nd half of the loop yet?
@vernonbunch6662 That shrimp was right off the boat too. So good! We're leaving Superior early September 2025 headed east and south to finish the loop. Plenty of adventures in the meantime ;)
Bout that time. Looking forward to it!!!
I Miss Wavey.
OMG all those alligators. 😮
@AndreaLKL72 I know right?! Beagle for dinner!
YIKES!! You know I do worry about the gater "sitch" in your travels. They are interesting creatures for sure though. That boyfriend I had in Houston who was from Alabama originally and I were on a small pond type thing in Louisiana once and there was a small gator in there too. I was NOT happy about it but he took it in stride.
I did see an old power pedestal in the background.
5 star, ,,,
I live for tugboats and that one looked like a combo of a tug and a shanty!! I'm talking about the "Indigo" whatever it was called LOL. What a quaint, charming and welcoming town. Also am wondering if that movie at the theater in town was rated X ! The title was very funny. I wonder if there is any effort to restore or at least maintain that lighthouse. Thanks!
@@LisaHouserman that indidigo boat was very cool ;)
@@backwatersandbackroads I live for tugboats and I don't know that looked like I said it looked like a combination. I always say tugboats are the mules of the Waterway lol. And of course you might remember I do have a mule a living breathing mule not some sort of side-by-side four-wheeler thing LOL
In the FWIW department, at about the 5:00 mark, you and Wavy were on what's listed as agricultural land and no house is visible. From the water, the property just goes to Doar Rd but who knows what the history was. I figured out that you were at the following coordinates: 33 deg, 00 min, 12.77" N, 79 deg, 35 min, 59.30" W. Your video made me curious and I am just a touch nerdy - been following your videos for awhile - like 'em!
Thank you! I was wondering. ;)
@@backwatersandbackroads Just two piers north of where you docked was a red roofed boat house, and that pier goes back to a Mansion. No wonder, pretty area!
Indigo girl is a canal boat. That's why she's so narrow. I live in Georgetown if you had any questions. I can probably answer most of them for you
Seeing through your eyes, thankyou brother . hannibalmike
We are watching you Shanty boat adventure with our Mother. She asks ever episode where your sink is. Please show us how you wash your hands and dishes so she can stop worrying about you.
Hi Jennifer, that's funny. I just lean over the side and wash my hands, or a bucket of water. I tried to keep it as simple as possible.
squid not octopuss.
Squid!
Ok Brenten. Whats up with your song? Who is writing the lyrics? ....so cool..
Howdy ;) would you believe it's AI? Thank you for being a member
Another video of him trespassing on people's property 😅 😂
You're welcome! Though someone looked it up, not private property. Keep trying and watching...you'll "gotcha" eventually;)
AS A BROTHER...yes I encourage you to follow "no trespassing sign" - the Lord doesn't want anyone pointing the finger at you (him) for such violations
Even if it's harmless exploring of an already destroyed building?
Not an octopus, a squid. They are good to eat.
Leave no trace/ do no harm, you’re not trespassing.
Also it aint poaching if you’re eating it.
Just my opinion
Same! The "king" has enough deer and rabbits;)
Young gators are good to eat ...
Squidward!
Those looked like c
Crocodiles.
Looks like someone’s hunting property.
Squid!
Love your videos and your channel but I am really confused with the timeline. Where are you now
We've been home on Lake Superior for the summer. It just got too hot for us down there.
Its a squid
You were passed by boats costing about 10 times what your boat cost, and yet end up stopping at the same places, Hmm.
Have you changed your solar charge controller from MakeSkyBlue to Epever? I watched your build episode #11 when Mike set it up. Still have the two 345 watt panels, and the four 6v batteries? Asking because your setup works, and I'd like to duplicate it on my boat.
We did change the controller, the first one was a little small. This one is working a lot better and suited for the wattage
@@backwatersandbackroads Thanks, really enjoy your voyages!
Catch that gator. Taste like chicken.

Good day! Been watching your videos for awhile and had a question. I’m now the proud owner of a 30’ pontoon houseboat on a trailer. It’s currently being worked on and plan on slipping it in Kentucky lake . My question is there are quite a few a marinas . I’m looking at one close to the dam and another down by Johnson city. Any thoughts on where you would prefer ?
