A very interesting fusion of Italian and German loco types as a model (and I like your hint to the similar looking Soviet loco). The model was a at the time reasonable representation of the italian Ansaldo D342 locomotive which was produced by lima in the italian 2 tone brown livery. I suspect the different color of plastic used from the same mold and with db logo's applied it was just to have something on offer for the lucrative German market. The oldest versions of these loco's didnt have the ringfield motor rather some weird sort of verticallly mounted can motor. I still have in my display cabinet the exact same loco as you've shown here, that one was gifted to me when I was a kid back in the 70s so sentimental value. Its sitting there next to a red version of this loco, also with db logo's and an even more simplified (cheaper) power pickup arrangement and less weight. From what I've learned this loco also came in green. Also with db logo's.
Hi, I have seen the Italian D342 and the red DB version, I didn’t know about the green version. I also didn’t know about the can-motor. I know Mehano had such motors, mounted vertically on one bogie. Ringfield motors are usually stronger, I think. Thanks for watching and for the information 🙏👍

Piko is great at this. 😁 They have a new starter set SZD M62 freight train. Locomotive Mashka is in fact a repainted BR120 (with buffers) and the wagons are all repainted German models 😁 Thanks for watching 🙏👍

Hi Erik, your E10 matches the photo of the Italian D342, its a great looking Loco with its typical European styling. Your Lima E10 looks in good condition for its age and at a bargain price, the motor is very quiet for a Lima. It pulled your long passenger coaches very well despite the deep wheel flanges hitting the sleeper stays. I wonder if you can use the drill and file system to reduce the flange sizes?. Cheers, Paul.

Hi Erick, This looks like Lima up to thier old trick of slaping any railway companies logo on any bit of stock they have. I have severel bits of what should be BR but defenetly are not. But it all looks good, so keep it as is.
