The video explains why Steph should've won.
The reason he didn't, and Iggy did is all about the actual voters.
11 media people voted for that award. Half of them never played or even coached in the NBA, or any professional basketball.
There's something you can't learn by re-watching the games and that's the actual narratives the media was telling during that series.
The way I remember it, their favorite narrative was Kerr listening to a video assistant and changing the starting lineup in the middle of the series. The real story might have been more nuanced (changing the actual defensive strategy, as the video shows, and Iggy being better at calling for those double teams), but for the reporters telling those stories, that was just too complicated. Much easier to say an assistant said start Iggy and Kerr listened and look, they just keep winning.
7 of those 11 media people went with that narrative and voted for Andre, the other 4 voted for Lebron.
It's ridiculous the media that gets those votes wrong then spends the rest of time pretending it wasn't them that got it wrong.
If the Warriors win, they'll give Steph the FMVP and have new narratives for the next few months about how Steph was finally able to win it because he finally showed up to a finals series.
It's all dumb and NBA fans should realize who votes, how clueless they are about basketball, and why these awards shouldn't count towards anything.

He's catching shít from the very spörts mëdia tälking heäds that refused to vote him in as FMVP. That award is very subjective and it isn't something you can win. There’s no metrics or objectives to be achieved. They can simply group-txt each other and decide who they want to have the award. Then go on-air and beat him down for not winning a subjective award that they vote for, Smh… They were all protecting the narrative that Lëbrön is the face of the NBA and felt Steph was and is a threat to that face of the NBA narrative. Steph is a threät to the NBA Frönt Offíce desire to keep Lëbrön as the face of the NBA. Because Steph is widely accepted across all sports, especially golf, and is more articulate and endearing than Lëbrön. He’s also much more popular worldwide. His jersey outsells Lëbrön’s jersey 100-to-one in Chínä, Phílippinës and Thäiland alone. If Steph wins another Ring, it’ll be hard to argue against him becoming the face of the NBA. But I truly feel if Steph goes for 50pts in game 5, and 60pts to close out the series in 6, they’ll vote for Draymond as FMVP. They’ll argue that it was Draymond who changed the series in game two with antics.

I watched those finals and at the time I was fine with Iggy getting FMVP. Iggy had some big momentum building plays and was the primary defender on LeBron, who averaged under 40% FG shooting on over 33 shot attempts a game. I dont care that LeBron averaged 35 a game in the 2015 finals. If you're efficiency is that bad, and your taking close to half of all available shots for your team, the defence is winning big time.
With that being said, I retrospectively wish now that Steph won FMVP then, because of how much legacy nonsense people put into it.

Duncan was by far the best player on the team. He even had more assist and steals than Parker in that series. Durant played almost flawless in those finals. It isn’t hard to believe why he won. Iguodala got the award as a proxy for the people who wanted to vote for Lebron.
Curry having ONE bad game has costed him 2 FMVPs now - Game 2 of 2015 & Game 3 of 2018. It’s a shame that his legacy will be diminished because people didn’t want to give him the award.
He’s probably the greatest player under 6-6 & very few will look at him that way.

Steph is and had been the best player in the league for years. He's beaten both KD and Lebron head to head. He didn't hop teams to do it. Steph was a great defender on both Lebron and Kd.
Marcus smart is rated as the 4th best defensive guard. He's the defensive player of the year.
Steph well he was rated as the fifth best defender. He's casted as the worse defender of all time despite the fact that most elite players switch on him and struggle to actually score.
Just watch the footage of all the turnovers.
In fact the infamous 3-1 comeback was made possible because Draymond was suspended and curry was fouled out of the game. The fact no analyst ever mentions that shows you how rigged those games were.
Curry locked kyrie up and every time he got a steal they called a foul.
The nba tried the same thing this year with Boston.
Boston shot double the amount of FTs GS shot. Gs didn't get to the line until the 4th qtr in game 6 despite the celtics excessive reaching grabbing swiping charging and holding.
Steph didn't allow the league to rob him this time

Lebron generating even a below average with the teammates he did is a testament to how good he was in this series.
    Lebron's starting 5:
J.R Smith: 0.312% from the field and 0.294 from 2
    Matthew Dellavedova: 0.283 and 0.231
    Iman Shumpert: 0.256 and 0.320
    James Jones: 0.316 and 0.308
    Lebron's teammates when he wasn't on the floor went 6/35 for a 17,1 FG%.
If Lebron's teammates shoot even below average in this series the Cavs would've generated a good enough offense to win the series, but instead they shot historically bad and lost the series for Lebron.

Steph balled out in the last 3 games. He hit some clutch shots also so idk why he didn’t win it

In 2016 when the warriors had the cavs 3-1 down there was talk that Green should win the fmvp 🤯 now we know how that turned out. It’s just good old fashion hate your different so I don’t like you mentality. Steph is as great as Mj n LBJ they are in the same boat everyone else is in the water.

      FOR REAL!!
Draymond takes it for game 7 alone - according to many!!
If Ray Allen misses that Miami 3, FVMP might've been Boris Diaw or Danny Green!!!

@@skywalker2676 as great as Kobe was he was just MJ 2.0 a carbon copy. There is no other players that you can compare LBJ and Curry with they are one of a kind game changers. Enjoy the Curry show bro you ain’t never gonna see a player like that again at least not in our life time. Respect greatness.

I think he should've won it 2018. One game doesn't determine the series. Steph was the better player every other game and more impactful every other game in that series besides game 3

@@joesanthosh5315 Yeah, but the one game thing also lost it for him in 2015. As bs as it may be, it's a trend.

This was the only Dubs Championship that I watched every single game of because I wasn't a full time worker yet. I still remember being so delighted with winning the whole thing that I didn't pay too much mind to Iggy winning FMVP, other than a raised eyebrow. Curry was electric and will always be our MVP because even if he's not shooting great, his gravity, like you said, can still get us free points from the role players.

LOW is really a W analyst. Mans really keep it fair for all players in the league and stay unbiased....i been saying for years that Iggy (who i been a fan of since Philly) didnt really "shut lebron down"

Steph was robbed of Finals MVP in 2015. People always say that Steph is a Finals choker, but it's not true. I've watched every Warriors Finals in the Steph era, and 2016 is the only one where I felt he underperformed. And no, Durant did not carry Steph in 2017 and 2018.

Exactly, you could even argue that he should have won it in 2018. He wins wins this year his legacy should have lookd like; 4 chips 3 fmvps 2 mvps best 3 point and free throw shooter and he changed that game. Definitely would be top 10. However I think even his resume ran after this finals if he wins is good enough for top 10. Sorry for the bad grammar , I’m writing this on mobile

14:39 "It still resulted in a Cavaliers loss"
Well yeah when you don't have Kevin Love, Kyrie, and even your backup pointguard dellevadova is injured VS the Warriors who were a deep team down to their bench, obviously it's going to result in a loss. People think being one of the greatest means you can just go out there with anybody and win a game VS the best teams
