    Pro-tip: Download these videos and put them on your phone, tablet, laptop...anything that will fit in your work area. Then as you are working on your gun, you can easily follow along with the video, pausing and re-watching parts as needed. I use a tablet for this purpose and also keep a stylus nearby. That way I can use the stylus to pause the video and not have to touch the tablet screen with oily fingers.
    Good Luck!

    Okay...so far I have not seen a video that addresses the hammer plunger and hammer plunger spring. Why is that glossed over even on the Ruger video? I need to replace mine and not sure of the specifics. It has a flattened portion that is off centered. Does it go up or down, and how does it interact with the plunger pin. MY spring is mangled too.

    I think this is the best of the disassembly videos. It helped me R&R the hammer in my .45 New Vaquero. 20 minute job

    about how often would you need to do a complete dissembley and cleaning, not just snaking the barrel?

    Just break it down for cleaning don't go messing with the trigger assemble unless your a gunsmith.

      You aren't my supervisor!!
      But seriously, taking it down that far allows you to do action jobs, replace main springs and properly adjust the trigger pull.

    3:24 "And finally, your dog will jump on your lap causing you to mix the contents of your cleaning table like alphabet soup; You are Now, screwed."
    Thankfully, the close ups of the final disassembly were good enough for me to figure out how to connect the widgets in the right order again.
    Great video.

    I need help. Ruger Redhawk .41 cal. firing pin removal. All I see are pins held in place with nut and tool to remove. I don't see any nut around the pin to remove. Is some thing blocking my view and needs to be taken out. I have removed everything you would do to clean it up. Lost this in a fire. Help me save her.

    I was just wondering what goes in the other large hole in the hammer. Nothing, I guess. I wonder why it is there?

    I did not think of putting the cylinder pin back in and using a screwdriver to hold it .Good idea

    i was given one of these 357 Magnum Blackhawk with the 2 pin, i managed to clean it up just fine but im still confused why the cylinder spins free when the gate is open, closing the gate locks the latch lining up the barrel with the cylinder, and now i cant cock the hammer. every piece looks fine to me. Help!!

    • @MyS10Rocks
      @MyS10Rocks 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Turbocharge1000 its designed to spin free when the gate is open to facilitate unloading spent cartridges. if you close the gate and it locks up, that's what it's supposed to do, if you can't cock the hammer, check to see if the transfer bar is hitting the back of the firing pin and check to make sure the transfer bar isn't bent.

    One thing I wondered, if one could use extra cylinders as speedloaders since it looks very simple to remove it

    • @tank2449
      @tank2449 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      nope it would take way longer than just using a speed loaders and sometime they can be finky to get back in.

      Watch the video titled Ruger New Vaquero Transfer Bar Pinch , it might help. I've heard if you call Ruger they will replace it. If you install the new one, make sure the new is not pinching. If it is pinching, it will need a little filing.

    • @Kaydje
      @Kaydje 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Got some new bars. The first one I installed is a perfect fit with no pinch - lucky me!
