Great video. Good information. There is no other single piece of equipment that offers as many benefits as a standing wheelchair. 1) Numerous health benefits. Some of the many were mentioned in the video. 2) More independence 3)More job opportunities(which then brings up voc rehab as a possible way to fund a standing wheelchair) 4) Psychologically and Emotionally uplifting.
Full disclosure, I am an L-1 para from an SCI and I am the East Coast Rep for The Standing Wheelchair Co. This is more than a job to me, it's a passion. I prove that I'm not just trying to sell "our " chair by recommending to anyone interested in a standing wheelchair to try as many as they can, including ours. If you're more comfortable in another company's chair and know all the pros and cons of each chair and company then ....go for it. With my job I see soooo many health issues that could have been prevented or at least improved if a person was able to stand repeatedly throughout the day. That is something ONLY a standing wheelchair can offer.
I have some comments on the video.
    1) Bravo to you for showing the RESNA report. It's basically my bible as a rep for standing wheelchairs. I refer to it constantly when people doubt what I claim about standing wheelchairs.
2)I respectfully disagree with your claim that standing frames are only "slightly different" than standing wheelchairs. They are a big, cumbersome STATIONARY devise that is not functional at all. I think the ability to be able to stand ANYTIME, ANYWHERE, repeatedly throughout the day and do functional tasks while standing, something only a standing wheelchair can offer, is a HUGE difference to a standing frame. I stand in my standing chair a minimum of 20 and many times 60+ times a day, similar to what I did before I was injured. I ask anyone who is considering a standing frame, ask yourself this, would you have been happy being able to stand only once a day, in one spot for an average of an hour before you were injured? The answer is obviously no. That's what a frame offers. With the option of standing wheelchairs being available, standing frames should be obsolete like pay phones, typewriters, cassette tapes, etc. Between Ebay and FB marketplace there are many, barely used standing frames for sale cause the owners don't want to stand in just one spot once a day. They often make their way to the garage and end up being a junk collector like treadmills and stair-masters for able-bodied people.
3)You mentioned standing as a way to relieve pressure AFTER you get a pressure sore. I wish you had mentioned repeated standing in a standing wheelchair throughout the day will relieve pressure and most likely PREVENT a pressure sore. It's being pro-active instead of re-active.
4)You describe standing chairs that you were not going to discuss in the video as chairs that stand "automatically". A more accurate description is a chair with a powered standing feature operated with a joystick.
    5) I was surprised with your experience of "sliding forward" when you demo'd standing chairs and went into the partial standing position. If the things that hold your knees in place (we call them tibia supports) are working and adjusted properly, it seems like this simply can't happen. Your knees are up against the tibia supports. Your knees are connected to your femurs which are connected to your hips. So I don't understand how you could slide forward. Just curious that's all.
    6) The Wheelchair88 chair is called the "LEO". It's pretty much a copy of the LEVO chair. I'll bet Levo is not too happy about it either. Look at the name alone. They just took the "V" out of "LEVO". The reason it's so cheap is because it's cheaply made and I believe would not hold up under rugged everyday use and there is no service. You also can't get a demo of their chair before buying it. The way they sell their chairs is strictly on-line. You take your own measurements, send the measurements to them with your money and they send you a wheelchair and you have to hope it feels and fits good. Seems crazy to me. It's been proven to me time after time throughout my life, "you get what you pay for". Basically it's the same thing with Karman standing wheelchairs.
7)It's no big deal, but at one point (5:17) you called the Permobil chair the "Permobil LEVOUSA chair". I realize it was just a slip cause you got it straight later in the video. Basically the way I understand it is Permobil bought the French company "Lifestand" which designed and offered the Helium. I don't know exactly when, but Permobil sold or seperated from Lifestand. Since then the Helium, which absolutely is a nice, sleek looking chair, is no longer available here in the U.S.A. Levo is the only other legit company that offers a manual standing wheelchair other than The Standing Wheelchair Co. When I say legit, I refer to service and parts being offered.
8)In regards to the manual Superstand standing wheelchair made by the company I work for, The Standing Wheelchair Co. based in Saginaw, MI. The website link you offered has changed. The new link is: thestandingcompany.com/ I really wish we had a presence out on the west coast and that you could have tried our chair. I think you would have been impressed. Yes I agree it's not as sleek looking as the Helium, but we've been told been by taller than average and heavier than average people who have tried the Helium and the Levo that they felt more secure in the standing position in the Superstand. We offer more customized features than the others, it's more adjustable, it's able to accommodate heavier, taller, smaller and lighter individuals than the others and I believe our service is unmatched by any other company. Even though the Superstand is exceptionally durable, IF parts are needed, they are readily in-stock and available. No waiting for months for parts on back order. Lastly we are a certified Veteran Owned Small business. It would have been great if you showed the beginning part of this video that demonstrates the manual Superstand. Thanks so much for putting this video out and helping to spread the word about standing wheelchairs!!!

I have a standing chair. It is older, I bought off eBay. I love the thing. I use it around the house cooking, able to reach stuff in top shelves.
I really want a newer model cause the newer ones are a lot lighter. Mine is built like a steel tank, very heavy. Anyone that can not walk or stand, these are worth it.

Thank you for the reviews. The cost of the Levo manual stander is high....$10K+. The Standing Company starts at $14K. We also found out that the Permobil Helium is no longer made and the XO-55 (Manual) from Karman is no longer made either (not enough sales). Thanks again for the reviews.

I ended up not buying one. the Levo USA chair I tried was an old model and was pretty clunky. I also tried the permobil wheelchair, which was much nicer, but i felt not good enough to justify the price. it was neither a good wheelchair nor was it great for standing. I prefer to use a standing frame, which stands you up vertically..

Thanks for the reply. I was not able to decide between 'leo standing wheelchair' and the 'permobil's life stand helium'. Thanks for making this video.☺️
