    I like Wharton and I'd be giving him and Mainoo both opportunities but just think Mainoo has shown his ability to handle the highest levels of pressure a little more so far in his career. Less likely to get fazed by the occasion.

    Brilliant work Umir as always, love the way your analysis is so clear and simple, yet still detailed. Do you think this potential over reliance on the right side could see England struggle? Especially with no side presence on the left, with Jude, Foden, and Gomez all wanting to come central eventually.

      Thank you my friend. That’s always the aim. Accessible but in depth insight. I think there is an imbalance sure, but in my head, the situational rotations between Foden and Jude should be enough to occupy that left flank enough. An overload on the right with that quality, should get the better of most teams IMO.

    good vid Umir, im not english but think the biggest concern is having someone to hold width off the left profile wise. England are stacked tho everywhere else it will be interesting to see the team selections

      Rotationally, Foden doing so makes sense. Miss Shaw in that way too. I would’ve at least taken one of Rashford or Sterling too.

    Very insightful analysis.
    What are your thoughts on England out of possession? Are England capable of pressing the ball this high when Foden and Kane both aren’t great in the press or counter press? Also, will you be expecting Gomez to move up the pitch and support Foden/Bellingham, as otherwise there will be width issues on that side of the pitch?

      Thanks mate. I think Foden is great leading a press, has shown the ability to do so in a two up top for Man City next to Haaland. I’d expect Gomez to sit deep. Wharton would be the third man support for Jude and Foden. Foden would rotate to that left flank.

    I'd be worried about a lack of pace with your team, but otherwise it's decent

      Yeah, in transition it could be better but thank you either way.

    For this to work, would you stop kane from dropping deep due to lack of penalty box presence as rashford didn’t get called up

    • @umirf1
      @umirf1  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Kane can drop if Jude/Foden attack the box. But you need box presence.

    Thoughts on Palmer starting?

      Could go in for Saka in that same role but I just think Saka is the better player.
