- New reporting from the New York Times shows that Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito, in addition to flying an upside-down American flag over his house, few an "Appeal to Heaven" flag representing the Christian fundamentalist wing of Donald Trump's "Stop the Steal" election subversion scheme, over his beach house in New Jersey. The thing I most dislike about Alito is the sheer arrogance.
The thing I despise the most is his destroying the health and lives of American women. His direct actions have led to the death of countless women and girls in America. His is a legacy of death and the corruption of the Supreme Court. The capture of the Supreme Court by massively corrupt, lawless ideologues who pay zero heed to the precedents set in law by previous courts and whose radical right wing, extremist views and servicing their billionaire sugar daddies are their only guiding principle. To be confirmed four of the far right, extremist justices plainly and clearly perjured themselves on national tv and even when their personal billionaire benefactors had business in front of the court or their wives are directly involved in legal maters before them they have failed to recuse, destroying any credibility the court has. We now have mini tyrants, with no accountability and with zero recourse for the American people whose lives they’ve destroyed reshape America in their extremist theocratic image and to their paymasters benefit . They need to be removed immediately and the monumental harm they have done and will continue to do overturned. They are liars and utterly corrupt and disgusting!

This flag (The Pine Tree Flag) was flown by George Washington's Continental Army in 1775. It symbolized the right of revolution. This right is enshrined in the constitution. "...it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security."
A few people flew this flag during January 6th. Why does that suddenly make the flag a January 6th symbol? There were plenty of Gadsden flag was flown at January 6th, the american flag was flown on January 6th, does that make all these flags a symbol supporting January 6th? I would disagree. Either our beliefs or our passions guide our decisions. We should be guided by beliefs formed by reason. If belief in God forms our beliefs, then we should express those in the public square. I don't see MSNBC shying away from their beliefs, which take the place of religion. If we merely follow our passions ie feelings then our society will devolve into merely using one another to satisfy them. To see that in action, look to the Romans. SCOTUS judges are not banned from being human and they're not banned from flying flags, but if SCOTUS isn't bound by ethical standards then what court is? If no courts are ethical then justice isn't blind and if it isn't blind then it cannot be just. At that point, what's even the point of having a court system? Why not just have a royally appointed arbiter who makes a decision on the spot, possibly through coin toss or the rolling of dice?

There is an impeachment process. You can remove anyone.
If someone is beyond the law, they get a skewed opinion of what actions are or should be allowed by an individual. This makes them completely unable to perform their duties as Justices.

It reminds people of a big lie.
It is all about context. If you flew your flag upside down during/after the 2020 riots you were supporting them. If you flew your flag upside down during/after Jan6 riots you were supporting the rioters and supporting the violent overthrow of our government. Alito was sending a message that he supported an insurrection. He has never refuted that.

There were call outs at those events (2001, 2020, 2021) for the flags to flown upside in solidarity for those affected. For Jan6 there was no call out for other than to support Trump, the rioters, and the "stop the steal" disinformation campaign. Alito was supporting those people and supporting Trump.
Several people have been found guilty of seditious conspiracy to comment insurrection. Various courts have ruled that there was an insurrection. It is incredibly difficult to charge someone with the specific charge of insurrection which is why it is hasn't been done. From a legal definition point of view Jan6 was an insurrection. The two thousand or so rioters who stormed the Capitol building did so with the intent of stopping Pence from confirming the change of government. There were many serious injuries in the riot. Luckily guns were not permitted near the originating protest. The leaders of the riot were intent on causing harm to our representatives which has been proven in court.
