I want to coat big EPS letters and increase their strength and make them waterproof.
Can I only use waterproof PVA and not dry sand and use acrylic paint over waterproof PVA

hello please is your method fully weatherproof ? If not what would be required to make it so? Thanks

Do you have to use waterproof pva if you only want to use the polystyrene shape indoors? I'm looking for a hard shell where if the polystyrene is pressed or dropped it doesn't show any breakage and limited compression. Is that possible with your method?

Is this the only way to make foam suitable for outdoor use?

You can fibreglass polystyrene but you have to use epoxy resin. If you seal the polystyrene with enough layers you can use polyester resin. Polyester resin will melt the polystyrene if it comes into contact.

Okay so each layer needs a couple hours. Also you suggest one side at a time.

how long do you let it dry before adding the next layer?

A couple of hours in the shade should be enough, don't dry it out in the sun.

@@carvingfoam But you literally say at 2:36 to leave it in the sun to dry.

@@nashvillain171 never leave plastic things in the sun. The UV rays break up long molecules
