    Very nice to see a progression guide rather than just a how-to!
    People often forget to go the full way to a trick and simply try it till they get it somehow without really feeling what they do.
    Now I know what flips I gotta level more until I can try myself at a decend cork

    I like the video but I think the running gainer and standing backflip are kind unnecessary, I can do both but only on trampoline. Yes the cheat gainer can and most likely will help with building up for the cork. I’m naturally way more comfortable with back twisting like fulls and corks. I’m still trying to get corks more consistent and cleaner but I feel like all the pre requisite tricks you explain are in a way not necessary, but I do love the video and I think it can definitely help some people

    • @teamfarang
      @teamfarang  6 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      I think they are natural and useful prerequisites to learn clean j-step gainers :)
      Of course, you can do it without them, too.

    Sorry, but im really confused, whats the difference between cork, and backflip 360?

    • @ember_9
      @ember_9 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      David Ondrejek a cork is from one foot, like a cheat gainer, and you’re spinning off-axis. A back full is from two feet and you spin on-axis.

    • @davidondrejek8947
      @davidondrejek8947 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Okey, what about on trampoline? I saw Greg Roes video, on how to learn Cork on trampoline (btw one of the best trampolinist of all time) and he did it from 2 feet of axis

    • @teamfarang
      @teamfarang  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      In parkour when we say backflip 360 or back full we mean a backflip, jumping backwards or on the same spot, takeoff from two legs, with a 360 twist.
      When we say cork the main difference is that we take off from one leg. Some might also call it a Gainer fulltwist if you are running and traveling straight forwards. With a j-step runup(curved runup) is the common cork. It’s usually performed flipping off axis over your shoulder. An old school martial arts cork is performed without a flip and completely on the horizontal axis.

    • @noahkotzur3786
      @noahkotzur3786 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The jstep is 30% of a good gainer. It’s important you get a lot if power out of it so you can really launch your leg into the air. The rest is, once you get it, pretty easy: throw your arms up simultaneously with your leg, lean back and throw your head back to initiate the flip. Also keep your swinging leg straight. This is in my opinion the most important part of the gainer and I can’t possibly stress this enough: keeping your leg straight in combination with a good jstep will make gainer incredibly easy in comparison to a standing backflip in my opinion ( also compare jason‘s landing out of running gainer/backflip and jstep gainer: his landing out of jstep gainer is veeery smooth in comparison). Keeping that leg straight might be scary and it can take some time to build up the courage but once you do and you do it right I can guarantee you that you will notice the difference immediately. If it’s not working then film yourself doing a gainer so you can see what you’re doing wrong and if you don’t know what you’re doing wrong don’t be afraid to ask someone on the internet or a pro on instagram. Worst case scenario: they won’t answer and as long as you’re polite and don’t spam they won’t mind it.

    For those who want to learn corks but can't do most of the tricks Jason suggested to learn first , don't worry :-) I can do corks easily ( even swing throughs!) But I can't do a lot of tricks Jason suggested! I guess I can do it easily if I practiced ,but I don't really practice so.... lol
    Backflip: I can do ,
    one-step-gainer: can't do( if it's off height, I can do it but it'll be scary)
    Frontflip: can do
    Cheat gainer: hell nah (tho I can do kick-the-moon)
    Arabian: no
    Backfull : no ( I used to be able to do them but my form got fucked up somehow and it looks like shit and I can't even land them anymore)
    Frontflip halftwist: can do
    Butterfly kick: NOOO
    B-twist: hell nah ,I land on my ass
    So I'm sure learning these tricks will help but honestly you can get em even if you can't do em.
    And Jason said " by learning these tricks your technique and form will be good, I'm sure it will be , but if you can do the trick easily, even if your technique and form is bad , you can control you body and make your technique and form better!
    That's how I did it ( my form was shit at first when I landed my first cork but I corrected my form) .For me,I took about 6 months or more to get the cork ( I wasn't really training hard so I guess you can get it in about 4 months or less)
    Hope this helps y'all , good luck👍🏻
    Btw , Jason helped me get over my fear of backflips when I was in a slump cause I hit my head during a backflip. So Jason if you're read this , Massive THANK YOU, now I can do them on concrete and stuff .
    And I'm not trying to criticize Jason's opinion , it's just the way I learned it and I hope it helps , GOOD LUCK!!!!

    • @teamfarang
