    6:13 The dipping, throwing and looking tips really helped me learn the reverse vault on skates. Thank you!

      All movement is connected! I’m glad the lesson was applicable to skating. This is also how I learned sideflip on skates so I’d love to see your reverse vault on skates some day 👊🏼

      Yeah there are countless variations to the side flips. This is one of my favorite side flips to learn to consistently land on my feet to avoid getting hurt.

      There are many ways to improve your skills so maybe this was only one piece of the puzzle. What about these movements made it harder to learn? And what exactly were you trying to learn? The sideflip? The reverse vault? Let me know if you have more questions~

      @@Junawhat i know both the side flip and the reverse but as someone who also teaches parkour i dont really get how a reverse voult would help me sideflip. I dont really get it but everyone learns in diffrent ways and i would love to hear why you diceded to use the reverse vault to learn the side :)

      @@amo_parkour1 Aww man, I wish I talked to more people like you on a daily basis..
      The 1st reason that I believe the reverse vault is such a good progression is to prep a person to look over their shoulder. A lot of people don't really understand how important spotting the ground is and this was one major reason why side flips were hard for me in the past.
      The 2nd reason is practicing variations of shoulder rolls over an obstacle is a great way to progress to side flip. However , there is no "in-between" movement/progression. The reverse vault allows you to touch the obstacle twice making it a great safety vault/progression to get comfortable looking over the shoulder.
      The reverse vault is versatile and is how I learned to side flip over obstacles. Think about it. A side flip over an obstacle is just a reverse vault without the hand placement. Of course the side flip will change depending on the take off, body/head positioning, and speed/momentum.
      All I'm saying is the reverse vault looks suspiciously similar to the side flip from my point of view.. What are your thoughts?

    I can do standing backflips but I can't get the side flip, I guess I never seen someone brake it down like that so thank you, and if I get Fu(&Ed I'll send you the video lol

    • @Junawhat
      @Junawhat  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @dudesrocks
      Standing backflip is somewhat easier to learn because you get a lot of momentum from your arms and your chest can get really high if you block/set the height well.
      The sideflip is harder to do while standing because you have to understand how to lift your chest. The only way to get your chest up with a sideflip is to use your non-dominant arm to throw up. Throwing one arm down while throwing the other one up naturally rotates your body.. and with a jump it makes a sideflip. You got this!
      And please do sent me a video on IG of your attempts so I can see the problems that you mentioned 🙏🏼 IG: junawhat

    PLEASE CAN YOU DO A SIDE FLIP WITH THE THROW NEXT

    • @Junawhat
      @Junawhat  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The throw is all about timing. The most important part of the side flip is your shoulder/chest height. You just need to throw you back elbow up and practice the throw down timing. Eventually the flip will feel smoother because of the throw down vs just using the back arm and jumping. I'll make a video about this soon! I've been swamped with work and haven't been able to make videos so I'll grind more tutorials out asap. Thanks again for the support!
