I feel like most people who come in saying they want something “Jackie O” Have no idea what she actually wore. The dress Monty picked is spot on.
Exactly, particularly younger gals.
So much so that it came across as cosplaying Jackie O. My humble opinion.
Jackie was elegant but simple in her attire, but of course she could make a pair of sweats and a t-shirt good.

I agree. Something besides a pill box hat. A beautiful long cascading veil with embroidery on it. The pill box hat would look better with a short suit dress, not a long gown. Jackie Kennedy never wore a pillbox hat with an evening gown. so that was silly. I did love her gown she chose though. That little bit of lace on the bodice did set it off. Just a touch, not overdone.
Although lol! in Call the Midwife when Trixie got married she wore a pillbox hat but with a long veil, the storyline was 1968 so I guess some women did but with a long veil, not a short netting.

A simpler pillbox hat with veil would be in line with Montes' pick.

I don’t think the sister was jealous, she just had a different vision. But her pick made it clear that the bride suited the ballgown silhouette and she was completely supportive of her sister’s choice.

Monti's pick for a typical Jackie O' was spot on! I guess Hannah went in wanting something like that but realized that Monti's pick was so perfect that it almost looked like a costume. That's why in the end, Hanna went for dress that was pretty much Grace Kelly but without the sleeves...But kudos to Monti's pick!

OMG the first and last dress are so beautiful. I didn't think such dresses could exist, so beautiful!!! Simple and elegant, just the way I like them, but I've never seen a skirt like that before, the way it falls, so soft, gives it a touch of fantasy and looks so romantic 😭😭😭
wow, sister's pick made her look FLAT AS A BOARD WTF. probably not the first time a bride said she wanted "jackie o" but the actual jackie o look was just too dated and cosplay for her.

Jackie actually HATED hats. She wore them because she was made to wear them.
And she certainly didn't wear a pill box hat on her wedding day.
I graduated in June 1964 and I still had the Jackie Kennedy bouffant. They only thing that looked good on that and the French twist was a babushka while out in the wind!

What is it about this particular SYTTD team? Every one of their episodes carries with it a formula for negative drama - like they feed off that garbage. There's always one person in each of their episodes with narcissistic characteristics who thinks their opinion matters more than the bride's feeling about the dress she should wear in her own wedding. It's disturbing to the point of being sick. Even more so if the drama is deliberately scripted in.

Grace Kelly's gown was designed by Helen Rose of MGM. The studio offered to pay for the dress so she agreed. (A big disappointment for Grace's friend Edith Head of Paramount.) Jackie never liked her gown designed by African American designer Ann Lowe. Joe Kennedy, Sr. insisted on this dress. Jackie said she felt she was wearing a tea cosy. Notice that Grace's gown had long sleeves, while Jackie's dress was more like a prom dress with no sleeves. This style became the standard. Jackie's wedding dress to Aristotle Onassis was designed by Valentino. It was short, white, simple, and very feminine. The bustier and the lace on the gown the bride selected echoed Grace's dress minus the sleeves.
I am the eldest of 3 girls and went shopping for wedding dresses with my sisters. I would never force my opinions on my sisters. It is their day, not mine, how selfish and rude to do that to your sister. You are there to support her and encourage her. Do your dress on your day, not hers!! I will never understand behaviour like this!! Keep your rude opinions to yourself and just love your sister!
I know the drama is for the show, BUT look at what her friends and family are wearing. I wouldn’t trust their taste in clothes. Her sister’s opinion doesn’t matter. The first dress was AMAZING
My older sister was a lot like this, she has very different tastes from me and hers are a lot more mainstream so she acts like she has a better sense of style than me. I'm the 'weird' one and younger so she always acted like I just this dumb little kid playing around, when actually I know exactly what I like and don't like and have a very strong sense of my personal style and I get compliments on it all the time. I get negative feedback sometimes too but so what? She's just always been more concerned with other people's opinions and I'm not
