That was the trip about singers of that era; everyone had their unique 'vocal signature'. That's what made ensemble musicals like High Society such a treat. And when they had to duet or more - like Bing, Frank and Deano did with You've Either Got or You Haven't Got Style - you heard them each in their individual glory and then together in harmony. Imagine the plight of the music director who had the blessing/curse of superstars on every finger and then had to accomodate them to their agents' satisfaction! But they did it, I guess, and that's why we have such delicious material to enjoy and discuss.
I notice that this video is titled "*Bing* Sings 'The Merry-Go-Run-Around'--but since the first guy to sing in this number is actually Bob Hope, shouldn't the title be "*Bob* Sings 'The Merry-Go-Run-Around'"?
@@vhsdvdsupdateschannel3581 i hear that he was better technically, but he had none of the joie de vivre and lovability of Kelly. You wanted to stand by and admire FA but when GK you wanted to jump in, slap him on back and tap along with him.
I love this song and movie
I love how all three have unique vocal twists on the same lyrics and basic melody. It's amazing.

They broke the 4th wall in every film they were in. Lol
Laurel and Hardy Never do That. Breaking The 4th Wall.
I think that's a standard practice in most comedies. Maybe Singin in the Rain and Kelly tried to be classier.
Fred Astaire is Better Than Gene Kelly.
