Great teaching, I believe the beatitudes is talking about one type of person not right in a similar way to the fruit of the spirit. People often talk about fruits but it is one fruit with numerous segments you can’t be a believer and have love but not joy. The fruit is cultivated throughout our lives. The same with the beatitudes you cannot be pure in heart and not be a peacemaker

Maybe I ought to leave Japan and go to the USA and study under you (😇). I do thank the Holy Spirit for teaching me the things that I do know. And, I thank God for using you to teach us. Sometimes I look at the amount of work that I have to study. Guess what? I used to study chess for up to 16 hours - 23 hours per day. I wanted to become a CM, and I became a FIDE player. I recently deleted my chess account because it was taking up too much of my time. If I can study chess for 16 hours-23 hours per day then I ought to put that same amount of effort into reading and studying the Holy Words of God. God blessed me so that I do not have to work anymore. I stopped working at the age of 31 years old. I will turn 41 this year. I should be far advance in my Bible studies, but I'm not. And, I should have my Bible website done by now ( but it's nowhere near completion). However, I am back on track with my Bible studies.

Thabks for this Pastor Parr. The interesting thing about Matthew is how it appeals to a modern Jewish audience. I've been watching a lot of testimonies from Messianic Jews and many note how the geneology in Matthew struck them. Before reading scripture they didn't even know Jesus was Jewish or that the NT was mostly written by Jewish believers. The practice of sharing a geneology is such a Jewish thing. Matthew 1 speaks so much to new Jewish believers. Matthew was writing for the Jews of the first century. So Its definitely the work of the Holy Spirit when something can cut into people's hearts just the same 2000 years later.
Love this series, you show info I like to know, like the different sources and the authors adding stories they remember/want to include in their gospel accounts!
Thanks for slowing down. Your preparation and presentation is awesome. I used to find the presentation 's too fast. I believe God wants his word put and his people will take the time to listen to long teachings because they are worth the time. Others spend hours on movies.....we spend hours listening to the Word. Keep it up.
