Dude this is amazing, I plan to get into film photography in sometime and I was just randomly watching darkroom videos to get an idea of what goes on inside, and your videos have sparked a huge amount of interest in me. There is such a romance in all the chemistry and hands on approach to this kind of photography. Thanks a lot, and keep posting more! Love from India!
Thanks for posting this video. I've been looking for sepia toning videos as I've only ever done Selenium toning which is not nearly as interesting of a process.
+MrDerrickChan I'm not sure if I understand exactly, but sulphide toner has two components, bleacher and toner. Selenium toner has only one component, that's toner.
Haha, bravo. Me zanima "split toning in darkroom", prvo mi ven vrže tale video. Tip z "bad ass enlargerjem" začne govorit. No šit, kera angleščina. Tole bo pa Slovenc. Od-zumam s fullskrina in vidim Dolenca: Borut Peterlin :) Nazadnje videla se na SŠTZU... legenda!
for high gloss, I ferrotype it (FB paper), or I put it on glass and then I tape it with a tape that is used in carpentry or by framing. you know, the principle of a stamp. you need to make the tape wet so it starts to glue.
read the fucking manual haha :D good video by the way! glad to see the whole process clearly. thanks for putting it up and keeping these old processes alive :)
Woah dude!! Don't pour the bleach onto a single spot on the print like that. You will get extra bleaching there, and a "hot spot". Pour bleach into tray, then place print in to bleach evenly.
Yes, I was concerned about that joke, but I asked my gay friends and they said it was funny, so I left it in :-) My jokes sometimes are so gay, I know...

Toning (when done properly) is also an archival process. It will prevent prints from tarnishing over the years.

I love this guy... I'll never use Gay Oderless toning chems again...
Enjoyed this . Thank you !
Holy shit, it's been almost 7 years since this video was posted. I remember when it was new lol. Returning here to learn about split toning
I look the same, everybody else got older! It must be the chemistry...
BTW: Pot-ferri bleach solution (mixed cheaply from powder) will clean that sink.
what was the second chemical you poured into the tray after the Sulphide?

Thank you, but why would I want to have clean sink? It reflects my poor soul :-)

Joj, to pa bo res veliko let. No, me veseli, da si našel ta video. Dober glas seže v deveto vas :-)
Zdaj spremljam :)
Učenje se nikoli ne neha. Že sedaj sem se nekaj naučil posredno: Ljudem dati ekskluzivnost, posebnost... povprečja je čisto preveč.
Borut. thanks for sharing. can you please tell us how you flatten FB prints?

Theoretically I would agree, but practically I can't find those extra hot spots on my prints :-)
The goat
Haha you are great! :D
Borut is the shit! Brilliant photographer and darkroom tech....but most of all not afraid to say certain things are gay!!! Which is super not gay!
Odorless toner is gay! OMG! That's hilarious! Great vid. thx!!

So who gets to keep the darkroom when you get divorced?......blame it on her cooking indeed! :-)
