SwapnilRB Telugu, Kannada , Marathi are from Prakrit which is derived out of Sanskrit. All three languages are mostly Sanskrit. Telugu and Kannada has similar script where Marathi has kept the Devanagari script !! All three are beautiful languages!!

A humble observation ( I may have some limited perception) -Kannadigas learn about Maharashtra faster than Maharashtrians about Karnataka. Maharashtrians land up reverse plagiarizing about Maharashtra as though it existed from eons. Given this background, your interest in Purandara Dasa and the endeavour to learn the nuances of kannada pronunciation to do full justice obviously is through the blessings of Saint Purandara Dasa. We belong to a lineage of kannada speaking Madhvas . We settled in Mumbai around eight decades ago.Fortunately , with Hari Iccha, we have preserved whatever we could claim as heritage. I heard about the legends of Purandara Dasa from my esteemed mother when I was a small kid. A humble observation ( I may have some limited perception) -Kannadigas learn about Maharashtra faster than Maharashtrians about Karnataka. Maharashtrians land up reverse plagiarizing about Maharashtra as though it existed from eons. Given this background, your interest in Purandara Dasa and the endeavour to learn the nuances of kannada pronunciation to do full justice obviously is through the blessings of Saint Purandara Dasa.
