  • Drawing on his own experiences, Fr. Thomas Keating gives an intimate view into the false self in action. The stories of confronting his false self are offered to encourage others as they too are invited to relate to Divine Love in new ways.
This is one video in a series of 31 hour-long talks by Thomas Keating that make up his foundational video teachings, “The Spiritual Journey with Fr. Thomas Keating.” All of these talks are now available on TH-cam, and are listed below with links. Fr. Thomas was an internationally renowned theologian, speaker and author of dozens of books including “Open Mind, Open Heart.”
To access condensed highlights of this video series plus more recent series by Fr. Thomas as part of a free online course, go to www.contemplativeoutreach.org... for the complete course, or to • The Spiritual Journey ... for just the videos.
Fr. Thomas co-founded Contemplative Outreach, which offers this series and supports Centering Prayer. Along with Fr. William Meninger and Fr. Basil Pennington, Fr. Thomas began the Centering Prayer movement in the 1970’s to renew the Christian tradition of contemplation. An overview of Contemplative Outreach is at • Contemplative Outreach... .
Go to www.contemplativeoutreach.org for more information on Centering Prayer, including retreats and local chapters that offer support to practitioners at all levels in the U.S. and around the world. An online store offers books, streaming and downloadable videos and mp3 audios, DVDs, and CDs. An online course, “The Spiritual Journey - Formation in the Christian Contemplative Life,” draws upon the series of talks offered here and also includes newer teachings of Fr. Thomas, within a year-long curriculum.

Iam sending you this link because it is thebeginning of the series of talks with FrKeating which go into more detail of Contemplative Prayer. I don't know how long these will be offered as the first season is over. These go into more detail. I have started this series again as I was exposed to them years ago. I am trying to begin this practice again.

He mentioned in the 43rd minute discussing the ways that we react when angry according to temperament.
Could anyone put up a link to him speaking on that topic or a book in which he wrote about it.

Does Fr Keating have or teach these topics in any of his books? Can you recommend where I can find his teachings? Thank you. 🙏🏻

For me, the book 'Intimacy with God' by Thomas Keating continually gives me courage to face what arise from deep within, and trust, in spite of myself, in God when my programs for happiness are running the show.
In particular, some lines that have found their way into my heart, from p 34 (i think).
"This violence has to be repaired. It is an imbalance that needs the kind of love that is born in interior silence as we let go of ourselves and allow God to be God in us. '

There is no true spiritual unity except in the sanctifying grace of Jesus Christ. And no one goes to the Father but through Him in the Holy Spirit. You keep saying consciousness. It’s not unity by consciousness. It is union by grace, grace lost during the Fall, that only comes into the soul through Jesus Christ by the ordinary means of Baptism, please God into the Catholic Church, established by Jesus Christ.

I like what Father Keating had to say at about 39 minutes to around 41 minutes.

Yes, that's conventional Catholicism. But let's face it, just getting baptized doesn't make one happy. Father Keating's spirituality recognizes this obvious fact. His spirituality is not idealistic or theoretical, it's practical--which is why it's a rare treasure.

You’re obviously consumed by ideas, concepts, and words. The Unity is an ongoing reality behind the facad of the egoic grasping mind.
Let go of your words and ideas and enjoy the Presence.

Thanks, Pablo, for a recitation of the Catholic party line, but Christ is way beyond the dogma of an Italian bureaucracy.
