    We are a local lawn and landscaping company based out of Freeburg IL. Family owned/operated and started from the ground up. My brother (Nic) and I (Alex) are doing our best to build a company we will be happy to work in. It has been an adventure and a struggle at times but I wouldn’t trade it for the world! We began our journey on youtube to document our company history and we would be happy to have you along for the ride! We have big dreams and have hardly scratched the surface of where we want to be.

However, i wll be on here a lot watching until I get one. Then when I get one.. i will be back watching. I need to learn the turns. Thanks for the up load.

    Just wanna say big up to all the walk behind operators... I've been with a landscaping crew for 5 seasons now my boss has 2 FW35s in pristine condition... Ive gave it a go twice.... That mower is NO JOKE... I don't know how he does it... We cut 19 yards today.... And 26 the day before with just 3.... I'm from Charleston WV so you can only imagine what the terrain is like... But watching this video it all sarts to make sense and third time's a charm

      Walk behind operators are a different breed 😂. Seriously though it just takes time like anything else but a walk behind will float over area a zero turn or stander never could. When mowing full time mowing when it’s wet it a must sometimes. We always kept standers around for versatility. They can do anything!
      We are no longer in the mowing field but I will always cherish my days on the walk behind!

    My first lawn care job was with a-z out of new athens i never used a walkbehind before the owner took me to a overgrown field by toms market and told me to figure it out i spun out like ten times felt like a fool

    Thanks for the video! I picked up a new 36" Gravely Pro Walk gear drive last week, and am glad to see I'm not the only one who faces a learning curve.

    I’m old school and prefer walk behinds over standers and ZTRs for small to medium yards. By far the most universal mower on the planet for just about any terrain. Using a sulky is a must for top efficiency.

      Billy Goat amen to that! Nothing more universal than a walk behind 👍🏼

      What kind of life span do WB mowers have? Better than zero turns I'd think. They are so close in price these days....

    Awesome video brother I've been in the industry for 17 years only hardscaping, plantings, and construction. Got my first say of mowing in on walk behind an I'm hooked. Great details and info/tips/tricks.

    Excellent video, I just purchased the Ferris brother a snapper pro. I pick it up this week. I'm so glad I came across this video. It cleared everything up.

    Great video very informative! You can’t beat those walk behinds, they have probably the best cut in my opinion. The old pistol grip too! I have a 48” snapper walk behind I mow my lawn with, to me it gives it that professional look and cut. Thanks for sharing

    Hell yea. I have gear driven belt drive. Lot different but same thing. Practice makes perfect. I could see myself being jumpy going to a HYDRO walk behind. Stuck with old snappers

    Haha wow.... and Ferris is a very complicated mower for beginners. It is the closest control mechanism to a Walker mower where the right Speed control handle is the same as the Bar in the middle, and you use the left and right drives with one hand on the walker as opposed to 2.

    • @KenMrKLC
      @KenMrKLC 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      And then the Sulky is a whole new experience, You could have at least pulled that off... Curious what the plan is on the gate scroll work now that Kevin owns the Box truck

    • @nickenslandscapingexcavating
      @nickenslandscapingexcavating  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ken MrKLC yeah not the easiest thing to learn but similar to most Walk behinds. They definitely take a better operator than a stander or zero turn. 👍🏼 he put a power lift in the gate 🙂

    Do certain mowers stripe and others don't? Or do i have to make some sort of attachment to make the mower stripe?

    • @nickenslandscapingexcavating
      @nickenslandscapingexcavating  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Jose Jasso Most commercial mowers stripe. If it doesn’t all you have to do is put a rubber piece on the outside of the back of the deck and hang it down about 1.5 inches. An old mudflap works great 👍🏼

    Nice video! Can a walk behind mower be used for ditches?

  • @GG-ub4ej
    @GG-ub4ej 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    I am seriously considering getting a fw35. What speed do you typically mow? A well kept weekly lawn not overgrown.

    • @workingcountry1776
      @workingcountry1776 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Guys here in NY with EFI Vanguard engines are cutting at top speed in the open. Even older 15hp single cylinder units can haul but on good grass.

    • @GG-ub4ej
      @GG-ub4ej 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@workingcountry1776 I appreciate it. Currently running a 15hp exmark metro with the older trivantage deck and am not happy with my mowing speed to leave the cut I'm expecting. It may just be deck design but overgrown or not perfectly dry means a big slow down and double cutting way to often.

    • @workingcountry1776
      @workingcountry1776 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@GG-ub4ej It seems like a 15 hp gear drive should be fine on typical turf though. I had to try a few blades before i found winner. Now I mow in high gear when I can and it doesn't clump. My mower has a 15hp koehler and I only double big messes.
      Good luck.

    • @GG-ub4ej
      @GG-ub4ej 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@workingcountry1776 Maybe I just need to try different blades. Appreciate the input.
