    As you stated, the 2nd gen S&B particle separators have a sensor that attaches around a coil pack wire that speeds up or slows down the scavenge fans according to engine RPM 's. Mine seems to work well, was relatively easy to install & it looks good on my 21 Can Am X3 XRC turbo RR.

      @@orion000 It was last time I used my Can Am maverick X3 but I've since sold that & gone over to a Can Am Outlander 650 Max 6x6. It did seperate out alot of dust & particles that used to make their way onto the airfilter element. They do work.

    Does it make a huge difference if it's mounted high or low. I've seen people mount it on the roof and behind the cross bar in the back? Just curious. I've had people tell me it doesn't make a big difference. I find that hard to believe. Thoughts?

      I just installed mine. Its about as loud as your air conditioner in your car/truck is when its on full blast. You can remedy this by putting it on a switch so you can turrn it off if you want. Mine is installed in a 4 seater so not sure I can hear it at idle. Maybe the occupants in the back can. I cant hear mine pick up when I rev the gas either. One thing I noticed when I was installing it, is it looks like there us only exhaust on the center fans. It looks as if the fans to the left and right might be dummy fans? I didnt see anything stopping dust coming through those fans that would prevent it from going right to your air filter. Maybe theres some black magic. Im going to put a prefilter between the filter and the tube to see if anything gets picked up there.

    Will the new version fit on the same brackets the old one attached to?...being able to just replace the unit without replacing the mounting clamps would be a huge advantage..

    Does this prevent any accessories from being attached?

    • @rmatvmc
      @rmatvmc  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It could if you have other accessories that attach to the same bar you're using for the particle separator. But you can mount this in a couple different positions on most machines to work with other accessories.

    Does adding this give your machine any extra horsepower or does it affect with the fuel and air ratio of the engine ?

    • @rmatvmc
      @rmatvmc  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It just helps keep your air filter clean and nothing more. A clean air filter will prevent power loss, especially on turbo machines. That's it as far as performance, no other modifications needed. These work really well, but you should still check your air filter periodically and change when needed. -Charles

    We just installed on a 2021 razor Xp 1000. We mounted at about the roof line however it has a high pitched whining which is making me crazy. We have a front and back windshield. It seems to be most noisy when running at 5 to 20 mph. Any ideas on getting rid of that high pitched whine?

    Does this need to be covered when cleaning/powerwashing my machine ? How waterproof/resistant are they ?

    • @rmatvmc
      @rmatvmc  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You don't need to worry about covering the particle separator when washing your machine or driving in rain. With rain being heavier than air, these filters will separate water particles like it does with dust. There is also a drain before the stock intake that allows water to exit before hitting your stock airbox.

      Yes, these particle separators come with mounting that can be used on the upper or lower roll bars so they can work with windshields, rear windows, spare tire racks, etc. It can be mounted slightly above the roofline if there is a front or rear windshield.

    Can you have a can am rear windscreen with this?

    • @rmatvmc
      @rmatvmc  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, you just may have to mount it in a different location. This kit comes with 2 different sized clamps for the X3 so this can be mounted on the larger bar behind the seats or on the cage. S&B has a good video showing this mounted in the lower location to give you a better idea. You can check out that video here: th-cam.com/video/w8kVKtqle58/w-d-xo.html

    I have a 2023 KRX 1000 with a rear window, Where do I mount it?

    • @rmatvmc
      @rmatvmc  ปีที่แล้ว

      Depending on which rear window you have, you could mount the particle separator to the top roll cage bar and have it sit above the roof line. The clamps are pretty low profile so not much room is needed.

      This is designed to separate dust and dirt particles. They don't say anything about water. This is something you would need to reach out to S&B about.
