no, it was where you spent your money that changed. No winter vacation. No summer vacation. Less eating out. WE spent that money on houses, Amazon, cars and toys
I believe a little bit of both of these comments are correct. Either way we can all agree that we come to the same conclusion, Prices of stuff right now is just too high. Hopefully it will get better before a complete market crash.
Finally someone giving good advice. So sick of people thinking the endless buying spree, at any price, is going to go on forever. Remember when everyone bought a custom Harley and two houses back in the 2000s? Remember what happened next? Those that forget the past are condemned to relive it.
No question the market is changing - higher prices, higher interest rates makes it less affordable to more folks. The used market is in for a major correction - as people are forced to sell or simply give back to the dealer and the dealers start discounting to simply move units off the floor - it will be a lot easier to buy from a dealer than a third party. Most UTV's are financed - so if you have a nice machine with lots of mods, you are not going to get you money out of it - so if you want to sell or more important if you "need" to sell - do it ASAP - as the market is going to continue to move away from the sellers market of the past few years to a buyers market. Cash will be king - and if you have it you will be able to buy super nice, upgraded, lightly used units in the coming months for a bargain.
I was at our localKawasaki dealer the other day. They had 8 KRX two seaters sitting on the floor. They definitely aren’t moving like they used to. They also had dozens of high dollar KTM, GAS GAS and Husky dirt bikes sitting there unsold. Six months ago if they had bikes in that shop they all had sold tags on them. Two of those were sold.
Yupp I work at a used car dealer up here in northern Canada I’ve noticed it bigggg time the slow down is here 2023 will be a buyers market. We had a hellcat that we had to mark down 40k and it’s still sitting mine you they had 30k mark up on it. That’s the name of the game 🤷🏼♂️
@@magana7miguel7 I don't have an issue with financing short term, the problem is compounding all that interest over "seven" years is financially irresponsible unless the interest rare is near 0%.

Never take a loan out on a toy!! Unless you know damn well you can turn it for profit 😉 Buying new is the worst investment!! Minute you drive off the lot you lost money 💰💸 When you save and pay cash $$ you will enjoy that toy way more than your neighbors driving on debt. Believe me I love toys! And I have a bunch. But I paid my house off first and then got into toys. That way if I get hurt 🤕 playing I don't have to worry about my family being left with debt!!
Thanks man. Getting ready to buy a sxs and can wait. Still seems like used prices are nuts right now so I think I'll wait it out and hope things settle out. Lots of good points in your video, makes sense.
The market is reasonable at the moment. I bought mine with 3k miles for 12k, put like 1.5k into it. Bought an enclosed trailer for 7 and did a toy hauler conversion. I got a machine and trailer for less than my fathers machine alone, he got his machine in 2021 for 23k + about 4k into it.
Sales dropped because there is no reason for a SXS to cost as much as a vehicle that has power windows, locks, windows all around the vehicle, heat, A/C airbags, radio, defrost, air bags, windshield wipers, Cruze control , GPS, anti lock breaks, emergency break. A SxS dealer will tell you they cost so much because all the technology that is put into them. The truth is there is less technology, I mean a lot less technology put into a SxS than a everyday vehicle.
The problem is these dealers trying to pad their pockets. $1,900 freight fee $500 doc fee plus other fees and over pay for a warranty. Luckily I found a honest dealer and walked out with a Krx 4 under msrp. Got a 5% interest rate
Ya this bullshit high frieght/pdi, commodity fee(what the hell is that) and admin fees, all just padding dealers pockets. Can’t wait for market to crash. Remember the dealers that tried to charge the most fees and stay away from them and tell all your friends to do the same
Bought a new 23 Yamaha Wolverine X4 850 XT-R, partially financed at a Credit Union. Pushing 70. we traded in our 2-up atv rather than quit. Happy trails and no regrets.
Cost to keep up on the hobby is quickly becoming a strain as well. I think some have taken into consideration that after the investment of 25k into a machine, 50k in a toy hauler, 75k in a 1 ton to tow it... Adds up quick.. Now factor in the 1k min. you'll spend in fuel/food/camping spot etc... You quickly come to realize that time and money might be better spent elsewhere...
@@Built05STI I was lucky, I sold DURING Covid and made out like a bandit. I've always had multiple interests so for me it wasn't too hard to sell and make a ton of cash knowing damn well I'd end up completing the circle and going right back to it with a new machine, new build, etc etc... Now the key for me and what my old man always taught me was "Always own your toys outright, their is nothing worse than having a payment sit in your garage broken". The way we play so hard it really does make sense and although it took me 3+ years to buy/sell/trade/flip my way up to what I wanted it was even that much more gratifying when I got those stacks in 2021. :)
@@DerangedOffRoad Upkeep...spent 3 days last week replacing steering rack, rebuilding front diff, bearings, ball joints. It's getting old, but still love it. We recently bought property in WV and leave our RZR's there. You can buy really cheap there (our 3br, 2ba house is less than a toy hauler). I'll be in the market for a 4 seater in the spring...hoping for a market "correction"
I don't understand why so many people think they have to have new machines with a new toy hauler and truck just to go riding. Either credit was extremely cheap for them or they just didn't really calculate and understand how much money they are/were committing
I’m in the market for a new sxs, I noticed that my local dealers are starting to pile up on machines where as they had few to none last year. Stopped in and the dealers are still playing games on pricing I’ll wait till the manufacturers start discounting them, not paying crazy prices.
Shit went wild because of stimmys and huge un-employment pay outs. That boat has sailed and the poors will have to sell or give back the stuff they should’ve never bought.
I think you are correct. My wife and I just bought another Cfmoto with less then 150 and 6 months old. 950 zforce for $9k cash. Cash is king!! There are many people looking to dump them because of the higher interest rate/ never riding them
I bought my 2018 polaris Turbo xp 2 months ago.. I paid 20 G's for it. I did finance it. I got mine at 4.2 interest rate. I love my RZR. Excited to start upgrading.
I'm hoping for a correction down because prices inflated massively, it's just stupid expensive now and pricing people out of the SxS and some of the ATV markets. $40K USD for a side by side is just asinine.
The biggest original reason for a utv purchase was the affordability compared to a jeep. That is not the way it is anymore. The options available have shifted the market especially in the high performance machines. The high performance prices will stay high but the price of the utility machines have to come down or the manufacturers have to figure out how to survive with a smaller customer base.
A Jeep is still more than double a Honda Pioneer 1000. I just sold my 08 Wrangler for more than half what I paid to buy a 22 Pioneer. Both are Awesome machines
I timed my 2020 KRX purchase perfectly, I bought it right at the first of covid when no one knew what was going to happen. For one month Kawi did huge rebates, I paid 16,300 before tax and license. I got about $1500 worth of accessories and was right at 19k out the door after tax and license. just waiting for my Krx 4 to show up my 2 seater will be listed for sale this week
@@DerangedOffRoad next time we are down in sand hollow we’ll look for you guys. My in laws live in Dixie Springs so we are right there close. If I could afford to keep the 2 and 4 seater I’d just leave a KRX down there
I’m loving y’all’s wisdom on your channel, it’s super helpful especially since we’re selling our gently barely used 2021 Kawasaki KRX 1,000. We’ve got this thing pretty soup’s up, but railroad is taking us places we can’t take it and use it traveling in a 5th wheel. My question to you is what’s the market look like now in UTV world since I’m finding this a year after you posted. (July/2024) thank you for this and in advance for your answer and working the healthcare industry caring for people.
I totally agree with you on a lot of what you said and I can tell you based on my job and what I'm seeing is the used market is coming down some and I expect it to come down a lot more over the next 6 months or so. Dealerships now with a sudden influx of Polaris RZRs that they're selling at discounts thousands of dollars off because they have so much inventory whereas 6 months ago they were selling them for over MSRP. All the people who bought used or new and paid markups are going to be losing their shirt in the next 6 months to year if they're looking to sell or upgrade or they total their machine!
RMATVMC has 32 KRX 1000 4 seat on order. I put money down on one. 6 months 0%, then I’m paying it off. If it ever comes in. I don’t want to ride it out as you say.
When credit is easy to get, those who are not disciplined will find themselves in financial debt. The thing I see here in Canada is people want to keep up with the Joneses. What I see happen in the States is basically the same, but they like to buy the most expensive, biggest, top-of-the-line toy that's available and make minimum payments for the longest amortized period.
Aussie here. I would love a sxs but problem is that there is NOWHERE to us them. Got like 6 parks in the entire state of nsw and property is out of reach for a lot of people.
2008 was the housing crisis. 2023 is going to be the credit crisis. Was personally saying this back in summer 2020. I think ALOT of people are going to be looking at the payments they have on stuff and be dumping them. I cannot believe that people take out 7+ year loans on toys such as UTVs, boats, campers, etc. It's completely insane that people are doing this, even crazier that banks are able to actually let loans go that long on these assets. Not to mention the income verification at dealers is almost nonexistent.
Wait till early to late spring 2023. I feel like there will be incentives and prices will be down. Interest will be up but as long as you don’t have any stipulations on early payoff then you can do good imo. Bought my krx new in 2020 for 15700otd
I wonder how many people bought utvs just because they wanted to buy something? Situations such as a pandemic are very depressing and I believe a lot of people were looking for anything to make them feel better. A new "toy" is a way to do that. But the novelty of those situations fades. There are buyers such as me and thousands of others who genuinely love trail riding. I know a guy who bought a decked out Rmax over a year ago and has a whopping 50 miles on it. I logged 100 miles my first trail ride. I would wager his ride will be up for sale in less than a year.
I'm in the market for a 4 seater, actually going to look at a 4 seat KRX in Tuscaloosa in the morning. I believe I'll wait till say around March to see how things start shaking out. I have a 2 seat 900xp but I want to start taking my 2 boys out as they get older.
It definitely depends on where you live we started getting into quads and our son has side by side the problem is our damn state has taking away from all of us where we can ride where we used to be able to ride we can no longer ride it's getting smaller and smaller and smaller it's not worth having it in Oregon anymore breaks my heart but we do plan on leaving this damn state so I hope it's a lot better in other states because you can't do nothing here they've even ruined the hunting here it's just bad
The UTV / camper / boat mkt is headed for a huge crash -- used UTV - boats - campers are coming down as are used cars -- the dealership where I am had nothing the last 2 yrs now they are stocked to the max The problem is everyone who wanted some type of recreation already purchased it also new UTV are crazy price 25K all the way now to 45K for a side by side total Crazy & now they want you to pay a destination charge of 1500 per vehicle & with interest rates over 7% common man - I have a artic cat wildcat 1000X awesome machine paid 15K otd in 2014 & enjoy it at the dunes all the time -- future you will see UTV - Boat - RV camper dealer filing for bankruptcy
It'll drive the price down for sure so the way to get the best deal is, buy when the interest rates are high and then ride the high interest until rates go down and then refinance.
I definitely believe there’s going to be a crash. Many people will be doing anything to get rid of their vehicles that they never really wanted. I am currently selling a used Artic Wildcat. I know it’s a good idea for me to get rid of it soon before the market is flooded. I would rather take a little less now then I have two side-by-side‘s sitting in my driveway. For somebody getting into the sport I would highly suggest buying a used one in good condition. This way if it doesn’t work out well for you you made a small investment and you can probably get most of your money back. This is where most people make the biggest mistake. Buy everything new and put it on endless payments. When the economy takes a dump the first thing that goes is toys
I totally get why you would decide to sell…but when there is blood in the water, the sharks will want to feed. As I was adding mods to my buggy, there came a time when I had to consider if it was work making the modification; knowing that I had already invest to much into a vehicle. I knew the. That I had already invested too much into my buggy, and there was no way I would get even a fraction…of my total investment…back out. For me I had to have a very honest conversation (when nobody was watching) about the reasons I was adding the modifications. There were basically 2 reasons for every modification. The first reason dated back to my old Harley days, and there was, and is, a deep desire to individualize “my” buggy. I wanted certain modifications done because nobody else had them…or very few people had them. As I look back, they all served a real purpose, but they also made my buggy standout. The second reason revolved around the idea that I’m a partial paraplegic, and most of the time I’m raging in the desert…I’m alone. I approached this “honest” assessment of myself not because I see myself as a victim…I don’t…but I recognize and acknowledge the dangers and challenges I could face alone. So, as an example, I always have multiple sources of communication in my buggy; Cell phone; citizen band radio; hand held aviation radio; and a permanently mounted aviation radio, which is to be mounted in the future. The last two radios allow me to talk to pilots at 15,000 feet…on Tucson Approach, should the worst happen. I recognize that everyone does not need the same number of communication options…my lifestyle…my options. All of that crap has led me to respond to your comment about deciding to sell your UTV. I have already made a conscious decision that if I decided to sell…I would accept a fair price, but I will “never” give away my buggy; allowing someone else to reap the benefits of my efforts and or decisions. In fact, I would take nothing, and have my buggy crushed before I would agree a lopsided sale. Moreover, I’m more likely to give it away, and rob a dealership of a potential sale, before I was financially raped while trading my buggy. So, I understand your decisions; we are just approaching that question from different sides. Your thoughts…
Young parents, if its a utv, atv, boat, camper,or any other expensive toy, just remember, don't jeopardize the future of your children with expensive things that you will only use a few times a year. These things are for people that have already taken care of their children and other responsibilities. LEAD BY EXAMPLE, NOT EMOTION OR JUST WORDS.
I don't know. I've had a CanAm ordered since August and dealer still can't place the order. I know BRP was shutdown for a month but this is getting ridiculous. Can't lock down financing until I have a serial #.
All markets are seeing correction. Used recreational toys especially. Used boats that were selling for $20k more than they were worth last summer are back up for sale now at near normal prices. Ouch! As far as “when’s the best time to buy?” , that answer is right now. Why? Because MSRP goes up every year, and lately we’ve seen msrp go up multiple times a year. You can wait for interest rates to drop, but that MSRP will be 5-7% higher.
Yes, I think by next year if even that long people are going to see things they never thought would happen. Economy is tanking bad. It sucks but the pendulum always swings one way then the other.
I’m in Saint George now. The last time I was here was early December 2021. It feels like the population doubled. Maybe it’s just the time of year, I don’t know, but you could definitely use some slowing down with growth. I bought my RMAX4 in April. I think I got 7% for 60 months. Now Yamaha is offering 2.9% for 60 months, but the same machine has gone up $3700.

I can't afford a 30k rmax or krx, I can afford a used jeep that i can drive to the grocery store, beer store, or a cup of coffee. I would like to see the machines come back to low 20k again. I kick myself for not buying a leftover 20 krx for 19k last year.
Terrible time to buy unless you have the cash to pay in full. Interest rates are beyond stupid right now thanks to inept government they will continue to jack up interest rates until inflation is back under 4%.
The in house financing is keeping it going, for instance Honda dealerships are offering 3.99% for a 4 or 5 year loan, AND Honda is only making so many units to send to the dealership and it’s making the customer feel like oh I need to buy one now if they see it on the show room floor, if it doesn’t already have a for sale sign on it. Manufacturers are still playing psychological games with the customer.
In 2019 polaris xp 1000 was otd at $19000 in so. Cal. Dealers were flooded with them in 2021 I could not get one for under $28 k otd. And today the same car is 25k otd if your lucky for a car tat hasnt changed since 2015 base model were still getting screwed.
I sold my 2021 Kawasaki KRX for $27,000 in February. I did quite a few upgrades to it though and the guy I think got a super good deal considering he was going to buy a brand new one stock for a little bit more. I purchased a pro XP ultimate two seat for $32,000 out the door price a couple months ago, and just two weeks ago I purchased another Can-Am Maverick DS 2 seat for $23,000 out the door. My first credit score was something like 809, and my second purchase my credit score had gone down to 790, on both machines I got 8.9% with Sheffield I have been fully retired for quite a few years and just used my retirement income to qualify for both loans.
Wow!! I bought in May 3.2% intrest. On top of that my KRX which I love was much cheaper. $$$$$$ in the bank. Now keep in mind these machines are just big boy toys!

I just started looking at side by side’s because I like off roading and feel it would be a fun hobby. After going to a few dealerships I am amazed at the prices. The profit margins have to be huge. I have noticed that there are alot of 2021 and 2022 models on the lots when the 2024’s are starting to show up. Just like in the car market, these dealerships are going to have to start lowering prices. In my personal opinion it’s better to wait with this purchase. I feel if I buy one now then I would be taking a loss a year from now. I definitely wouldn’t finance one with a 7-8% interest rate
Looked at a Pro R today. A guy was in there talking to the owner, they both know one of the engineers that worked on the Pro R and he straight said it cost Polaris $13,000 to build a Pro R Ultimate. So yes do the math. 400% mark up.
The SXS marketplace is going back to the norm (pre-covid), new and used prices are dropping and sometime soon discounting will be the norm again. Interest rates will peak by the first half of next year, so don't get too freaked out about that. I pay cash for my SXS's, I sold my 2021 Pro XP 4 Ultimate last spring for 42K and turned around and purchased my new 2022 Turbo R 4 Ultimate for 38.8K . As most of you know, the Turbo R has a ton of upgrades over the Pro XP. I only did this because of the inflated values of used equipment over the last year or two. In a normal market, I would have sold my Pro XP for 10K less and bought my Turbo R for 3K less. The US dollar is going to start to fall which will be great for stock prices and we will move towards a more balanced economy. New vehicle inventory will start to build and this craziness will stop for the most part. The next sales person who says taking orders for new vehicles and waiting 6 months is the new norm (and paying full MSRP or more), needs to be hung from the highest tree. That type of sales cycle will be history, and only discussed as part of history -- a thing of the past!
I think the market is still on the rise. Lost of people with families are realizing how much fun they can have with a sxs. I’m a lifer on 2 wheels, but it became an obvious to me I needed to get one to keep my family happy. It was the best decision I’ve ever made. I bought my Talon in the beginning of the lockdowns, and inventory wasn’t a huge problem yet. Fortunately the dealership appreciates loyal customers, so I didn’t get gouged. Be safe!
I'm single, my kids are grown, I don't see how a man with a family can afford a house, car, turck ( I know you have both) a side by side, food and gas!! Being retired, eating only once a day is how I afford it! Yes I'm loosing weight too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! hehehe
@@gm780 I agree The prices have gotten so crazy I don’t know how these guys are able to afford these machines. I’m single and have a daughter…. So more power to everyone is making it happen out there somehow
Just yesterday I received a phone call from Polaris offering $1,000 off MSRP on a 2022 model. No thank you. I’m completely priced out of sport SxS’s at this point…just not willing to spend that much on a weekend toy.
The only reason they offered you that is because they are overstocked with 2022 223's are coming out and the twenty two's have already depreciated about 2500 and haven't even left the lot yet! It's the same deal with vehicles I can't believe these big companies think we are that stupid
Just know you are spending $30k plus for a disposable offtoad vehicle. Roll it even once and it's done. Guarantee you'll wreck or roll it in the first year. Requires constant and expensive maintenance. They fall apart as you drive them. Frames, chassis, pretty much every part of these things is made substandard for their intended use.
Yep...totaled my first utv in first year(insured thank goodness - tow bill was $1600 yikes) but I am a good welder/mechanic so still riding and fixing....lol... but Ive been riding powersports all my life (50+ years of riding) and its the same for all of it.....they broke then and they break now....

The answer is "Yes", the UTV market will crash along with all other markets in the coming months. Should I buy now, the answer is "NO". There will be lots of deals in the months to come. Save and be ready to Buy.
I’m currently selling my old 2005 Rhino, to upgrade to a full 4 seater rzr. Been watching the market for a while and see this shift happening already. Waiting to buy used in spring/summer with cash in hand. I’m seeing good deals on the horizon
I started inquiring about the new Pro R this week, and I can tell you some dealers are still living in fantasy land while others are now trying to move the machine at MSRP + fees. However, I don't see the hunger yet. Give them more time; this will change as the inventory sits. The Fed will announce the next round of interest rate increases on December 15th. If CPI is hot on the 14th, we could see a .75 basis point increase. It's a ticking timebomb, and some of these dealers deserve what's coming.
If interest goes up, people will pull out of purchases and if that happens long enough, prices will have to come down because of lack of sales. Maybe wait until the economy bottoms, or just look for fairly new second hand. If people are struggling, prices for second hand could get low enough.
Yea the market in changing with the economic times. With inflation I see alot of people opting for cheaper machines . Just in my local area can am and Polaris dealers have stock on the show room floor but cfmoto is sold out of pre-orders thru June 2023. People can't afford 20k+ sxs anymore like they use to.
Im one of those people.. new 2021.zforce 950 out the door under 15K...the new models are a little higher price now but with even better options (way better than 2021 model)...Mine has been a decent machine tho not as good as the major players...but it gets me out and playing and having fun for a reasonable price! I wanted a polaris but it was 5k more with less accessories when I bought...the savings afforded me the extra monies to equip my machine with the needed accessories and still have some money left over. I wish my budget could have been higher but it wasnt....
I'm thinking about selling my RZR. I really enjoy riding it but we just don't ride it as much as we thought we would. We only go a few times a year and for what it cost I could just rent one everytime we decide to go...
That’s really the way many people should go. Instead they’re paying $3k-$4k a year just to ride it 3-4 times a year. Add insurance to that and it’s a very expensive hobby
After years of wanting to get into but none of my friends were into it (we all rode Harleys however). Now that we've all but sold our bikes, looking for the next thing. And it's SXS's and camping as they all have toy haulers. I've started seriously looking and shocked at just how proud people are of their toys. Then, this week actually, what was $25k last week is $18 this....or less. As my cargo trailer/camper is in storage for the winter, I can't buy and bring home. I hope it falls further or stays steady until April or so
All a guy has to do is check out KSL in Utah. Prices on all recreational toys are about to TANK. There’s almost 2k used UTV listed for sale right now on KSL!
One of the biggest things we have seen is the increased inventory and discounts that are now being offered. It’s changing for sure and will probably get worse before prices start coming back.
Bought a used teryx4 a month ago cash. Want something newer but not ready to spend the coin yet. Plan is to ride this for a year or so waiting for stuff to come down.
The question is ... Should I buy...the answer is ... Only if you have more money than brains. The prices are ridiculously high and will kill the industry at this rate. Many of those people who purchased on credit overpriced side by sides during the pandemic, will shortly be taking a huge loss when they are forced to sell. Don't forget about inflation because it's far from being under control. Then you have the Ukrainian situation. If that spiles further out of control, it could wreak havoc with our economy. There's too much uncertainty right now to be leveraging the welfare of your families financially speaking
In my mind, this is not a good timeto buy a UTV! Intrest rates are high, plus the dealerships want over MSRP for their machines. At least in my area, they will not drop the price from MSRP!
Correct but MSRP will come down. As machines stockpiles go up and less consumer movement, they will be forced to offer deals. I say 6 months to a year and it will all be different. -Garrett
@@DerangedOffRoad you're right but not really... The older new units of this year will go down but the new 2023 units will be high af and you will have to wait months for your new unit to be built and to arrive. This is how it is every year. I'm sure they been building the 2023 units for half the year now but they are already sold out. And as far as interest rates... Expect even higher because banks don't want to lend anything unless you have the money in your account to buy it out right. The down payment on a loan goes higher % every year even with your credit rating maxed out.
Not that I disagree with you because I have no idea, but I had to travel half way across the country to buy a pioneer. Every dealer that I talked to said they sell an entire shipment of all sizes in 2 days. Same way with Yamaha’s. I was on a waiting list for a 700 Wolverine before a 20022 1000 fell into my lap in Ohio. Again they might all be for sale on the used market in 6 months but there are people everywhere ready to hand the cash over for new machines.
When a manufacturer like Suzuki quits racing at international level to save money.. 1 year removed from winning the world championship definitely take that as the financial warning it is.
It's a weird market here, prices for new are out of controll, and no one is buying. I looked most of the summer now dealers are calling me but still want 5k over MSRP, so I bought used like new for less than half of a new one
I sold my pro xp that I bought just before the covid hysteria a couple months ago for more than I paid for it. With my add ons it was still a small profit. Sold to buy another harley knowing I'll buy another machine in next 1-2 years. Going to have both. Im also going into it knowing interest rates may or will be high. Saving up down payment now while I also customize and pay down the bike . I'm hoping to find someone who never really got into off road much and is selling due to lack of use as well as hoping the market comes down on them as supply increases. Considering a krx next go around.
Deals have been out there. Last December I bought a 2021 RMax new for $500 under MSRP. I was looking at a Talon R Live Valve that was $3500 above MSRP. I guess my point here is it pays to look around, be willing to travel etc. I was pretty set on one or the other and in the end, the Rmax was about $6k less. On top of that, I got more on trade in for my old unit than I had paid for it by about $1500.
You still cant get a Honda or Polaris in TX they sell out in one day, more than likely you have to pre order. Plentay of Yamaha or KRX not sure if it's a supply issue for Honda or Polaris. Can Am is no existant you have to order those.
all these people that bought new during the shortage are going to be so upside down it won't even be funny. They are going to be stuck with them for a while once the new market comes back...
And yes all markets will fall housing financial investments side by side market it will all get cut in half so now is not the time to buy I believe in my opinion
Bought my 2017 rzr turbo for 15k i thought it was cheap at the time but lately ive been seeing 20k for the same year / gen . Honestly i wouldn't spend over 18k for anything under 2019
The stimulus money is what drove prices crazy initially. Everyone had cash in hand. I am looking forward to the markets normalizing.
no, it was where you spent your money that changed.
The prices they have been asking is a joke. I refuse to pay $20k for an $8,000 side by side
who charge you 20k ? the dealership or the used vehicles' owner?
Haha canada you pay way more than 20k
Finally someone giving good advice. So sick of people thinking the endless buying spree, at any price, is going to go on forever. Remember when everyone bought a custom Harley and two houses back in the 2000s? Remember what happened next? Those that forget the past are condemned to relive it.
You’re completely correct, I haven’t forgotten about that at all 💯! -Garrett
Probably the best comment I've seen on TH-cam in a long time. The prices, interest, and spending is getting ridiculous.
Yep ! You nailed it , totally agree with your analysis
Aren't the interest rates for what the bank thinks are labeled "toys" always around 7-9%? The Polaris Synchrony financing rates are around 7.99%
Used to be easy to get 3-4%

When you save and pay cash $$ you will enjoy that toy way more than your neighbors driving on debt.

Paying cash for a machine is the only way to go. Paying interest on a vehicle that deprecates is like using gas to put out a fire.
Im not paying cash for a 33k toy I’ll pay my 4k in interest 😂
Remember this prices only go up almost never go down!!!!!
The problem is these dealers trying to pad their pockets. $1,900 freight fee $500 doc fee plus other fees and over pay for a warranty. Luckily I found a honest dealer and walked out with a Krx 4 under msrp. Got a 5% interest rate

Yep, got a 2 seater quad June 2021 @ 3.99 36mo.
In my area, used prices are only 2-3k less than new. It doesn't make sense to buy used.
You make a very good point. Not only the cost of these items but also the upkeep. -Garrett
I don't understand why so many people think they have to have new machines with a new toy hauler and truck just to go riding. Either credit was extremely cheap for them or they just didn't really calculate and understand how much money they are/were committing

When credit is easy to get, those who are not disciplined will find themselves in financial debt. The thing I see here in Canada is people want to keep up with the Joneses.

I’m a cash buyer. I’m waiting. The Harley Davidson mark has done this a few times since the 80’s. Cheap SxS are around the corner.
Sorry for the typos

All markets are seeing correction. Used recreational toys especially. Used boats that were selling for $20k more than they were worth last summer are back up for sale now at near normal prices. Ouch! As far as “when’s the best time to buy?” , that answer is right now. Why? Because MSRP goes up every year, and lately we’ve seen msrp go up multiple times a year. You can wait for interest rates to drop, but that MSRP will be 5-7% higher.
I guess my question is, you might have msrp go up but I feel like more incentives will be giving off msrp if units aren’t moving. -Garrett
MSRP is going up cause the value of the dollar is going down. Buy bitcoin.

You're going to take a loss on a sxs no matter when you buy it.
Looked at a Pro R today. A guy was in there talking to the owner, they both know one of the engineers that worked on the Pro R and he straight said it cost Polaris $13,000 to build a Pro R Ultimate. So yes do the math. 400% mark up.

Then put 10k into to fix all factory weak spots
Exactly, very well said 👍-Garrett

I'm single, my kids are grown, I don't see how a man with a family can afford a house, car, turck ( I know you have both) a side by side, food and gas!! Being retired, eating only once a day is how I afford it! Yes I'm loosing weight too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! hehehe
@@gm780 I agree The prices have gotten so crazy I don’t know how these guys are able to afford these machines. I work full-time in healthcare and make pretty good money and Have a small remodeling business I do on the side and make a few extra bucks and still think it would’ve tough making they extra payment plus insurance every month. I’m single and have a daughter…. So more power to everyone is making it happen out there somehow
@@HomeGrownPyro1 lots of these guys refinanced their homes and pulled equity to buy their toys.
@@HomeGrownPyro1 they can't afford it. Average Americans live super outside their means, and it's about to cost them everything short of their souls.
Just buy a Honda or Yamaha. Not nearly disposable. Unless you wrap one around a tree.
@@chad6504 I'd destroyed it in 2 seconds. I raced them so nothing stock except valve stems and stickers. Still wipe em out every year. They are disposable toys not worth a shit.
@@drush525 well yeah if ya race em, ya break em. That’s not the 99% of buyers use case.
Toys are Toys. If you can afford it , go get it ! Be Happy
Completely agree!
I hope it falls further or stays steady until April or so
These thing are the scourge of the trails.
So why watch youtube videos about them?
There are some dealers here in MO that are still trying to sell KRX 1000's for $3 - 5k over.
Yeah that’s going to end real soon in my opinion. -Garrett
All a guy has to do is check out KSL in Utah. Prices on all recreational toys are about to TANK. There’s almost 2k used UTV listed for sale right now on KSL!
Yeah the inventory with all toys has been climbing on KSL. -Garrett
Have an update? Seems like things are changing.
Thinking about buying... But i agree with you.... So i just look prices
I believe we’re seeing a little bit different senecio’s play out in different states. It will all catch up soon though everywhere. 👍 -Garrett
When a manufacturer like Suzuki quits racing at international level to save money.. 1 year removed from winning the world championship definitely take that as the financial warning it is.
Agree! Lots of signs that a downturn is coming! -Joe
I just picked up my 2023 maverick x3 dsrr I waited 7 months.
I've been looking for another atv. No way am i paying thousands over invoice and a high apr. I'm not in a rush.
Inflation, too much money chasing too few products. Deflation is no money chasing to much product. Deflation is coming hard.
I feel the same way. -Garrett
And yes all markets will fall housing financial investments side by side market it will all get cut in half so now is not the time to buy I believe in my opinion
Me personally, I believe wait about a year and we will see the changes in effect. -Garrett
Bought my 2017 rzr turbo for 15k i thought it was cheap at the time but lately ive been seeing 20k for the same year / gen .
Honestly i wouldn't spend over 18k for anything under 2019
Very true!
Never ever pay MSRP... !!!! For anything !! Period!
