I am 69 years-old and I have lived in Carmel for twenty years. Carmel is the best city in the world as far as I am concerned, and that is not hyperbole. The round-a-bouts make it a dream to drive around the city. So family oriented and always something to do. I hope life's circumstances never require me to have to leave. I can't imagine living any where else. Honestly, I feel a little guilty for living is such a great American city compared to untold millions of people who don't get to experience what I do. Thank you Mayor Brainard! You are legend. Oh, and BTW, the Carmel police are the most professional and courteous law enforcement I have ever seen. That being said, I guess that there is always one crybaby citizen in every city, like the next comment you will read. If that is the scope of Aidan's existence then God help him.
property taxes should be high, specifically land value taxes, because those don't have deadweight loss. the more you increase land value taxes, the more you can decrease taxes on productive labor, which spurs economic growth.
This kind of city is a horror for a European and especially a French person. But compared to most other US cities, it's a little paradise. Humans have more of a place there than the enormous cars that characterize you. I have children cycling and, even more surprisingly, people walking! No wonder many people in the US come to settle in Carmel. Opinion of a barely chauvinistic Frenchman who lives in Provence, the most beautiful region of France.
I am originally from Boston Massachusetts. I moved out to Indiana when I was nine The racism is pretty bad as compared to Massachusetts. The only worst states I would think would be in the south, but I was shocked growing up as a kid and seeing how people were in Indiana about Racism. As when I lived in Massachusetts We thought nothing about racism. But out here in Indiana I would say racism is pretty serious. Which is a damn shame should not be like that anywhere.
This vid makes Carmel seem very pleasant. A great place to raise a family. It shows A LOT of lightly complected people, which makes one feel very safe. No visions of loud, trashy, unruly neighbors. Now let's see the REAL Carmel.
I have lived in Carmel Indiana since 1967 and my family's roots go all the way back to the original Quaker village. I can give you one good reason not to live in Carmel... It's way overcrowded!... And there seems to be no end in sight to the ongoing development. Carmel has gone from a quite, conservative and peaceful small town to a chaotic city with multi story buildings and parking garages in my time here. Crime is getting worse, my property taxes just went up by nearly $300 this year and for every person who lives here now there are two or three dogs who use your lawn as their personal toilet. Everything is more expensive here in Carmel compared to the surrounding cities and towns. Before too long Carmel will become a Democrat run puke-hole just like Indianapolis.
Do you have proof of crime getting worse? What is overcrowded to you and what makes you feel that way? Development is important for a city to grow and multistory building are smart because they allow for density which leads to increased revenue for the city so that they can spend it on providing further services.

Are there tornadoes out there?
I'm pretty jealous you get to live in such a nice city. You're so lucky! It's really beautiful and the kind of city I aspire to live in.
wait till more blacks, both domestic and foreign move into the burbs. its happening everywhere in the West.
Carmel is great. Wonderful ocean views.

Most people "settle" in burbs like Carmel is because they are running away from blacks and browns.
@@GuiltyNoticer You misspelled crime and insecurity.
Stay in France.
@@garyjackson3531 that's exactly what i said.
@@garyjackson3531 That's what I do, especially not the USA. Too much hypocrisy and religion.
Central Carmel is loud and overcrowded. Traffic is becoming a nightmare.
That's why I live in an older neighborhood on the edge of Carmel.
but you still live there?
then advocate for public transit to decrease the amount of people in cars or if you live in downtown just walk or bike
@L.I.O. Public transportation makes you a slave to the government. The automobile represents Freedom.
Are they racist in Indiana? I heard the remarks by the Purdue chancellor and found that really foolish and unintelligent in this day and age.
Uhhhhhh I think it would depend on where you go.

it's safe and clean, so yeah racist. go to Chicago or NYC for non-racist places.
Yes very
@@Staceystacey19 Anywhere there are Democrats there is racism. Move away from Democrats and you'll be away from racism.

I agree with you old timer. these creatures that advocate for public transit are either dumb or just want to further ruin the town.
