The idea of not using "New" in the title surprised me, because eBay told me I could not use "Like New" because my listing would appear for people searching for "New", when it should not appear. But your explanation makes sense & I will not use "New" in my titles. BTW, when I have an item that is "Like New", in my description I don't just say "Like New". I say "This item is in what I call 'As close to New as you can get' condition". What do you think of that phrase?

Great tips Samson! You must spend a lot of time researching (as do I). One of my favorite tricks is to check the sold listings and undercut the price just a little. I learned this from Prime Time Treasure Hunter.
I do spend a fair amount of time looking into this, I like to try to understand how eBay works. I agree with that tip generally speaking undercutting sold comps will get sales.
@@Michael-sc7yt I think it is working on the psychology of the buyer. Even just using the price the buyer paid should generate a sale using that methodology though.

Hi sorry if this isn't in your area but you mentioned running targetted facebook ads to your ebay listings - can you give a very quick run down on how to do this? Would I be able to link direct to ebay from marketplace or something like that?
@@SamsonTV thank you for reply, really trying to increase average daily sales to go from part time reseller to full time reseller (started at the beginning of the year). In your experience do sales rise continuously as your store grows consistently in size? (Selling one offs, a bit scared still to order from overseas)
Wow! Thank you so much Samson for sharing your information! I appreciate this SO MUCH! I also wanted to add that YES! What the heck is going on with non-payment?!! I am not a huge seller like you, but it is undeniable how much non-payment has increased! I've been a seller since 2008 (like I said, not a ton of things, but somewhat steady since then) and before the last 6-9 months I think I may have had 1 or 2 non payments. I've been so curious about this! Is this like, some kind of ploy by other sellers, selling the same item? Or are people like, drunk bidding, and not really wanting the item once they wake up? I have no idea. I do actually think that it's not a coincidence that buyer behavior has shifted a bit, especially because there has been so much change in the course of regular life for ya know, like, everyone. But I am so I am so glad you mentioned this because I thought I was going nuts or doing something wrong or, I don't even know what. I am sorry that this comment is not actually helpful because I am just as flummoxed about this new surge. But just know that I too have experienced this and am SO curious about what is going on. Thank you again for what you're doing! It's such a great resource and help!
Cheers! I don't think it is often a ploy by other sellers or foul play of any kind. Mostly just people (who really don't have the money), hoping that they will have enough left over to pay for an item. Then they spend money elsewhere & forget their eBay purchases. Also many people who are new to/don't understand eBay, buy items without realizing that they have actually agreed to pay. From my messages with buyers, it seems that many equate clicking BIN with putting an item in their cart etc.
Very informative video, lots of tips I never even thought of! Ive been using promoted listings and have had great success! Thanks from a new ebay seller :)
Hey bro, thanks for making videos. I was just wondering how do some seller can get the listing on first page top 5 items on the search list, when I looked at one seller its a new account and the seller able to make it top 5 I wonder how much the seller paid for the sponsored, assuming the guide is 9% the seller must have paid like 18%? How do you make your new listing be at least top 10 on page 1 search. Thanks in advanced
Hi mate, while it is impossible to say for sure - if a new seller manages to rank in a competitive product, it is likely that they initially promoted at a high amount or undercut the market and then raised the price once they got some sales history.
2022 here. Deadbeat buyers are a bigger problem than ever. eBay has switched to a system where SOME sellers are allowed the luxury of requiring a payment authorization from a potential buyer before they submit an offer. I have yet to be afforded that luxury, and eBay customer service still seems to be a little confused when asked how to set this up. I hope it will become the default setting in the near future, because it's a fantastic idea which is long overdue!
Thanks for this video dude so helpful tips I have a theory about this rise and non payments that I am seeing as well. If someone has an item up for auction and the item is at a price point or condition that is not as good as my listing eBay gives them 5 days to pay up if their listing is only four days away from selling then they can buy my to keep it off of the algorithm results long enough to sell their item then they don't have to pay for my item and they get to sell their crappy item... this is a technique used in baseball called icing the picher. An easy way to tell that this is happening is your buyer appears to have a brand new profile created recently with no pictures and no history and the looks like a computer-generated name I've been trying to get eBay to change the rules requiring buy-it-now purchases for new buyers with no history but contacting eBay and talking to an actual agent is a little tricky in regards to policy change
Interesting perspective, I understand the concept but would prefer to believe that this isn't happening. Because if it is, then it's completely out of my control & impossible to prove.
@@SamsonTV oh either way its impossible to prove AND out of our control I also sell on mercari mainly because that lets you pick and choose which offer Nightwish profile you want to sell your product to I mean why do we even rate the buyer if the ratings make the buyer feel comfortable think the rating should also make the seller feel comfortable
