Nice video. I'm converting a Johnson 40 from remote to tiller. Did this motor have a steering friction assembly on it or is that only for larger motors? How do you adjust the tension for turning the motor?
There is a screw on the side of the pivot tube with a spring on it. Tighten or loosen that screw to achieve the tension you want. Should be on the starboard side.

Hello! In previous video you removed hydroassist, I own that kind of outboard with jet. This kind of assist is very useful to lift outboard to remove grass from intake, but doesn't really works at mine any ideas how to repair it and make it more effective?

It was from a 1990 evinrude 40 hp.
No etec or models like that back then.
I have that same motor and have to replace the kill switch in the front of the throttle do you have any literature on how all that comes apart

You cant, its a sealed unit.
However, usually its just a cable adjustment.
adjust cable in which way? to press more or to pull more
