Beautiful collection, and very complimentary bookshelf, congratulations on obtaining the full suite of Horus Heresy lore and housing it in such an auspicious manner. May the Emperor protect you and your black library!
I didn't mean to be a fan of Mortarion, but I ended up really coming to like him over the course of the series. I think the series does a lot of heavy lifting in making the traitor primarchs sympathetic or tragic, which is nice. Before these books, they were sort of non-generic, highly stylized villains, but after the books pretty much all of them have a surprisingly nuanced backstory and personality.
I know exactly what you mean. That’s how I was with Perturabo. Mortarion was probably my least liked of all the traitors primarchs but his “book” The Buried Dagger came as the finale of the main series so we really didn’t get a lot of backstory to him. I loved reading his backstory in that book and it made me understand him more. I still think he was weak with his fall though and the interaction with him and the Khan in the siege was fantastic
I have just recently at age 36 discovered what 40k is all about. I have yet to read any of the stories or play the game, but i do love watching Lore videos about this shit. Homie! This library is absolutely OP and badass! Keep that shit up! Let your TISM ring!
Amazing amazing collection!!! Truly remarkable!!! Very expensive! I’ve only read Master of Mankind (the best Warhammer Book I’ve read) and Titandeath. Going to start on the first book of the Siege next month and then do that series and then go back to the start. But this is truly impressive. You should be proud
Thank you and I love that you are jumping in! The only humble suggestion I would make is to maybe read the first three books of the main series (Horus Rising, False Gods, Galaxy in Flames) before reading the siege. It will make the siege more impactful having read about Horus before his fall to chaos as well as other characters like Loken, Erebus etc. Let me know what you end up doing!
@@theurgeartifacts thank you for the suggestion. I’m pretty well versed on those individuals from all the lore I’ve read and watched but they will definitely Get their time. I just feel like it’s easier to start with the Siege and finish that series than starting at Book 1 and going thru all 50+ books.
Thank you! I have not listened to any audio books but now that the series is over, I am as considering listening to the Siege of Terra. Are they good? Which book are you currently listening to?
@@scruffy6504 Fulgrim and Betrayer are in my top ten of the 54 main series books. A Thousand Sons, Know No Fear and Master of Mankind are also up there. I’m going to do a ranking list of all of them at some point in the near future
It’s a long road but it such a good series! Some people are mixed on it due to the sheer volume but many (including me) loved it all and were very satisfied
Oh yea for sure. I did all the calculations on release value and what I paid for them at the time. Even the book case is double the price at this point.
@@theurgeartifacts I can only imagine you putting that collection together, getting the end and the death vol 3 and thinking its finally over. This announcement happens and you look at your bookshelf and the sinking feeling that its not going to fit in with the rest of the collection. You tell yourself it doesnt matter...
Unfortunately this was the first book I needed to eBay for. Tried on both attempts to get it from the website but the queue system was absurd. $450 on eBay. Not as bad as I saw some other ones going for but needed the series completed.
Yes that was the most expensive. The others were regular price. The black books at the bottom were the highest release prices in general, around $160 if memory serves.
@@theurgeartifacts It really sucks for me because i have the first two editions and now people are charging minimum 730$ CAD on ebay, if I knew there were going to be 3 books I would not have gone for the first one in the first place. Quite frankly I think in general outside of the artworks and maps the books are a disastrous mess being so long, I think the good thing to come out of this is that GW isnt releasing any more limited editions until they can figure out what to do about the scalpers.
I’ve always been in favor of the print on demand for special edition but I understand that they won’t really be limited anymore. The website is really the main this they need to fix in order to make the ordering experience fair / counter scalping. It’s really tough.
@@theurgeartifacts I just got into Warhammer 40k and i don’t know where to begin . Seeing how much there is to read of the Horus Heresy alone is a bit overwhelming but also amazing . It’s like a testament to how serious Horus was .
He was committed for sure. It can definitely feel overwhelming because of how epic the series is. I got into the series when only about 6 books were released so it was consistent for me. I would say it is so worth while because in some ways this lore is the foundation of current 40 k. Of course, there are other places to start such as the commonly recommended Gaunts Ghosts or Eisenhorn. I actually read those first but looking back I would say there is no reason not to start with the heresy if you are interest. It might even be preferred.
@@theurgeartifacts Thank you . I’ll start looking into buying my first book and I’ll start with the Horus Heresy . As for the games I’m trying to find any video games that are not strategy based and more like Space marine , Darktide , and boltgun . Tacticus is one of the best mobile games ever . As for youtube , weshammer, your channel (theurgeartifacts), Luetin09 , Majorkill, Mr.bones 40k , The remembrancer , and a few more . The lore the different legions everything is addicting as hell to get into . Salamanders and the ultra marines are my favorite so far . Imperial fists and black templars are pretty bad ass too .
I’m really excited for the second Space Marine video game! Though I have read pretty much everything Horus Heresy, I love all those TH-camrs you mentioned in addition to Wolflord Ro, he’s great as well. When you read the books your likes (and dislikes) for the legions will only deepen or shift. It’s a cool experience. For example, I always thought the Ultramarines were the generic “good guy” legion based off that portrayal from the community but then I read the books, specifically Know No Fear, and realized “these guys are pretty much the best for a reason.” The imperial fists are another example of a legion that just continued to grow on me over the books. Keep me posted! I’ll have a new video heresy art book related coming out shortly even though my channel covers a ton of different stuff with my hobbies. Thank you!
Seriously though, this is a beautiful collection and a testament to both your dedication and the quality of this series. I am very happy for you battle-brother!
I would love to start a 30 k force but sadly have not had the time. I do have 10k points worth of Bretonnians from the 90s sitting in the garage though .. 🤔
Man, I am jealous, but kudos. You truely are, the real Warhammer 40,000
Thank you. A greater compliment I cannot think of right now 😄

Brilliant collection! Always pleased to see some Perturabo appreciation. That was one hell of a primarch novel
Thank you! Yea Perturabo’s book was great, the ending especially. I also love that Abnett gave him a short segment in the EotD III as well.
It really did him justice. Not that Perturabo would be grateful
Hah he would not

@theurgeartifacts im up to the flight of the eisenstein. I'm really enjoying them. Going to buy the hardbacks now after seeing your collection!
Love it and Flight of the Eisenstein is a great book too!
Love the bookcase 👌
Thank you! It’s so good I’d consider getting another one at some point
excellent film work also! Very steady camera work

How heavy is that bookcase?
268 lbs

It matters not. Just like it does not matter from where the blood flows…
Are the metal fronts of the Siege of Terra LE books causing any issues when displayed like that? I'm worried they'll damage the other books
They have not. I thought the same when I first started but as long as they are not jam packed. I have the slightest wiggle room.
