  • In this video we explore Melaleuka Lake , in the suburb of North Lakes , where we are currently living , and Lake Capestone in the neigbouring suburb of Mango Hill. Lake Melaleuka is one of our favourite places to ride, being less than 10 minutes way from our home. Home to an array of bird life, turtles, eels, and sunbaking water dragons. When we first arrived in North lakes we would occasionally see a swan at Lake Melaleuka. Unbeknown to us at the time, the female was sitting on a nest on the far lake of Melaleuka Lakes, and not visible to us. She eventually hatched out four cygnets, and the two surviving cygnets appear in this video. We then rode on to Lake Capestone to meet our friend Leanne and rode around Lake Capestone. At Lake Capestone we were looking for the resident swan family, who had six cygnets. Lake Capestone is just behind Mango Hill East train station. Leanne put her trike on the train at Northgate and detrained at Mango Hill East. The ride around the lake is approximately 2km and there are some nice shelters and numerous seating areas around the lake. It was a beautiful sunny day and the water on the lake was like glass. We managed to find the cygnets on our return trip when Leanne was leaving. I have found a good way to negotiate the crossing of Anzac Avenue without having to negotiate the fencing in the middle, of the crossing. I will show you this in the video. We are enjoying visiting the many lakes of North Lakes and Mango Hill. We hope you enjoy this video. Thankyou!!! It is so beautiful up here, lots of different lakes. And all the beautiful swan families. Watching the babies grow has been amazing. I just worry people will get tired of seeing lakes. We have just changed vehicles and until I get a tow bar on the new car, we would need to take 2 cars for different locations.

@@downunderrecumbenttrikeven6967 I'm sure it's hard Pam keeping up with it all, and as I've aged I've noticed it takes so much more just to load up my trike and be on my way. I've to trails near my home within three miles of my house, so I no longer have to load up.Happy Trails , Pam , James and Molly.from Paul in Northern California.😊

This was such a great video loved it a lot. Good to hear from you. and glad to hear that your home is nearly finished being rebuilt. I am also glad to hear from molly and that she is enjoying her rides too. She seems to talk to the other animals and people as you go buy. She has a wonderful personality. Well, good luck and hope to hear from you all again soon. from Canada.

Great ride. What is your average speed when you ride.

Depends on where we are riding. If we are on a dedicated bikeway with little pedestrian traffic 18 km to 20 km/ hr. Riding through people , whatever safe speed is required, sometimes walking speed if children around. Also depends on if we are filming new scenery then maybe 10-15km/hr. We ride for pure enjoyment. I generally don’t look at speedo unless trying to maintain a speed if in a group.
