Outstanding review covering all aspects of the brewer. Just bought one and love the results.
I buy gourmet coffee beans and grind my own. It is more expensive this way but once you have tried genuine gourmet coffee you will not go back to crappy store brands or horrible cheap bean coffee from Starbucks.
Sounds great!
Oxo makes a nice product! I love this machine and it’s great for when I have some people over and I can just take it to the table and it stays hot… nice!
I totally agree!
Really appreciate the measurements…love the pupper, too
you got the new model the vents on the top over the filter basket is to let condensation dry i had 2 before the new one i got a week ago and this is the first one that had the vents it took me a whole to figuere it out becuase i suddenly realized hey it wont just have that condensation sitting in there it can dry out when not in use i love them thats why its my 3 rd one..
Thanks for sharing!
@@JustADad welcome
Wow great demo -- thanks! The slight pausing in the brew cycle threw me off -- I see that I just need to be a little more patient
Your dog is so well behaved ❤
Love how well you explain thank you
How easy or difficult is it to clean the carafe? Do you think the inside of the carafe will stain over time?
The water should be between 195 and 205°F. When the water is above 205°F, it can scald the grounds and create a burnt taste. When it's below 195°F, the brewed coffee will be under-extracted Seems like it is right on the mark.
Thank you, thank you, thank you.
You are very welcome
Awesome review!
Thank you! Cheers!
Question: If i have a filled the water side to 5 to 9 cups but decide I only want 4 cups.... does it stop at 4 cups or does it still empty the water. Making the coffee super watery?
Watching the video it won't stop at 4
Thanks for making this!
You bet!
Do you know if I can turn up the temperature. I used it 3 times, but coffee seems like lukewarm.
Awesome review as usual!
I’m a new subscriber to your channel, I love your videos, very well explained, my coffee maker broke and I’m looking for reviews on coffee makers helping me decide which one to buy, do you have a review for a ninja coffee maker ?
Thanks for subbing! Yes I have several. th-cam.com/video/gonPkhBsG_g/w-d-xo.html

Me too, that's why I'm here, Black and Decker has bit the dust after only a year and the hubby said go ahead and pick out something good 😁 Decisions, decisions! But these reviews are definitely helping!
@peaceninjawoman. Funny that my coffee maker was a cheap $20 black &decker and it lasted 5 years 😄
@@rosyt5968 Oh wow! That's hilarious! And sad at the same time! 😂😭 Not to worry, we will find something better!
Is it a great long term option? I’ve seen many unfavorable reviews on Amazon but none on TH-cam
It seems well made and I have not had problems
@@JustADad Thanks!
Oxo 9 cup, ninja specialty coffee or Braun brewsense! Which makes the best drip coffee ? Which machine is the best dollar value ?
Ninja Specialty coffee maker, They all make the same tasting coffee I just like that the Ninja has so many more options.
@@JustADad but in terms of quality and taste of coffee. Did you notice a difference between ninja, Braun, or oxo 9 cup? I don’t care about fancy settings. Just timer abs quality coffee
@@gilbert2303 The only time I did taste a difference was with the Moccamaster. The ninja, Bunn, Braun and Oxo all tasted the same to me, but I am not a coffee expert by no means. I am not sure why the moccamaster was better but I could really tell something was better with it, more actual flavor of coffee, not as watered down.
@@JustADad would love a technivorm, but none of them have timers
@@gilbert2303 Good point, but they are really fast, full 10 cups in about 5 min, almost as fast as a Bunn
Is the carafe easy to clean?
yes somewhat,
I bought this coffee maker and after 2 weeks of trying to get the plastic smell and taste out I returned it.
I followed all manufacturers directions of washing all the parts and running water and then white vinegar through several times
I gave up. The reservoir smelled of plastic.
Great review, thanks! One question: Amazon says the carafe has a capacity of 72 fluid oz, which I take as about 2 litres. It doesn't look that big though. Can you confirm the capacity? "Cups" is a bit ambiguous.
A cup isn't ambiguous, it's 8oz.
@@flpndrox Eight Australians??
@@johntrevithick5900 No, that would be 8 ozzies. An oz is an American wizard, roughly equal to 0.8 Potters, or 2 Malfoys.
So there is about five cups to the Hagrid.
@@flpndroxa coffee "cup" is 6oz. Google it
I wish you would have checked temperature of coffee in carafe after an hour then after 2.
I’m super late to this but I recently bought one and brewed a pot. Got home from work 8 hours later and went to rinse out and the left over coffee was still warm to the touch.
This looks fancy!
Yeah I love the looks of it!
I have always called that “Ox-Oh” because that’s how they say it on the TV cooking shows.
I bet you are right, it seems so many of these names I have never heard of.
Yes, It's pronounced "Okso". It took me a mere three second to look it up on WIkipedia:
"OXO (kitchen utensils brand) - Wikipediaen.wikipedia.org › wiki › OXO_(kitchen_utensil...
OXO (/ˈɒksoʊ/ OKS-oh) is an American manufacturer of kitchen utensils, office supplies, and housewares, founded in 1990 and based in New York City..."
The name was originally attached to a manufacturer of stock cubes since 1910.
In the US they have market an excellent series of easy-to-hold kitchen utensils since 1990.
Coffee is lukewarm at best when you brew 4 cups. I have to then heat it up in the microwave
That carafe does not keep coffee hot for 2 hours it's lucky if it stays warm for 30 minutes
All that plastic concerns me. It matters not if "they" state it is BPA and phthalate free. Those plastics are made from petroleum and there will be leaching due to the hot liquid contact. Small amounts but a lot over time. How much can your body accept before there are dire consequences? There will be no "smoking gun", just liver or cancer concerns. Stick to stainless steel.
Don't drink coffee period! Imagine over time the dire consequences you will suffer from chemicals in the coffee! Your liver will suffer stop the coffee so together!
@@garagekeys I am waiting for the sky to fall, it will happen soon.
