Terimakasih🙏... Salam dari indonesia🇮🇩
This is awesome. I'm looking to do this with some pallet wood but don't have $400 for a planer. so if i narrow it down a bit and shorten it, i think we're in business!
This is brilliant. I've always wondered why people always go with router planning rigs insetad of handheld planer. Seems like the handheld planer would be way more efficient at it.
Put some metal weight on the ends of the boards to hold that thing down so you can get a nice consistent feed and not worry about it moving on you. Great idea tho, will probably get a hand plane soon and I’m just looking at ways to use it before I get it haha😂
I will show details in the next video in a few days. It is simple, and it can be done that way on most planers. (Unfortunately, I have to work at the moment, no time for making videos, which makes me very sad.)
It would be better to add some latch into the sleds, pressed with a spring onto a screw-thread. As noted by Степан Мудрак, there are vibrations that will rotate nuts. The sleds in my build have very tight holes, so they hold in place, but if you drill bigger holes they will move down due to the nuts turning by vibrations. Edited Finally, I made the video where you can see in detail how to attach the planer: th-cam.com/video/Fl0PIJNlbxw/w-d-xo.html
Not the ONLY problem, that setup won't solve the problem with twisted/warped boards at all, which a real thickness planer solve elegantly. Still a nice and useable idea.
I can see two problems. First, how do you make sure that this attachment to the planer -- these bars supported by brackets -- results in alignment that's parallel to the foot of the planer? Seems to be hard to do. Second, how to do you make sure that height adjustment through these screws keeps the parallel plane?
O som do trabalho é melhor.
@@architechdesign Thanks for that. I'm eager to make yours as it appears to be the most effective that I've found on the internet and simplest height adjustment too.
I'm sorry, Victor, but I can't make it for you. I can't keep up with my work right now, or making videos or anything else. Furthermore, I'm overloaded. 😞
I have shown proof of flatness in another video th-cam.com/video/Fl0PIJNlbxw/w-d-xo.html (at the beginning) by laying a metal ruler in different positions.
I think this is the best solution so far.. I will make it with some extras.. thank you!
Clever. We shared this video on our homemade tools forum this week 😎
So many exceptional creative genius on youtube. I am amazed!
I don't believe it. I was looking for a way to do this, but with a belt sander. You, my good sir, have just solved a very difficult problem for me.
I tried a belt sander too. It did not help at all. 🙂
The belt sander is very slow .
man I was about to spend 500 on wood planer, and then I came across this video. I spent 70 on nice electric hand planer and im building this tomorrow.
Just what I m looking for right now, millions thanks bro.
This is what I need for my electric hand planner
(I don't know if we can rely on ai translators, but my reply is: I'm glad you like it! :-)
wow, nice idea, much better than doing it with a router
The Bosch gho 16-82 has mounting points for such a build.
I like how you made the adjustable height fences.
I don't, because how do you synchronize them?

great job!!

Muy buena idea, saludos desde Venezuela

I would like to see how the tools are modified, but is it possible to upload them somewhere?

Well done! trying to figure out how you attached board to back of planer. My planer doesnt have any good spot to mount on backside

Finally, I made the video where you can see in detail how to attach the planer:
th-cam.com/video/Fl0PIJNlbxw/w-d-xo.html
i would just use 2 screws and counter screw them so they lock
Not the ONLY problem, that setup won't solve the problem with twisted/warped boards at all, which a real thickness planer solve elegantly. Still a nice and useable idea.
It will if the board is wedged and hot glued in place. 😊
How do you make sure that screws are synchronized? Can easily go out of plane.

Belíssimo trabalho amigo show de bola parabéns ganhou mais um inscrito e deixo aquele like valeu 👍 🤝 💯 👍

How did you mount the back post? I don’t see any bolts to use.
I just saw your 2nd video. Thank you
como agarro el cepillo a los listones ?😮
Por qua do vc faz um desse pra mim...nao consigo usar a minha plaina eletrica manual...
Sensacional!!!
You show how did you setup the planer!
How to set up the planer can be seen in the second video: th-cam.com/video/Fl0PIJNlbxw/w-d-xo.html
Mantap
How did you setup the planer to use with the jig?
That's a good question. Thank you. I'll make a detailed video because it may be of interest to more people in the future.

You do realize that the axis on your drill press is skew right?
How much will you charge me if you make it for me? Including the planer and shipping to Illinois.
I'm sorry, Victor, but I can't make it for you. I can't keep up with my work right now, or making videos or anything else. Furthermore, I'm overloaded. 😞
proof of squareness?

Ok

👍👍👍🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷👏👏👏👏👏
I think this is a good idea. I woukd have made the side rails out of angle iron because id worry about those wood ones flexing too much.
