I tried this one amp out at my local Guitar Center while I was trying bass out for the first time, this is an extremely versatile amp, and for its price, this one is a steal. Definitely gonna pick this one up when I get my Bass soon.
I own the 30 watt amp and man I can say at practice this thing is beastly! Love the overall response of string lvls, smooth all the way through! The OD ain’t my cup of tea but with a pedal will change that!
Nice review and thanks for playing some fingerstyle rock and punchy stuff. Very appropriate for this amp and I'm tired of seeing negative comments about all the slap 'n pop demos. (kidding ;)). I really enjoyed the outro too. Poppy slappy and a nice funky punch to it. That amp sounds f'n cool and this demo showed it off really well. :)
I'm a "newbie" and just bought this 100W amp along with a new Ibanez SR300E (Aqua w/Black center), as well as an almost new Gretsch Electromatic Short scale bass and numerous other "accessories", including some high-end cables, and 5 harmonica's (Hohner Special 20's). I just have one "issue" with the amp.... there is no "owners manual" with it for us complete "newbie's" to understand what all the controls are for.... most are obviously self explanatory, but that little "push button" to the right of the guitar input jack has me stumped as to what it does.... and not too clear on how the "back" of the amp works, especially the "Ground/Lift" switch. I am very happy with both of my basses (converted both to flat wounds, which I like much better) and the amp.... but just wish they would consider total beginners, and include a Detailed "owners manual" that would explain all the controls in Clear (re: understandable) detail.
The PAD switch on the front is to lower the input jack signal to accommodate basses with active pickups, or effects in the chain before the amp. That way you won't overload the preamp and cause clipping in the signal. The ground lift switch on the back is to put the direct out jack on a separate ground circuit to eliminate buzzes and other grounding noises. A cheap single button footswitch plugged into the footswitch jack will make your distortion switchable without messing with the front panel.
@@ChrisWilliams_CWMusic.... Thank You so much for your reply, I appreciate it. Sorry for my delay in replying back to you, but only now... came back and revisited this video. Thanks for your information... it helps. I got rid of all my active basses now, and have "settled" on all Passive basses... all Eleven of them, including 2 Ukelele Basses, one of which is a "carbon copy" of my three "Beatle" basses, only about a third of the size.... but has a powerful Upright / double bass sound, which I use for blugrass and some country, and western swing music. By the way... Which "CWMusic" channel are you?.... there's quite a few of them. Anyway, thanks again.

I chose this amp over a Hartke. I like it. The sound is very crisp.
I have one of the first gen acoustic amps from when Guitar Center first resurrected the brand. It sounds ridiculously good, for bass and for guitar. All the GC Acoustic gear sounded staggeringly good, but the reliability was a bit off
Did it came with more juice than 100w? Some times you need more power at rehearsal environment because of the drummer and Guitar Players been to loud even with lots of volume adjustment, some times it gets at a point that doesn't sound right and you need to look the way to cut through if you're no using DI to a console.
Can you tell me what exact model of BB bass you are playing? I looked at the Yamaha website and could not find one with 4 dials like yours so maybe their products have changed. Does it cost about $789? Thanks for your help.
Not a fan of overdrive on bass, but please just show me how it sounds as a bass amp, finger style, no slapping and popping, just playing bass in the context of a song…Thank you very much!
Where do you get the "55 pounds" from for this amp? I have this amp (100W) and my electronic scale tells me that it's 36.8 lbs, which is within 1lb of the advertised weight of 37.5 lbs... that is light, and I don't find 55lbs that heavy either. I work out at home here, multiple times a week with a 120 lb barbell, and up to 40 lb dumbell's.... I'll be 72 years old very shortly and I'm Not a "big" man, either... at 6'+ and 181 lbs. Better start eating your "Wheatie's" young man. lol ; )
I am not a fan of that kind of distortion on bass, but I am definitely buying this amp. It has a great amount of tone options. Thanks for the vid!
This is my current bass amp. Played bass for 30+ years. Owned GK, Peavey, and Ampeg amps. This holds its own….if not better than those amps imp.

Musician's Freind has them on sale for $199... $179 if you are a member. Ordered mine Friday, and it will arrive Tuesday. I can't wait.@@WTHellIAm

I just got one of these yesterday by a buddy of my, the tone is very smooth and clear and I enjoy playing on it already
Nice sounding bass amp, it has a clean tone. Acoustic can make good amps I hope to get one for my collection soon.
I have one of these & the B50C, I found this video very helpful. Thanks...

I bought this for church, over the Ampeg BA115. It takes a lot to have a better sound than Ampeg.
I just bought this amp and plugged in a new Ubass . What a nice sound. Great vid. Thanks so much. My wife will be less mad at me now..

What do you mean about the reliability being a bit off? I'm considering getting one.
I've had mine for 3 years no issues. What happened with yours?
5 years with mine, flawless!
Don't diss the iPod, man! I still use mine :-)

They just announced a 300 and 600 watt combos too
Bass amp sounds good.
Cool amp man!

He said it was modified
Bought one today for practice in my office and I have an Ampeg 450w in my bar.
Your supposed to be working
Awful noise coming from the DI...
Use the ground lift switch and decrease the output volume a little.
I wish there were a 1×15 varient :/
Hell yeah!!!👌 Thank you sir, I honestly love Acoustic and think they're underrated, I have a 70's Acoustic bass head that kicks ass!
Find a secondhand B100 (no C) or B100MKII. I believe those were 100 watts through a single 15".

Next time check out how bassy and loud it is.
Check HandBox amps ! www.handbox.pl/cgi-bin/index.pl
Buzzing sound like a siv
wait 55 pounds is not "light" lol
BassRacerx you ain't kiddin'. Sometimes I hope my carrying hand will work ok after I take it someplace.
Thinking about a Rumble 100.
