Good Evening 😊 Glad you having great weather 👍🏼 Nice pipe Mate 😍 Mikes lives are Fun 😂 Thanks for sharing a pipe 🌬💨💨 and a pour ☕ Appreciate your thoughts on the blend 👏🏼 I used to smoke cigars everyday until it became pricey in S.A 😢 Have a great day and a Fantastic weekend 🤗 Greetings From South Africa 🇿🇦
Good to hear from you Yusuf! Yep, cigars continue to go up in price, which did contribute to my switch over to pipes! Hope you're having a fantastic week my friend! Cheers to you from middle TN!
You are more than welcome Mike! Glad to know you and to lend you some support to you and your channel! Cheers to you sir - hope you are doing well this week!
Excellent! Really appreciate you stopping by and for your kind words! Tell me more about your English journey - if you don't mind. I'd love to know if you've discovered any all-time favorites.
Hi Donnie great to see you again buddy, can’t agree with you more about Mike, he’s a brilliant guy and had me in stitches no end 😂😂😂 love the pipe mate happy smokes and have a great weekend buddy
Morning Donnie, sweet pipe and a pour, while I enjoy the morning coffee, got o love a good English, Balkan blend you’ll not go wrong with Peterson nightcap. Country squire Baker Street with age on it wow 😊
Yessir - loving most of these English/Balkan blends. I've got some nightcap in the hopper - just haven't gotten to it yet, and thank you for the heads-up on Baker Street - I'll be adding some of that soon! Cheers my friend!
Good morning Donnie, great chat as I have my first pipe of the day. Mike is a smashing bloke you just can’t not like him as he always brings a smile and laughter to all and I’ve popped in to the frog and toad on his live shows even though it’s been 01-30 or 2am but I always try to pop in if my eyes will let me.
Appreciate you stopping by again! Good for you being able to stay awake long enough to pop into the frog & toad at such an early hour - love that commitment! Cheers buddy!
I still pretty new to smoking a pipe - a little over 2 months. Haven't really got to the point of leaning towards a favorite type of blend - yet. But this much I have learned - The Country Squire knows what they are doing when it comes to blends. I currently have 6 blends from them and I love everyone of them! Their aromatics are lights out, but I really like Shepherd's Pie and Cowboy Coffee!
Absolutely agree - love everything from them that I’ve had to the pleasure to try! Really appreciate you stopping by and leaving a comment CM, and welcome aboard the YTPC! Cheers!
@@planexshifterAbsolutely agree! The likes of Quiet Nights, Nightcap and Drucquer & Sons recent offerings are all top-notch English blends with some decent Perique in the mix!
Great chat, my friend! That is a smashing pipe. The weather in our state has been nearly perfect. Balkan blends are delightful. My favorite is no secret, but this particular variety is master class. Keep doing your thing, friend. This is a good channel.
got my first pipe and this was the first tobacco blend i’ve tried, although it’s my first time i really want to get some more of this stuff, it’s great.
Howdy Zane! I appreciate you stopping by for a few! Good on you for starting with a fantastic, rich and complex blend! It really is good! You know the downside though, don’t you?!?! From here on out, you’re going to be disappointed in most other blends because you’ll always be comparing it to this blend! 😂 Cheers, and enjoy the journey!
Hey Donnie! 👋 Nice spending some time with ya. I hear many good things about the blend. I will try it one of these days. Beautiful Merchant Service as well. Its been a pretty slow week and weekend. Which is what we like. No Super Bowl for us. Now im hungry for a "pie" 😊
Howdy Randy! Thanks for stopping by buddy! I'd be happy to send you some Balkan Supreme if you'd like to try it. As I'm sure you've heard/seen, it is certainly a fan favorite with good reason! And yes, we've been calling them 'pies' non-stop now... we have been spending loads of time with them during basketball season for our girls, so I guess they are rubbing off on us!?
Another fantastic pipe and perfect pour😊 I really like that panelled pipe, very nice🎉 It suits you well my friend! Stampertamper had sent me some Balkan Supreme recently and yes I find it very satisfying, I enjoy balkans very much😊 Haha I love Mike's channel, his laugh is contagious for sure lol Cheers Donnie
Great blend! In my top 5 for sure. I think it’s the oriental/samsun that just brings it over the top for me. I particularly enjoy that in the retrohale. Nice pipe, enjoy!
Good to see you again! And thank you for stopping by for a few minutes. I wish I could pick out the samsun to know what it brings to the party, no matter though - because it is tasty for sure!
Beautiful Merchant Service! I had thought of purchasing a Square side. I was a bit concern with the aesthetics, where the band drops to the blasted surface. But seeing one in use, it does not appear as dramatic of a drop. As in the the illustrations on M.S.'s website. Sublime smokes! Daniel.
It's funny you should mention that aesthetics of the drop off from the metal band to the blasted surface - I had the very same concern! I saw some of their others where it was a dramatic difference between the two surfaces and I didn't like it. But yes, I've really grown to love this pipe - would recommend it should they get any more back in stock! Cheers Daniel!
Thank you Gary! And I totally understand - Burleys do not like me, which makes it difficult to enjoy blends where burley is the primary component. I have found in my English exploration that those blends that do use VA leaf as the base are not biting me nearly as badly or at all!? Maybe some of them might work for you as well!?
Hiyas Donnie, I'm glad you gave ABS another chance with an open mind; it is a very worthy blend IMHO, definitely in my all time top 5. ABS also pairs nicely with black tea. Personally, I give a blend 5-6 bowls before I pass judgement, with regards to adding it to my rotation; unless it torches my mouth or is just gross.😉 On rare occasions; a blend that I thought highly of early on, proved to be a meh, after a few more bowls. Merchant Services make a beautiful, well crafted pipe and so incredibly, surprisingly lightweight for the size. I have a M.S. "Bing" and it is a champion smoker. P.S. a "cross-over blend" for me is a blend with lighter % of the forward ingredients required to call an i.e. English or Balkan. If a piper has never experienced Latakia; I would recommend Rattray's "Accountant's Mixture" as it's % of Latakia is not bomb worthy. It gives you a mild taste of Latakia and eases you into the next level; if you find that you like it. Have a great weekend and KPO! Gary
Howdy Gary! Man, I really appreciate your insights on the 'cross-over blends'. And I'm absolutely with you on giving them all a fighting chance before making my final 'ranking'. I know that I'm going to have to quit adding new blends into the mix at some point soon, or they will all just run together. Nor will I have the chance to really give each blend a fair chance. Never fear though... I am going to add in some Rattrays blends in soon! Cheers!
You really need to try Boswell Railroad Station and North Woods. … English Biscuit as well.. Donny my invite must got lost LoL …keep em burning.. Blessings from Gettysburg Pa….
Yes! I have them in the 'cart' for next month's baccy purchase - have heard nothing but great things for those Boswell's English blends! And here I was thinking that you'd stood me up for a great cigar when you didn't RSVP... turns out your invite must have been lost in the mail!?!? haha! You still having a hard time getting your hands on Crowned Heads sticks up there?
Oh yeah... I missed out on the most recent drop. Had it in my cart, but didn't pull the trigger quickly enough. I'll be keeping an eye out for it again soon though! Thanks for the recommendation.
